Independent films can be entertaining and/or enlightening... This is neither!
13 August 2010
I love independent films. For the most part, you must take some with a grain of salt to get through them. Sometimes they are so raw that you must look deep for the message, or meaning. And some have a simple provocative controversial thought they are trying to relay. You must take into account that these films are made on a shoe string budget and make allowances. Actually, I like the feel of the low budget Independent movies. With all that said, this movie wasn't worth the $ 500,000 they spent to make it.

I saw this recently at one of our Independent Film movie theatres, "The Roxie" for a modest ticket price of $3.00. I spend more on a sandwich than this, but I and many more in the theatre wanted our money back. What a waste of time. I think my time is worth more than that, but they all can't be winners.

Please remember that if you still decide to see it after you read my blurb and you agree that it sucked, "I told you so"

Little Chocolatiers (2010– )

Creative and a "Little" funny :)
4 August 2010
This series is one of many food or "little people" reality shows out there today. What makes this one stand out is that you actually like the characters/people right away. It really doesn't seem scripted like all the others. I know it is, but they're not obvious about it. It's entertaining and creative with a side order of funny. Who doesn't like chocolate? I watched a few episodes of the "Cake Boss" and when they unveil their cakes to their clients, people applaud and that's about it. When the Little Chocolatiers unveil their creations, the clients immediately rip it apart in a feeding frenzy. Again I ask, who doesn't like chocolate? LOL ... Watch one episode and judge for yourself.

Brilliant and Moving

This movie has been on my list of movies to watch, but for some reason I simply never got around to it. Finally, I had the pleasure of viewing it last night at home in HD and was pleasantly surprised. I knew it had received high ratings, but I had never expected it to be so good. I am really not an intellectual person, but I could really appreciate the emotional history of this instrument. Without giving too much away, it seemed like this red violin had a life of it's own. I wish I could have given it a higher rating then 10. Quit putting this off and watch it. You will be glad you did. There are a few subtitles, which I don't usually care for, but I got use to it very quickly. Two thumbs up!!!

The Good Guys (2010)

Terrible Comedy Series
9 July 2010
This has to be one of the worst TV shows out there. Boaring and not worth your time. Tom Hanks must be very disappointed. I can't see this being around for long. There seems to be too much pointless dialogue. It's like the "actors" phoned it in. I like, "The Office", "Parks & Rec", " Community ", " The Middle ", " Modern Family" etc. So believe me when I say that this show is bad...it is really bad. I guess people are forced to watch it because nothing is really on in the summer except reruns of the shows that are any good. So putting this loser show on in the summer is smart because there is not much to turn the channel to and we might even get use to it over time.

Yawn!!!

This has to be the worst movie I have seen in a while. This movie is a poor "Grudge" wannabe. It also seemed like the actors were performing in a Canadian high school play. I usually get scared easily and so does my wife, but she fell asleep in the theater while I kept getting more upset that I paid for two ticket when I might have had a better time listening to my mother-in-law talk about how I could better myself. If I had to sum it up, I could say this was a Chick-Flick Horror, but my chick wife didn't even like it. I think that if would have been nice to make it into a TV movie instead like they do with the poor Steven King movies. At least that way I could turn it off without worrying about getting my money's worth. Who do I talk to, about getting my movie ticket money back!
