Fringe (2008)
Fantastic show with one of the best cliffhangers in 2010 (spoiler)
This show has grown tremendously in the second season, I simply have to watch every single episode. The first season starts out a little shaky and you can't really see where this is going but now I cannot wait for season 3. The cliffhanger with the two Olivias switching universes is just too much to bear until September! I love how they're letting John Noble's character grow, and I wonder how much of Walternate we're going to be seeing in season 3. It would be interesting to see him play both roles. The team is great, with each actor having a very specific identity and I hope they can somehow let alternate-Charlie stay in, he's been sorely missed.
New in Town (2009)
So not worth the low rating!
This movie is hilarious! I usually go by IMDb's rating and so the 5.3 average got me entering the movie theater reluctantly. Boy, was I surprised.
OK, I'm sure Minnesotans feel they're being made fun of. Even to my Dutch ears the Minnesotan accent sounds more French than anything. But movies never get a Dutch or German accent perfect either so I just accept it and don't let it spoil the fun.
Sure, the story is predictable, but it is a comedy. It has been ages since I laughed so hard in a movie theater (and I go almost weekly) during the scene where Renee's character has to pee in the woods.
If you want to have a good laugh, go see this movie!
Bride Flight (2008)
In one word 'amazing'
This is a fantastic film. The trailer for this film tells of a passionate love affair between two people who can't be together. OK, the film is about these two people, but it is about so much more! The bond between these four people who met on a plane in 1953. The secrets some of them kept for 55 years. The expectations of starting a new life in a new country. And the scenery is amazing. I love New Zealand, and I thoroughly enjoyed the background in the film. I recommend this film to anyone. Although, fair to say, I guess it's more of a girl's film. It's an epic drama; there are no car chases or high tech gadgets. This is what a film is supposed to be. And the 130 minutes fly by! Also pay attention to the beautiful song at the end.
