Two Different halves

I was very surprise to see how a film can perform equally good and equally bad in two different halves. First Half was excellent, Good acting, well choreographed action sequences and brilliant songs. 2nd half is as pathetic as you can never believe how a script can change from brilliance to awful. The story, scenes everything seems exhausted and film was just dragging in the and I was hoping let the misery end soon. acting wise everyone was good and specially Shahid Kapoor this is his best performance till date and after giving rows of flops this was a life saviour for him. Sonakshi and Sonu Sood were equally good and rest of the cast was well supported. Prabhudeva has proved himself that he is one of the best masala director. Film is entertainer but only till first half. if you want to take good memories of this film leave after intermission, believe me you won't be missing anything except few pathetic scenes and predictable climax.

A Very Bad Bad Movie

I found this movie on Internet, Title was interesting, but movie was equally bad. Bad acting, Bad Direction, Bad Screenplay, Bad editing, the only nice thing I have to say about this movie is it's music and Story. Story was average but was handled very amateurishly. Anuj was very flat as if he was always in COMA expressionless face, I think Udita did this movie for money or relation, rest of the cast nothing to say anything. It's predictable story of a commando who is found at the wrong place at wrong time, rest of the film is mindless chase, with lots of twist which can be predicted as the film progresses Final word below average film avoid it.

Raanjhanaa (2013)

Exxxxcellent Movie

I avoided this movie when it released because I was a writing a screenplay and backdrop of my story was Varanasi too and people told me till now no one has shown Banaras as it has been portrayed in this movie. Yesterday I watched this movie on it's TV premiere and i was spellbound, for a single second I could not find any actor Kundan (Dhanush), Zoya (Sonam, Bindiya (Swara Bhaskar) and Murari (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) they looked like typical Banarasi and they took this movie to another level. Story is always a base of any film and this film delivers, except few scenes in second half you cannot pinpoint on anything, screenplay, dialogues, acting, excellent. one-liner was highlight of this film and most of them you can find in the gallis of Banaras. If Dhanush ruled the first half as innocent lover, Sonam Kapoor was awesome in second half. overall I will count this movie as one of the finest work of Hindi Cinema. Hats off to it's Director Mr. Anand Rai, I give it 9 out of 10 for a complete film.

Frozen (2007)

Nice but dull

I avoided this movie for almost a year, as it was in my collection, not because I fear realistic films but it's synopsis did not impressed me much. I liked this movie in parts specially first 15 minutes where almost all the story has been told. Cinematography is brilliant, Direction is good but movie seems nothing more than a semi-documentary. Shivajee Chandrabhushan has made this film for himself, he must have some idea in his mind and he let it untold, the simple story looked more pseudo intellectual than a real story, most of the new directors are trapped in this selection. Certainly this film is made for International market not for Indian taste and that may be the reason this film did not got proper release in India. Danny Denzongpa was brilliant in his role and he hits the bull's eye with his subdued performance, but the show stealer was Gauri who looks so real and girl next door that it never appears that she is sharing space with stalwarts like Danny and yashpal Sharma. I give this film 5 Votes out of 10 for Cinematography and acting skills but this film do not impress me.

Road to Sangam (2009)

A different taste

In one line I would say this movie is different and very simple. Paresh Rawal has done a brilliant job as expected from his caliber. Film Starts with a orthodox Muslim thoughts but ends in a positive way. Gandhism was as relevant 60 years as it is now this is the base story of this film. there are few loopholes and few fact failing about Allahabad but overall proper research work has been done, and Director Amit Rai and Writer wanted to add all of the facts and research in this film making this movie a documentary and slow, at least this movie should have been 30 minutes shorter and less dramatic at the end. Om Puri and Pawan Malhotra try too hard for their role but fails, Javed Sheikh and other supporting cast are impressive. Last word for Cinematography, I have never seen Allahabad so beautiful as in this movie, and I think this is the only movie completely shot in Allahabad. Credit goes to Director, My Vote 7 out of 10, 3 marks dedicated for Slowness, Dramatic ending and too much preaching. Finally, do watch this movie again for the climax seen where People are beaten by Policemen who are walking with Gandhi Jee's Car... A violence in Non-violence message film...Mistake in editing..

Don't Watch it

If People crack Jokes on Hindi Cinema, because these kind of movies made in 8o's. Producer-Director Rajkumar Kohli had good connection with Stars of 70's and he pored them all. It has no story, no continuity, Action funny and scenes come out as if the whole film is written on shooting location. Story starts with confusion who is the son of whom and director maintain this confusion throughout the film. One of the biggest star cast of Dharmendra, Sunil Dutt, Raaj Kumar, Kamal Hassan, Hema Malini, Rina Rai was a total waste. Rajkumar Kohli made one good movie "Naagin" and he just tried to repeat the multi-cast affair in all his films. It is one of the Stupid Film of 80's Try to avoid it at any cost.

Must Watch

This cannot be said movie, but a nice documentary on Indian Films. Krisha Shah has done a brilliant job in collection of masterpiece of Indian cinema, Specially Hindi Films. Cinema Cinema gives you the inside history of Films and system of film making in India. I liked this movie because he has put it as simple and focused on the masala era of Hindi movies. We all know 70's is the golden era of Hindi Film Industry, at least that time it was not called "Bollywood". Documentary is collection of clipping of the movies released from 1905 to 1978. Narrated by stars of 70's Amitabh, Dhamendra, hema and Zeenat Aman. each and every segment is properly covered, my recommendation everyone should watch this docu-movie. A sub-plot also runs with this documentary where various character sitting in a old kind of Indian theater and enjoying this documentary, that is rare in Multiplex era. Enjoy

Paparazzi in Hindi

Just Translate "Paparazzi" in Hindi and you will find Vishesh Film's Showbiz... This is not a new thing Mahesh Bhatt has done this throughout his life and shamelessly admit it also... so just go and watch one more direct lift of a Hollywood movie.. or on second thought why not watch the original even that is also not a very good one. The difference is in the original film, Hero is upcoming Actor and in Showbiz he is upcoming Singer, rest of the cast is almost same. Mukesh Bhatt was unable to get permission to shoot on original Locations so he had to adjust in screenplay and for that he can take credit.. And About songs, just watch few of the pakastani Videos you will find most of the Bhatt's Camp Songs inspired (Lifted) from there. The only original thing they are doing is earning from these coppers but this time even this was big let down for them...
