Kingdom of Heaven (2005)
Worth seeing, but too long
In essence I think this movie is an original and excellent attempt at portraying a specific period of history in the middle ages, but for me there wasn't enough going on in the plot to keep me interested. The final battle where Saladin lays siege to Jerusalem and eventually wins its surrender goes on for something like 20-30 minutes! I mean everybody enjoys a good battle but enough is enough! I believe it would have benefited from some tighter editing to reduce its length to something like 100-110 minutes instead of 140 minutes. In terms of religious bias, I think the film was very balanced in its portrayal of Muslims and Christians.
The Score (2001)
Great entertainment, spoiled by Brando
Great plot with some interesting characters. The roles of De Niro and Ed Norton are very well acted and completely believable. The thing which spoiled it moderately for me was the acting of Marlon Brando - he seemed like he was mostly improvising, poorly. His character is a kind of Mr Big in a high-rolling world of art and jewelry theft, but he comes across as some sort of chardonnay-drinking socialite, without any ruthlessness to speak of.
After having a read through some the DVD extras (see the Bios section) it seems to suggest that Marlon created a few "disturbances" on-set, to say the least!

Replikator (1994)
Cybertrash
This movie is a real piece of cybertrash, being so badly put together it is more like a comedy. Its also filled with some bizarre props and settings... there is one bit in a futuristic video game arcade which advertises the latest reality game titled "Tank Commander in Tienanmen Square..." !!!
