After the Flood (2024)
Oh Dear, dreadful
I managed to cling on through the first episode of nonsense. As usual, unbelievable characters with cliche script. So we are to believe a trainee detective would risk terminating her embryonic career by breeching data protection laws amongst other crimes.
I just can't bring myself to watch anymore.
An 'on-line' DNA resource where one can upload one's personal DNA profile? And then that company puts a person in touch without a buy-your leave.
Garbage, garbage and more garbage. Unfortunately this is yet again a badly researched story with a lack of any credible behaviours. Did I say it was garbage - oh yeh, it is.
The Rig (2023)
Bad Bad Bad
What a waste of good actors! This is easily the worst thing I've seen since that garbage about the nuclear sub on BBC "Vigil".
Why do script writers not bother with even a cursory review of the technology they dramatise ? Time and time again British shows seem more intent on getting their intersectionality score up than actually making even approximately correct depiction of a highly technical and professionally managed workplace.
1. The arse with the big mouth would have been off that rig long before he became a danger to everyone.
2. How come the "communications technician" is also an expert on drilling operations (faffing about in the control room).
3. The whole point of wearing harness and lanyard clips was misrepresented - there's two per belt, clip on with one move the other lip off and move up/down. Falling off would result in a bruised ego.
Some really good actors utterly wasted on a screen play seemingly written by an ignorant child.
Trigger Point: Episode #1.1 (2022)
Utter Rubbish
Silly nonsense with idiotic technical gaffs. Wooden acting and excruciating 'banter'.
Why do the children who wrote the script (for it can't have been an adult) think it's ok to not even spend an hour Googling some technical details. Utter tosh.
Apart from that it was ok.
Vera: Tyger Tyger (2022)
Weak plot with too many factual errors
I like Vera, even though the basic premise of an elderly officer running around solving crimes in a day or two is plain daft - but this episode is clumsily plotted and reliant on factual inaccuracy. I do hope it improves. Earlier episodes were better.
