Sam Bahadur (2023)
Must watch story of an incredible soldier !
It was long overdue that someone told the story of India's first Field Marshal- the incredible Sam Manekshaw. Meghna Gulzar has done a fantastic job portraying the ever so dynamic & steadfast soldier who lead India's army during challenging times. Not for 1 second did this biopic stray form it's focus of telling the story of the soldier who joined the Army when india was under British Rule.
I fall short of words while describing the brilliance and excellence of Vicky Kaushal's acting. He has aced the walk, the accented, the persona, the character, the emotion of the great Sam Manekshaw . Every moment on screen is as if Vicky is living and breathing the soldier he is paying for to.
The screenplay is smooth and crisp. Important historic moments are shown as much as possible without blowing the context of the biopic.
Fatima Sana Sheikh has done an amazing job in the little screen time she got playing as Indira Gandhi.
Ever INDIAN who can, should watch this movie. Every Indian owes this much to the great 'Sam Bahadur' .
Animal (2023)
A pointless storyline filled with mindless violence
How does one review a film like Animal?
Does one focus on the incessant use of violence to give shock value? Or the disgusting objectification of women to a point where their only purpose in the world appears to be to serve men? Or the mindboghling manner in which the hero goes on a mass rampage which is justified by him having 'daddy issues' ?
The least that this movie could have done is have a tight script. Alas this was also not possible for the director.
Anil Kapoor stands out as an exceptional performance.
There is no role that this man can't do well.
The length of the movie is also awfully long.
The Pogmentary (2022)
Heights of delusion & selfishness
This gives us a peak into the selfish & delusional mindset of the player. It's sad and pathetic how self centred and greedy certain players are these days. Don't waste your time watching this .
A Thursday (2022)
Gripping Thriller with terrific performances
A must watch movie & the best thriller of 2022 till now.
Story - Very well written. Keeps you guessing at almost every step. 9/10
Direction - Fast paced, gripping screenplay, no clutter whatsoever. 10/10
Acting - Yami Gautam is flawless. Her facial expressions are mind blowing. Both Atul Kulkarni & Neha Dhupia do a fantastic job complementing her. The side actors were not the best but it is what it is. 8/10.
