This season of American Horror Story seems so far almost like a side project for Ryan Murphy to further study the time period related to Dahmer. Not an American Horror Story type story at all. I did not tune into this series for this. It might be a valid and decent story, but, it belongs elsewhere. Very disappointed. Not sure if will watch further because I really did want to see the American Horror Story series. Not a social commentary on the 80's AIDS epidemic and gay cultural struggles set upon the back drop of a serial killer who drugs and kills gay men. If it was under a different project and not by the same creator who just gave us Dahmer with Evan Peters (which is such a stellar show on its own) I would not be forced to compare this with Dahmer - & I might be more likely to have wanted watch this under the AHS umbrella I miss the old American Horror Story.

A Shadow of a Show Much Loved

Not a good show by any stretch. It just does not show high enough regard for its source material - Supernatural (which is an incredible show). The characters seemed like stock characters and the plot seemed rushed. The main actors didn't draw me in. They had no chemistry. The special effects were not even well done. This John and Mary did not remind me of the the John and Mary that we knew on Supernatural. Even Jensen's voice doesn't sound like Dean, which is very odd. I expected much more from Jensen and his wife. Just a very shallow show. Seemed geared towards young teens that they underestimate as not expecting much substance. I respect Jensen and his wife. So therefore, I am giving my honest critique.
I really do not understand why fans of the show are settling for this poor shell of a representation of Supernatural. Maybe they are just desperate for anything that is remotely related to our beloved show. But, I for one, wanted more from such rich and vast source material. So much could have been done that actually followed 15 seasons of rich story telling and then expanded.
All these 10's are very unrealistic and should be reserved for the best shows ever made. If this wasn't being bombarded with very unreasonable 10 reviews the rating would be much lower and more reflective of the show. Don't be fooled.
***Have now heard that what is planned is for 12 episodes it's going to be the story line destroying the canon of SPN and then on the 13 episode it's all "fixed". Then why bother with the first 12 episodes...? That's just lazy to say the least. Why bother then? Makes me dislike it more. I am not buying into a mind wipe or multiverse or any other excuse to make it all acceptable.
Just keeps getting worse.
