Resident Evil (2022)
I enjoyed it...don't care that it's not "exactly" like the movies.
I enjoyed this and enjoyed the new take on the Resident Evil franchise. Does it line up exactly with the movies? No. But it says right at the start "inspired by..."
The fan-boys of the franchise seem be mad that it's not an exact copy of the movies. Use your imagination, move on, and enjoy the show for what it is.
Inventing Anna: Dangerously Close (2022)
Director like to have people yell at each other.
Unlike the other episodes which centered on interesting situations and engaging dialogue, this episode mostly consists of people insulting and yelling at each other.
Love the show, but this episode is the worst.
Supercar Megabuild (2016)
Stupid fake
Nope..not going to watch this show anymore. I just watched the episode about the Camaro. There are so many things wrong with this show I'm not sure I can list them all. Mostly though I find the show insulting. Am I supposed to believe that one of the company exec's doesn't know what a Camaro looks like? Seriously? Are we supposed to believe they you can evaluate a car against a Lamborghini by towing an airplane? Are we to believe you can evaluate the cars handing by driving around a wet track with traction control off and stomping on the gas while steering like a spastic child? Seriously? How stupid do you think your audience is? If you are going to make reality tv show at least try a little hard to make it seem real. As is it's not just fake, it's stupid fake.
Afterlife of the Party (2021)
Boring and shallow
Main character is a narcissist. That's not a spoiler, it's the whole point of the film. Now, imagine you spent that last years of your life not paying attention to the needs of the people around you and being completely oblivious of your parents. What do you think would be a meaningful redemption?
Oh, did think I'd give it away? No, that would be a spoiler. Just think for a moment what a narcissist *thinks* are acts of depth and caring. Ya, something like that. Trivial and shallow. It's all good now. All good. You can go to heaven now.
The Prince (2021)
Funny as hell
What made it even better is reading the royalists offended by their dear antiquated royals being the subject of satire. Oh the humanity! LOL
It's Family Guy + The Crown + quite a bit of mocking of narcissists.
Oh, and it's a cartoon. No children were hurts in the drawing of those cartoon characters.
Hilarious.
Manifest (2018)
Lost 2.0
Director: "We need a few more episodes that have no special effects, so make some with nothing but the actors yelling at each other."
Writers: "Shouldn't we at least try to fill some of the plot holes?"
Director: "You're fired. Someone get me one of those Lost writers!"
Lost writer: "Again?"
Director: "Ya but with more soap-opera drama."
Lost writer: "Isn't this supposed to be a sci-fi thriller?"
Director: "You're fired. Someone get me one of the writers for The Bachelor!"
Secrets of Great British Castles (2015)
Should be called "Secrets of British Rulers with Castles in the background"
This show is not about castles. It's about some of the people that lived in them, or had them build. While it goes on and on about these people, it has sweeping views of a castle.
I wish after watching this show I could say I now know about the castles but unfortunately, not.
Secrets of the Saqqara Tomb (2020)
Embarrassing
I'm not an archeologist and even I know that this is not how it's done. If they actually did the dig this way I shutter to think of the damage done to this site. Amount of history destroyed by these people playing professionals is astounding.
I'm disappointed.
Uncut Gems (2019)
Not for me
I tolerated 57 minutes before quitting. The movie is a constant stream of yelling, noise, and people talking over the top of each other.
It's rare that I end up hating a movie...but this is one of them.
Rim of the World (2019)
Predictable story, bad acting, vomit inducing shacky camera
I give any movie that makes me nauseous one star. Producers that make movies UNWATCHABLE don't deserver a higher rating.
Superstition (2017)
supernatural soap opera
It started out interesting then something horrible happened. I don't know, perhaps some second-rate writers got put on the payroll. Maybe the budget got slashed. In any event it went from promising and interesting in the first 3 episodes to BORING INTERPERSONAL DRAMA! ugh. what a disaster.
I'm don't think I can tolerate another episode like that to see if they turn it around.
Death Note (2017)
very much enjoyed it
I have no experience with this story. That's the way I like it, going in cold with NO preconceived notions of the story, the characters, the pacing, the whole thing.
The film stands on it's own. It is entertaining and had me guessing where it was headed throughout.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016)
to many cuts
The story was as good as expected but what ruined it for me was the thousands and thousands of cuts. Every action scene (and in this film that means every minute or so) was done with cuts about ever 1/8 second. Not only did this make it impossible to appreciate the action, but half way though the film I had a blazing headache.
