Insidious: The Red Door (2023)
Why can't I rate 0/10?
I already have wasted enough time watching this crap and will not do the same here.
It's horrendous. This movie is so bad that it must be cancelled and removed. Now I didn't watch the other 4 titles in the series and thank god for that.
Here's the problem in case you're wondering:
-Terrible story
-Terrible narrative
-Terrible acting (except for Sinclair Daniel) she smashed it
-Terrible choice of music from the beginning
-BORING!! I can't imagine what people went through watching this in the cinemas. I would have left immediately.
Final take: Don't even think about it. Save not only your hard-earned money but most importantly your valuable time.
Influencer (2022)
Pretty decent for a low budget...
I'm about to hop in...
Pros:
-Great story
-Great development
-OK, but not great acting
-Found it fascinating that there was a 30 min preface to the film.
-Great length, not over the top short or long, it's perfect.
Cons (or my thought process didn't fit in)
-Being marked a "Horror" is simply not it. There are no repulsiveness components to it nor even close. This is a decent spine chiller that you've most certainly seen from different titles, harking back to the 80 and 90s.
-Fairly unsurprising, albeit, the promotion and climate of the film were finished.
- It's a low financial plan. Presently there is nothing amiss with it. It might have had a superior possibility of being a hit in the cinema world in the event that there were Elite actors playing this.
-The completion was simply somewhat lost and disregarded. Might have finished way more astute than it really did.
Outline: It's agreeable, it's tempting, it keeps you honest till the end and you will love watching it.
Sanctuary (2022)
Funny, dark, mysterious but def not thriller
This film is an encapsulation that you don't necessarily must have rundown entertainers and burn through heaps of dollars to create a decent film. All things considered, it's really respectable.
There are however a few things that I need to address.
Right off the bat, it's a sluggish burner. You need to hang tight for it to stir things up around town. There are scenes that feel tiring and exhausting. You need to comprehend that this film is being conveyed by only two entertainers and it's being recorded in a similar spot for 1h and 30 min straight which to certain individuals can be repetitive yet it's not frustrating by the same token.
Last take:
1. The acting is fair and right on the money.
2. The discoursed felt a bit a lot on occasion.
3. It felt long, they might have stripped it down to 30 min and (I'm definitely not exaggerating) however hello it should be a film so I surmise that seems OK.
4. The closure was disheartening. It could have ended on a better note.
Annabelle (2014)
Wooohohoo creepy
I ought to specify that I'm not into the repulsiveness kind and I surely didn't watch this film when it emerged. I've watched it as of late 2023 and thank god for that. Truth be told, The principal reason I've watched it was to figure out the horror angles individuals go crazy about which honestly overlooked the main issue a lot in this film.
Aside from the film simply being about a possessed doll that goes berserk mode for no obvious explanation whatsoever there are issues inside this film.
Acting is simply mediocre, more often than not it's so plain and clear the entertainers just retained a specific line and convey their exchanges with next to zero exertion. Likewise, who sane would get a doll like this that looks unpleasant and be like "Correct, this should be in my child's room"
Rundown:
If not for this couple's outright awful nurturing and all-out inept mentality absolutely no part of this would have occurred. There are a lot of scenes in this motion picture that you simply need to punch the screen and shout at them for doing the most exceedingly terrible in the given circumstance.
Would it be a good idea for you to watch it?
I'd say watch the first in the alleged establishment just for the sake of it and afterwards don't bother with the following installments.
Plane (2023)
Mediocre...
If you want a action packed adventerous survival type movie then this might be for you. Though, it was mediocre. First of all you might wanna ditch your logical way of thinking while watching this movie cause not only a case like this will never ever happen in real life and second it's just unrealistic. There are scenarios that just doesn't add up but it's action packed with a decent amount of adrenaline to keep you on your toes for a short period of time. Also, what bothers me is the fact that it's R rated. There are hardly any scene that would push this title to the adult section but the only thing that could possible cause this to have an R rating are the casual F bombs that are just thrown in there for absolute no reason.
Solid 5/10 can't expect much.
Barbarian (2022)
40 mins of perfection then... wtf am I watching?
Alright, let's start off with this absolute rollercoaster of a movie. The first 40 mins of the movie are pure perfection, it's absolutely what anyone can ask for in a horror/thriller movie and I don't even watch a horror movie that much. The whole time it portrays that Keith is gonna be the madman or a kidnapper or whatever you think of it cause it's the direction the movie is taking you in and it's good. The whole time you're trying to figure out like what's next, it keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you question everything. But then, halfway through the movie, it's as if the writer was swapped and it just goes down horribly. Like I can't express how bad it goes on from there and frankly, there were no more horror elements to it. It just turns into one of those cliche hiding and chasing from a weird creature that makes you say "wtf" the whole time. I can't wrap my head around how this title got 7 out of 10 by the majority. The people who enjoyed this crap probably have never seen a good horror movie in their life. Overall, it's sad that the trailer built soooo much hype and the beginning was absolutely spot on but then NAHHH that aint it.
