Tenet (2020)
Please don't watch this movie and think you're stupid. It's not you. It's the movie.

After watching this movie I remembered what South Park's Sharon Marsh said about another Nolan movie:

Sharon: Just because an idea is over convoluted and complex doesn't make it cool. Going into multiple dream levels sounds like a really stupid idea.

Cobb: You don't get it because you're not smart enough.

F***ing awesome ride!

What I gathered as a reason for low score based on reading negative comments on IMDb: 1. I thought this was a comedy. 2. I hate Tina Fay and/or women as leading actors. 3. I don't understand the point of this movie / I thought it was a war movie... 4. All above.

My take on that: 1. So, it's not a comedy. But it's not a heavy drama either. 2. I don't watch movies because of the actors in the first place. So I don't care if it's a male or female lead. And I don't care if the lead is Tina Fay or Curt Russel or Meryl Streep or... you get my point. If the story is good and well told and camera work is OK I'm happy. 3. It's set during a war. It plays a big part in the whole story. But it's not a war movie - almost no action... 4. I loved the story of a reporter feeling trapped in 'normal' life, looking for a change and finding it in a war zone. Only to.... well you'll have to watch the movie. I don't want to spoil experience for someone who decides to watch the movie.

So, take my opinions into account. Or don't. Your choice. I already got what I needed from this movie and writing this review.

Blended (2014)
Bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad

I gave it 3/10. And that is only because I stopped watching at 37 mins in, and gave it benefit of the doubt that later it picks up. Edible panties lame joke was were I just realized that this is time I will never get back.

This looks like the Frankenstein monster after they cut out all the bad stuff from all the past romcoms and family movies they could get their hands on.

To sum it up: - jokes are not funny unless your IQ is less than 70 - acting is bad - story is unimaginative

Some of the things I'd like to yell at the makers of this thing while they are being water boarded: - Guy names his kid ESPN? After a network? Why didn't you just name the girl Jane and just on the base of the screen put a crawler saying ESPN - ESPN - ESPN - ESPN - Soo...you have 3 girls for 15 years in 21st century and it is embarrassing to buy tampons? Really? And guys in real world can relate to that? Really? - Woman buying nude magazine. And being embarrassed. Just that. - Boy eating edible cherry panties because it tastes good? He's like 9 and can't read 'panties' correctly? And that's a joke???

Nice and unusual for big Hollywood movie
9 March 2011
I can't believe the low rating of this movie. I guess it's because it does not give you usual polished Hollywood story of romance: boy meets girl, girl has a boyfriend/fiancé who at first seems perfect but then turns out to be douche bag and/or evil and there steps in this new perfect guy, they kiss and live happily ever after, the end.

Here, both guys trying to get the girl are screwed up in some way or another. Boyfriend (Owen Wilson) is not a bad guy. He is not too sensitive, he sleeps around, but the point is he doesn't try to hide it. He is honest about himself. And throughout the relationship he tries to better himself and the relationship with his girlfriend (Reese Witherspoon). On the other hand the "new guy" (Paul Rudd) is depressed, has no job or money and is facing prison time. And at the beginning the girl he's chasing considers him weird. His slime-ball/businessman father (Jack Nicholson) I think just adds likability to Rudds character.

Also, what I like is there is no perfect ending. There is sort of a feel-good ending but it's not perfect. Although, for that you'll have to see the movie.

Astro Boy (2009)
bad, just plain bad
24 March 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This is my first written movie review ever.

I never heard about Astro Boy before today. I decided to go ahead and watch it based on IMDb grade. And only thing left after seeing it was a wish to warn others not to see it. Except if your a kid up to...let's be generous... 9 years old.

Characters are one dimensional and stereotypical, plot is just plain stupid and unimaginative and at (lots of) times doesn't make much sense. Only mildly interesting characters were the RRF robots. Didn't get the point when President is still speaking of reelection after being absorbed by a giant robot destroying city.

You were warned.
