A top notch film with two of the biggest actors in Hollywood
14 February 2002
Conspiracy Theory is a funny, fast paced film telling the story of a man who sees conspiracies everywhere. Then one day, he finds out he may not be as crazy as they think he is. *Mel Gibson gets 2 thumbs up in the role as Jerry Fletcher. *Julia Roberts and Patrick Stewert both get thumbs up for their roles as attorney and bad guy respectively. *The surprise of the film is Cylk Cozart as Agent Lowry, an FBI agent who attempts to put the dots together. Also, the musical score is excellent.

Steller musical with an emotional story
14 February 2002
Ahhh, this is what a musical should be. Eddie and the Cruisers is the story of a one hit wonder band that is experiencing a revival in their music 18 years later. A reporter believes that the lead singer, who died before the second album could come out, is still alive and hiding somewhere. *Michael Pare gets thumbs up for his performance as the moody and philisophical lead singer. *Tom Berenger also receives a thumbs up for his role as word man, the writer of the songs. *However, the number 1 reason to see this film is the burning hot music. The Dark Side is a song that still receives radio airplay, Wild Summer Nights is a classic jaunt into the land of rock & roll, and Tender Years is one of the most beautiful and heartfelt songs to be featured in a movie. Recommended for music lovers.

One of the greatest performances in screen history
14 February 2002
The Three Faces of Eve tells the story of a slightly shy and repressed young woman who is having various spells of amnesia. When she is taken to a psychiatrist, she discovers that she has split personalities and the movie tells of her battles to lead a normal life. *Joanne Woodward gives possibly the best performance any women has given in a starring role as Eve White, Eve Black, and Jane. Definitely a Hall of Fame roll. *Lee J. Cobb also gets thumbs up for his role as the doctor who attempts to solve the puzzle of Eve's personality. A must see movie if only to appreciate the leading star.

Unbreakable (2000)
The best film of 2000
13 February 2002
Warning: Spoilers
Unbreakable is the second film from the director who brought us Sixth Sense and proves that he is not just a one hit wonder. In my opinion, Unbreakable is even better then Sixth Sense. To begin with, Bruce Willis gives a stunning performance is the lead role as a man who wakes up as the only survivor of a deadly train crash. He is superb in the role and he demonstrates immense amounts of anger, sadness, and eventually amazement with the truth of his past. His performance is a 5 star. Samuel L. Jackson also turns in an excellent portrayal of the oft injured comic book collector who seems to constently badger Willis with his odd theories. The filming is terrific and the musical score is excellent, especially the scene in the station as Willis descends the stairs. The twist is again stunning, although slightly more believable then in Sixth Sense. (Slight spoiler) One note, when Willis enters the house after following the man, listen for the TV upstairs. It is playing the U.F.C. Ultimate Ultimate match b/t Ken Shamrock and Brian Johnston. Just a slight hint at Willis's invincablitity.

Drop Zone (1994)
Enjoy this hearty action movie
13 February 2002
Drop Zone is an action ride from start to finish starring Wesley Snipes as a detective hunting down the men who killed his brother. No, the movie won't win any academy awards, but it is a thoroughly enjoyable action romp. The action is excellent, the girls are gorgeous, and the musical score is top notch. If you go in looking for a touching movie, don't bother. But if you just want something to enjoy for a couple hours of visual fun that requires little mental exercise, this will do quite nicely.
