The Haunted Hathaways (2013)
Terrible
Another brainless nickelodeon title that copy pastes the same plotline of having a supernatural party interract with those who have no abilities in a sassy-friendly way. It lacks creativity, the characters are ALL flat and having no personality, the comedy falls flat and is drowned under laugh tracks every 5 seconds. Basic cinematography power point transitions with lazy at best CGI work for the ghost powers/effects. As for the argument the show is meant for children, I raise the counter that even children should have standards this show fails to meet- or we have the risk of a low standard generation to come.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
Loved the action, writing could've been better.
The high octane web swinging, the heart stopping spidey sense reaction time, the grunge Harry Osborne portrayal couple together to make a great action film. This spiderman feels more like the ultimate spiderman rather than the typical peter parker we are used to. In that he has confidence, he is strong without guidance (naturally talented), and head over heels for gwen stacy. Without spoiling, this movie tackles spidermans greatest sacrafices with his home/hero life balance and how terrible both become once they begin to bleed into each other and it does so perfectly. The casted actor for Harry Osborne is beyond perfect in his role and almost gives you more of a glimpse from his performance from THE CHRONICLE. Jamie Fox's Electro dialogue was abit corny and flat in a bad way, he was supposed to be a nerd but it just didn't meet the bar in terms of how fast his characters EGO transitioned upon the events in the film. In totality, this is a great spiderman title and will go down in history for its unique take on the friendly neighborhood web-head.
Black Summer (2019)
Realistic.
I fell in love with this show for the cinematography, the intricate characters, and the griping realism. This title is imbued with realism, nothing is out of proportion for what I expect a real zombie apocalypse would come to be in America. The pacing is steady, good, the way they tell the story through multiple point of views allows for different perspective, in real time-same time- events without the cliche zombie show flashbacks. It almost feels as if you are playing a video game, guiding yourself through the story as the different characters and their choices given we don't have much of their background, only their present which is beautiful.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005)
This is THE BEST sitcom I have ever seen.
This show is beyond funny. This show is EVERYTHING a comedy should be. It it doesn't tell you when to laugh with incessant laugh tracks, it doesn't disguise itself under misleading and overly convoluted plotlines, it doesn't take itself too seriously. The writing is jovial, fun, exciting, the characters are over the top barrels of bad character traits and you love them for it. Everyone plays their role, and still you don't know what to expect next. Excellent.
