Two Strangers Who Meet Five Times (2017)
Good Story
The short film "Two Strangers Who Meet Five Times" is the story of two men.
Alistair and Samir meet five times. This movie starts when I meet for the second time. Samir is at an automated teller machine and is taking some time. Alistair waits for Samir to finish, but he's late. White Alistair is frustrated waiting for Samir, a Middle Eastern-looking man who is slowly trying to withdraw cash. Alistair makes a discriminatory remark to him and Samir leaves. In the next scene, Samir is the CEO, and Alistair's nasty behavior prevents Alistair from getting a job. A few years later, Samir meets Alistair, who is now homeless, and understands what happened to Alistair after the job interview. Samir doesn't seem to remember him, but he is kind to him and finally gives him money.
This story is a little different in composition. The composition of this story helps to understand how Alistair's emotions change throughout the scene. I also like the irony that Alistair will finally be kind to Samir, even if it doesn't behave well at first.
At the end, I was glad that they had a good relationship. I recommend this short film.
Otousan no tabako (2007)
Impressive Movie
This short film "Otousan no tabako" is a heartwarming story. The little girl has to buy a cigarette for her father who is sick and can't move out of bed. Her father asks to buy it over and over again, so even though she knows that cigarettes are bad for her health, she manages to get it over and over again. Increase. One day, her mother realizes she buys a lot of cigarettes, and when her cigarettes are unhealthy and kill people, she keeps her away.
What I really liked about this short story was how it portrayed the father and daughter relationship. Fathers rarely appear, but viewers can see how much a girl loves her father in a way that does whatever it takes to satisfy her father's desires. Of course, there are also heartwarming moments that come from having a deep bond with her father.
I was very impressed to see this short film. In short, I definitely recommend looking at this.
Whacked (1997)
Amazing Movie
This story is an interesting story that you will be surprised at. There are two points in this movie. An ambulance siren barks and a street person suddenly falls to the ground. I don't fully understand what happened, so I'm staring at it.
The protagonist does not seem to be a high-paying job, he works at a driving range and is likely not satisfied with his job. Because of this, he goes to the top of the building, hits the ball every day, and takes revenge on the people.
The concept is very simple, but this movie expresses it in a very unique way. That is why we are fascinated by this story. It is unpredictable how it will unfold. It's only a five-minute movie, but in the end it reveals the mysterious truth of the collapsing corpse!
Spielzeugland (2007)
Good Movie
The movie "Toyland" is set in Nazi Germany. It is a film that impresses with heavy content.
The sons of each family, Heinrich and David, are very close friends taking piano lessons together. However, David's house is Jewish and Heinrich is non-Jewish German. One morning, David's family is about to be taken to an internment camp. Heinrich, a young child, asks his mother Marianne why David's family has to go so soon. But Marianne can't tell her true story to her son Heinrich. And she tells her son that David's family is going to "Toyland". When the family goes, Heinrich says he wants to follow him and be with his best friend David. The lies she tells her son backfire.
This movie is cleverly made in chronological order. One is children's piano lessons. In parallel, is when David's family are taken by the Nazis. And it's the morning when the David family is finally taken away. I thought Marianne's decision to bring David back was great. Marianne takes David back to her home and he grows up with Heinrich as her own son.
I was impressed by the two old hands playing the piano, showing that David survived and developed his friendship with Heinrich.
"Toyland" tells us that war can make people crazy and deprive them of their normal lives.
Fish Out of Water (2005)
Interesting Movie
The short film "Fish Out of Water" is a story about a young man's little event in his life. The young man, the main character, avoids traffic jams and goes to work by boat every day. The man is discovered using a boat by a woman and decided to give her a lift. After that, the number of people who want to get on the boat increases, and the man becomes disgusted.
The most notable feature of this movie is the lack of dialogue. I think it has the advantage of inspiring the imagination of the viewer. The people who got on the boat in the movie are also characteristic, and the lack of dialogue makes us imagine what they think. Even though there was no dialogue, I found that one man was hateful because he made the boat heavy. The idea that no one can use the boat in the last scene is interesting. I think this movie is very interesting and worth watching.
