Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023)
The bollywood masala film we needed
This movie isn't perfect but it just keeps you hooked in the magic that cinema holds while ensuring Bollywood stays as the central theme of this movie and there's no other director that could have done a better Job than Karan Johar on this movie.
I loved the cast, watching Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra was a delight. I also loved the utilization of old hindi songs in the movie and just keeping you hooked. The right background score for the emotional punch was great.
Editing of the movie could have been better but it's the emotion of the movie that wins you over.
Loved it. No criticism intended.
Goodbye (2022)
Disappointed
Apart from Amitabh Bachchan and Neena Gupta there's nothing good about the movie. At the beginning you start to feel the pain because of the initial scenes of Amitabh Bachchan but as soon as Rashmika comes in the frame, you can sense her discomfort with hindi language and her not being able to feel the true emotions of the scenes. The background score is off.
Coming to Direction, it just feels clueless in terms of what the story of film wants to say. The humor in funeral scenes are not at all funny and feels weird because of the cluelessness of the motive to give a message.
A true opportunity waisted!
Anek (2022)
A slap on ignorance
Giving this movie a solid 10 to cover up for all the ignorant people who fail to accept the biases and discrimination and calling this movie a propaganda based movie. Movie could have been better but still appreciate the dialogue that it starts.
83 (2021)
It's not perfect but you can't rate emotion, can you?
This movie just gives us an opportunity to immerse the present and older generation to revisit this iconic feast of winning the world cup.
Not only this movie shows the glorious journey of each player but it also shows how a game can unite and maintain the very social fabric of India.
The movie has it's own flaws but it deserves to be seen by everyone and out of everything it's much needed in this current environment where everything has become polarized and political.
More power to such movies. India in its true glory 🇮🇳
The Lift Boy (2019)
A simple and fresh tale of Hope
The story beautifully evolves with time. The script does not let you loose the essence of what the film is trying to show you. Kudos to the team for creating this beautiful story.
Chale Chalo: The Lunacy of Film Making (2003)
A journey of human evolution and unity
I have always loved Lagaan as a movie but after watching this documentary, you can't help but see and appreciate the efforts the team goes through to make a piece of cinema possible. The kind of impact cinema has on viewers is well known but this is perhaps the first time where you see impact on the artists and technical crew behind the screen. While it's easier to critic and comment on a movie. Cinema and the people behind the screen (not just the actors but almost everyone) should be considered while making any judgement. Cinema as a whole needs to be viewed more empathetically and address all these unsung heroes in creating one hell of a saga.
Kudos to everyone who were involved on the project and thank you for making this dream of a project happen.
