Psych: A Nightmare on State Street (2014)
What were the writers smoking?
This is one of the most strangest episodes I've ever seen of ANY TV show. For a series that had all of the episodes rated 7 or above, this one is just an odd ball. It follows no discernable story, and makes little sense. What were the writers smoking when they wrote this?
Psych: Deez Nups (2013)
Episode was ok, but story was a bit off....
So Juliet can forgive a guy who LIED about his entire life, for his own personal gain, and kept going out with him, but yet Shawn lies to SAVE LIVES, not personal gain AT ALL, and she has a problem with it?
To me, this seems like the writers just conveniently "forgot" about what happened before. This just stinks and involves me yelling at lot at the TV calling Juliet a witch (well, I used a different word that rhymes with with), because she is judging Shawn to different standards.
Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Game (1991)
One of the stupidest episodes ever!
All this build up, and a strobe light fixes everything MAGICALLY!?!?!?
Of all of the lame climaxes to ANY episode of ANY series, this is got to be the worst.
Pathetic.
Star Trek: The Way to Eden (1969)
What was someone on when they came up with this one?
Seriously. The singing, the stupid people, Spock's interaction with them, Chekov's issues.
I think this is actually WORSE than the Spock's Brain episode. If you consider Spock's Brain was meant sort of as a joke or meant as a humorous episode. (come on, "What is brain?" how can that be taken seriously?)
I just watched it and skipped through the BS singing garbage, which made it actually tolerable, and a LOT shorter epsiode.
Star Trek: For the World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky (1968)
Good episode... with one BIG problem...
I'm sitting watching this episode and Natira says something referring to the new world.... and they'll get there soon...
WHAT??! They're on a PLANET that moves? Come on! That's about the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a Star Trek episode. I can't believe the writers made such a stupid mistake!
Star Trek: And the Children Shall Lead (1968)
Horrible
I've heard the behind the scenes talk about this, how Frieberger was behind this. I just don't understand how someone could have thought this was a good episode. I have my doubts about the taste of the reviewers on this site who rate it high or say it's better than some other episode. Just boggles my mind.
Unbelievable!!!!! (2020)
The name fits....
I didn't get it. I wanted to like it, it looked like it'd be funny. I'm a big Star Trek fan. It was great to see the actors from all of the different versions of Star Trek. I LOVED watching "Chekov" run over "Kirk" with the fire truck. "Uhura" using the force to choke someone. That had me doubled over laughing.
I honestly feel like the entire movie was a set up for the outtakes that they showed at the end. Without the movie, the outtakes wouldn't make any sense.
There were a few funny parts, but it just seemed like it was written by different people and "shoe-horned" together to make a movie.
One thing I did learn, Snoop Dog is a HUGE Star Trek fan.
I gotta wonder, why did these, relatively speaking, big deal actors do this? With a budget of 4 million, I can't imagine they got paid much, if at all. Were they bored? Did they just want to do something else? Did they just want to be silly? It explains why it took 4 years to get this out. Maybe we have COVID to thank for this? They didn't have anything ELSE to do, so they did this?
Star Trek: The Next Generation: Brothers (1990)
Good episode, bad start though
The kid who pulled the prank on his brother... was being a NORMAL CHILD. The real fault is the kid who purposefully ate something he knew he shouldn't. Then the little brat plays THE VICTIM the rest of the episode? WTF?
I liked the other parts of the episode, but the writer clearly doesn't have kids.
House M.D.: Lockdown (2010)
Great episode except...
The part I've never understood is why the fact that Cameron is such a hypocrite. Seemed like the logical time to bring it up. She killed some old guy in an earlier episode... NEVER has this been brought up. Really paints her in a bad light. It's ok for HER to kill, but not Chase? It's ok she killed someone because they were some insignificant person, but it's not ok to kill a dictator? Really>?
Columbo: Murder with Too Many Notes (2001)
Should have been the last Columbo
I wrote a scathing review of the last Columbo episode, and this should have been the last Columbo. I particularly liked how it ended, with the victim's girlfriend showing Columbo how to play the song that had been with the series for so long, "This old man". Fitting end to the series. Good actors and actresses, Columbo at his finest.
I liked this episode.
Columbo: Columbo Likes the Nightlife (2003)
Finished watching the entire series...