Also, wtf is Barbarian? Trust me you wouldn't know what or who the Barbarian is even after watching the movie.
Save yourself the trouble and watch something worth the time and what you pay for.
Cocaine Bear (2023)
I want a refund for the 1 hr 30 min I spent watching this non-sense
I know this movie isn't supposed to be taken seriously but come one now. It was by far the "worst" (i'm not even exaggerating) movie i have watched to this day.
True events aside, the acting, the soundtrack and everything in between felt so tiresome and dubious. This is the kind of movie i would pay for to watch in the cinemas just to get away from a huge thunderstorm that would prevent me to continue driving.
I saw the trailer and thought this might be a fun/comedy movie to watch after a long day of work but it was just a let down. I don't get it with all positive reviews. I can't find a single aspect that made me go "Oh this is actually good". I didn't pay to watch this movie and I want refund for the time it cost me.
Pearl (2022)
Mia Goth...and Mia Goth only.
The film is carried by Mia or "Pearl" all from the start till the end. Other roles were just either silent most of the time or their dialogues were too scripted and bland. And honestly I asbolutely love loved X and it was a solid 9/10 for me. While this hits pretty hard and good as X But it's just not on the same level or atleast better in any way.
Pros:
- Incredible acing (Mia Goth only)
- Great replica of 70s horror slasher movies
- Good atmosphere and setting
- Overall vibe of the movie
cons:
- Predictable
- the cliche stupidity of others
- bland soundtrack
- You screaming at the screen pulling your hair off knowing what will happen next but the victim has no idea.
Overall, I say watch this first then X cause it make a lot more sense afterwards.
Nope (2022)
NOPE... This wasn't it.
Alright, what's the problem with this film you ask?
Well, Before I go rampage mode on the issues I've found let me point out some of the good ones first.
1) Good cast
2) Top-notch cinematography and CGI
3) Great soundtrack
4) Distinctive and not so cliche.
With that out of the way let's get to the MAIN reason why it felt problematic.
Way too long and boring,
Repetetive scenarios,
Lack of engagement
Absolutely no horror aspect to it to be called horror worthy.
It's like a good steak but burned up with no salt and pepper.
Overall, the reason I watched this film was mainly because of Jordan Peele's great history with thriller films and his talent for script writing and directing.
The Old Way (2023)
Big bruh moment.
First and foremost I must say the only reason I decided to watch this film was only beacause of Nicolas Cage. I wouldn't have watched it any other way.
So... what was the problem you ask?
-Bad acting,
-poor choice of soundtrack/music,
-poor choice of words in certain scenarios aka dialogues.
-Expected ending
-No excitement during the whole film, bland and boring.
Bonus: I was yawning the whole time after about 15 minutes in and hoping for it to end asap.
The film was trying so hard to potray a badass, cruel and stoneface/emotionless gunslinger throughout the whole film even though the actions that took place thrughout the film has its sad and deceiving moments and yet it turns out someone elase is even more of a bad ass than the main protagionist.
Overall, huge dissapointment.
M3GAN (2022)
Terminator but as a child but as a Terminator...?
I dont get it... why would you build a child robot that is meant to "act" and be "manufactured" in a child-friendly way into an undestructible and totally invincible object made out of possibly titanium?
If you're creating a robot it should be made out of plastic or silicon. That is, if we're talking about the head and the face of the robot at least.
The part where the neighbour said to the police officer "That girl who stays awake and looks out the window at 3 am" while trying to convince him that the reason her dog was missing had something to do with (Williams) doesn't make sense. So she is infact awake herself at that time to notice and see M3GAN but yet she didn't notice her dog went missing at that time?
Overall it was an intriguing yet totally expected not so horror type movie. Get it? No? Noice!
The Black Phone (2021)
I.T on weed...
For me, personally, i likes the cast and the soundtrack.
The cast is very well played. Finn and her sister Gwen had an absolutely great chemistry with each other as siblings... kinda of a relationship i wish i had with a brother or sister I've never had. Anyway, about the film, It's alright to say the least. Very similar to I. T although some might disagree. There are some scenes which totally doesn't make sense but i'm not going to spoil it. Conclusion, if you're like me who doesn't watch horror movies but still wants to experience something in between I recommend you check this out.