Three Days in Kamakura (2012)
Impressive Movie
The film "Three Days in Kamakura" is a story about a Japanese woman and a British man. They are a couple. They do not have a child. The husband, David, works as an English teacher for young children. The wife, Keiko, seems close to a nervous breakdown. Maybe the reason is a neighbor, Mrs. Yamada. One day a boy, a student of David, is left behind in school and his mother never returns. Concerned about the child, David takes him to his house and suggests to Keiko that they raise him as their own child.
Through this series of incidents, the couple changes little by little. I think Keiko's acting is really sensitive and wonderful, and her facial expressions and attitudes represent a change in her mind. David's acting was also great, and I could feel his kindness and affection for his wife from start to finish. Music is also good. It is easy to empathize with the BGM set for each scene in the movie.
In this movie, a small event leads to a big change in the family. That can happen in our life, so viewers can have sympathy with this movie. Indeed content of this story is not funny but thoughtful. I like this movie.
J'attendrai le suivant... (2002)
Interesting Movie
The short film "I'll wait for the next one" is about a woman's experience on a subway train. On the train, a man caught the attention of passengers and announced that he was single and looking for a marriage partner. Also, he says he wants someone who is interested in him to get off at the next station. The woman heard the man's announcement and had an interesting conversation with another man and got off at the next station with her interest.
The great thing about this short film is that you can feel the ups and downs of emotions with the protagonist. Focusing on camera work, you can see that she is interested in talking to men and smiles in various scenes. In the scene where she is left at the station, two men are acting and you can see that she has a stunned and sad expression.
There are emotional ups and downs in a short amount of time, and this short film that you can't miss until the end is very interesting.
Lifted (2006)
Cute movie
The short film "Lifted" is a story about a young alien being evaluated for spacecraft operation. However, it is difficult for him to take a sleeping man out of the house, and he cannot take the man. He is frustrated by the many switches on the spacecraft. Finally he pushes a lot of the switches and hits the man against the wall of the house. The characters in this movie are distinctive, and the texture of the instructor's slime body is interesting. It's smooth and elastic, and I like the feeling that it's a little slimy. It is also interesting to express the alien's feelings with the antenna of the helmet that he is wearing. The first BGM of this movie was serious, but it's interesting, contrary to the slapstick that's actually happening on the spacecraft. In the scene of kidnapping a man, the painful collision sound of the man is outstanding. I think this movie is worth seeing and interesting because of the difference between the serious atmosphere and the actual comedy.
Knick Knack (1989)
Great movie
The short film "KNICK KNACK" is a story about a snow globe snowman struggling to escape from the inside. He uses a variety of tools, such as hammers, drills, and dynamite, to meet beautiful women, but it's hard to get out.
The reason I like this short film is that the desperate snowman is so cute and is a soothing character. It's interesting that he also does dangerous things to escape from the snow globe. The depiction of the snowman trying to get out of the snow globe is very cute and makes me smile. I was laughing at the ending. Also, this movie has no dialogue, only BGM. The calm BGM conveys the cuteness of the snowman to the viewer. I am soothed because the BGM and expression of the snowman are very good.
For these reasons this movie is very interesting and I like it. I think this movie will make you forget your tiredness.
Father and Daughter (2000)
Moving short film
The short film "Father and Daughter" is a very sad animated story about the life of a father and daughter. The father suddenly disappears on a boat somewhere. After that, his daughter has a family, grows old and waits for him to come back, but he never comes back.
Instead of dialogue, this movie has expressive music and pictures. I'm impressed with the background music after the daughter breaks up with her father. It made me sad and pulled me into the story. Also, I thought that the video of this movie was monochrome and expressed the sadness of the daughter. I could understand her loneliness in the scene of riding her bicycle and waiting for her father.
This movie is very moving and makes me think about my family. I was very happy with the ending that the daughter's wish came true. I think this movie is very worth watching.