...all the way through, and this has to be the worst of the entire series. No doubt IMDb wouldn't approve of my language if I gave a true description of just how bad the music was.
It's not because of Falk being old, I kinda liked that.
No, it has to do with the absolutely horrible music. (Kinda ironic that the previous episode specifically spoke about how music can change a movie, and how if it's bad, you notice, if it's good, you don't notice) If this episode was re-scored with new music, it would GREATLY improve it. I found myself skipping the parts with the horrible music... actually, now that I think about it, it's more NOISE than music. I get they were trying to appeal to a different crowd, but lets face it, the younger crowd wouldn't be attracted to an old guy besting young people.
Enough about the music, about the story. Are these people so stupid to never hear of self defense? The poor woman was being attacked, pushed the guy back, he tripped over something, and fell onto glass, and died as a result of a stupid accident. Then it's compounded by a murder? Why not just call the cops?!?!? The press she'd get might HELP her career! Who knows?
All in all, it could have been a better episode with a slightly better story, and definitely better music. Certainly it should not have been the finale of a truly awesome series. I loved all of the episodes, except this one.
Falk deserved better, we fans deserved better. Whoever decided on this music should be tarred and feathered. (I'm just reeeeeally hoping it wasn't Falk) I find myself wanting to watch them all over again to get the bad memory out of my brain and just never EVER watching this episode again!
Paranormal State: Hell's Gate (2008)
Holy bats**t batman!
This show is OK. But this episode just set of my b.s. meter. He brought out this "controversial" device that would measure things, and then assign it a word. This is a lot like a so called device another show uses (Gho** Adventur**s) that is complete b.s. I can accept the EVPs, the partially visible beings, the strange noises, but bring something like this on show and I'm done. This is going WAY too far, and I hope they don't use it in another episode. Ryan really seems like he's trying to help people, and I've read about the other controversies, and that's all fine and good. I just can't understand why he's taking the reputation of PRS, and running it through the outhouse with such a device. I could come up with a random word generator on a PC, and hook it up to something else, and say it's generating words of the dead and it would be just as accurate!
Storm Chasers (2007)
Could have been better....
I'm confused. I thought this was airing on the Discovery Channel, not the Soap Opera Channel. When I watch the Discovery Channel, I want to "discover" or learn something. Not watch drama between the people on the screen. I think this show could have gone for MUCH longer, had they just left the drama out. I think a great deal of it was scripted anyways. I understand that ratings matter, and that it's money that moves stuff, not just educational stuff, but then why isn't the show on anymore? Maybe because the drama just got SO OLD. The producers ruined a potentially great way to get money into research. I just watched the entire series, so it's all fresh in my mind. There were great ideas that could be used to research and possibly save tons of money(building damage) and hundreds of lives, but will they be used now? Who knows?
Why does everything have to have drama? I mean, Ghost Hunters had drama in the beginning, thankfully they dropped most, if not all of it. Isn't there enough drama covering the damage and the lives that have been changed in just a few minutes? Why add the other garbage? Bring back the show, but not the drama!
Auto Focus (2002)
Unexpectedly insightful info Bob Crane
I've read other reviews that stated this was a dark film about an actor gone wrong, I didn't see it as "dark", I've seen much much worse.
This is a story about a gee whiz, aw shucks guy who gets caught up in the glitz of Hollywood, got into a friendship with a guy who used him for sex. Other reviews have indicated this movie hints at Carpenter as the killer, to me, it puts a big blinking neon sign over his head saying he's the killer. I have no doubt now Carpenter was a killer, and probably bisexual. He was as much as a sex addict as Crane was, and saw it vanishing, so for some reason, he thought it was a good idea to kill any possibility of using Crane for sex in the future. Makes no sense to me.
Anyway, this movie is a typical tragedy, Crane was looking to get back with either one of his ex's, they didn't want anything to do with him. He then realized he had hit rock bottom, and was trying to climb back out. That's when he gets killed. He probably could have gotten that last woman the night before he died, but realized it wasn't what he wanted. He finally was at a turning point, and some selfish looser stopped it. Who knows what he might have accomplished.
Overall, I was fascinated by what happened to a decent guy gone bad, it's just too bad it happened.