A Bad Moms Christmas (2017)
Just watch it... the cast is pretty funny.
Its actually pretty funny. Not as bad as people say but its decent. Although, there are some things I disagree with the whole plot and the initiative behind this and the previous film but in the sense of comedy its okay.
All the Bright Places (2020)
Predictable, but also very good
I really enjoyed this movie from what it had to offer and the overall message and how it delivered it so clearly. Its very similar to "Chemical Hearts". Although movies like this are quite predictable but they definitely don't fail to keep you waiting for something to happen. In the movie (NOT A SPOILER) it goes over mental problems dealing with Suicide, Child abuse and detrimental effect of wrong actions in ones life. If you like Romantic/Drama then check it out. Not to mention Justice Smith's incredible performance.
Hotel Transylvania: Transformania (2022)
The franchise is ruined. Absolutely horrible
By far the worst movie in the Hotel Transylvania franchise. It felt like it was made for 5 year olds. They were trying way too hard to make the audience laugh or enjoy this movie specific. But it was just boring and all over the place. When you compare this with the first 2 releases you can really tell the difference, I've watched the first one over god knows how many times on different occasions and it never disappointed me ever. This really took a wild turn. A very hard pass from me, 4/10.
X (2022)
Predictable, but very good
If you wanna see a topless granny go nuts on everyone then this is for you. What I likes about this is the fact that its not spontaneous and its somewhat a slow burner and also very predictable. But, just like in any horror slasher movie the cast plays very dumb in predictable situations.
Hotel Transylvania (2012)
Golden
Absolutely loved it. Watched it multiple times on different occasions and never got bored. If you've been perhaps living under a rock you're missing out on some good animation. My only concern about it is that its not really suitable for kids and so that's why i rate it 8/10.
Morbius (2022)
Serious talk, i don't copy other peoples reviews.
When it first got announced i doubted whether or not i should watch it since there was a tremendous amount of memes and hate thrown at this movie. I'm gonna review this based on my own personal opinion and why i rated 6/10.
1) The opening scene was unnecessary/could have been better but it was bland and didn't make any sense.
2) The idea of creating a character that rely on blood is overly exaggerated and so cliche.
3) Morbius, or i should say Dr. Michael Morbius is the protagonist here and so the name "Morbius" can't be used for other people like Milo who took the serum and turned to be like him... meaning the title of the movie is a bit off.
4) Medically this movie is misleading and all in all inaccurate. The idea of injecting or merging human DNA with bat DNA doesn't turn you into a superhuman being with ultra sense of hearing.
That's about it. Did i enjoy the movie? Well i would if i was 10 but i'm 20.
Red Notice (2021)
The trio we didn't know we want but needed.
They basically play as themselves, and they smashed it. Also, this movie probably has one of the best trailers and teasers I have ever seen. Much credit and love to the production team. Hopefully they come up with a part 2 as great as the first one.
Holidate (2020)
Meh
Not the best Rom-Com I've watched but i guess it was something. This movie really has a stigma of showing you how to friend-zone your potential future partner. Also, I feel like everyone is entitled to their own personal life and trying to push them into a relationship (in this case the mother) they think they might not be ready for is not very ideal which is something that was covered a lot in this movie. Overall, I say watch it if you have nothing else to watch.
Good Boys (2019)
I've never laughed this hard in my entire life.
There's really not much I can say about this movie other than its hilarious. Also, it's a comedy movie meaning it shouldn't be taken serious since there are some scenes where you might question how and why certain things happened. The acting was well done, the opening and ending scene was also very well put together. It's also from Seth Rogen soo... you kinda know what you might expect from his movies. I wouldn't mind if they come up with a sequel cause I've never laughed this hard in my life.
The Batman (2022)
One of the best Batman movies created.
From Twilight to The Batman is a huge jump and Robert. P acted incredibly. What I enjoyed about this movie is that there is a balance between action and adventure/detective side of the movie. Although it was long but it didn't bore me or exhaust me in any way. Robert Pattinson and Ben Afflec both did a great job at being a good batman and their acting is notable. There was really nothing wrong with movie and so it deserves a solid 10/10 from me. Thanks to the production team behind it, you guys absolutely smashed it.
Ron's Gone Wrong (2021)
A really good 2022 animated movie
I really enjoyed it. I come back once in a while watching animated cartoons like these just to hype up and this specifically did not disappoint at all. The ending could have, however, been a little better but overall really good animated movie. Thanks tot he voice actors, they really smashed it.
