Stranger Things 3: The Game (2019)
Good but could be better
Sorry, I can't say it's perfect, especially when I saw the stereotype of the Soviet soldiers. Although I don't know what they were actually, I'm sure they weren't like the way that they are described in drama. And I don't like this narrative way, like people find something separately and finally, they are together to fight against the certain horrible beast that shouldn't have been in this world. Everything seems really smooth.
And I got it, I know what sucks in this season, it's Mike. Mike is really childish and Lucas is either. A little selfish and full of useless words. I just wanna say director and editor allocate functions to everyone otherwise Lucas is a redundant roles that should be deleted in this season.
The Last of Us (2023)
see the humanity...
Haven't finished it yet, but i still can't believe the third episode, too beautiful to believe that exists in doomsday, every frame makes me think that will be the last good memory. Thanks god, they have a happy ending, bravo. Image that Joel and Tess have a extremely-beautiful memory about living together. It's really lucky for bill to meet decent Joel, it's also lucky for Joel to meet Bill who transform from survivalist to someone who wanna save and protect others.
I like that feeling, glorious humanity shines through at the end of day. We really return the earth to the beings, not just human beings, all plants and all animals.
9-1-1: Lone Star (2020)
like Carlos and TK
To be honest, i didn't miss any season and any episode coz i really like Carlo's appearance and TK's experience. I can feel the feeling that TK had. But he still is an angle. They deserve a happy end after going through ups and downs.
I just feel shocked when i know that Carlos has married a girl although this is a misguide to avoid a fight with his parents. I hope the director and editors can give them a happy ending. I really look forward to their wedding, romantic wedding, i think that will happen at the end of Season 4. Maybe that's the biggest surprise for all the audiences.
Actually, that couple is the only motivation to let me keep watching thus series.
Severance (2022)
separate work from our lives, do more harm than good?
The aesthetic sense of Apple is always excellent. I like every frame of episodes. I like the color and layout of the office. But this series has the same problem as Shining Girls. That is the crushingly slow narrative. Especially it is really low at the first several episodes, which almost me give up watching. So I turned up the play speed to 2.0x that made me watch to the end.
I think this series reflect a common issue among east-asian young group. Separating work from life does really make us much happier. The human nature drives us to explore something we think makes no sense. Maybe work and private life are uniform intuitively.
Shining Girls (2022)
excellent but narrative is a little bit slow
To be honest, i haven't watch all episodes at once. At the every beginning i gave up after the half of the first episode because it's a little boring and don't give audiences bullet points. And after almost one month or so ( i don't remember clearly) I re-watch this drama produced by Apple, and I stand the really boring the first two episodes, since then whole structure of story is gradually clear. After watching it all, my opinion is that it is a super mixture of series-killer and supernatural power. I'm almost obsessed with it.
But my friend told me she really feel afraid and scary when she watched this movie, i don't have the same feeling...
Juvenile Justice (2022)
Judges are parents of juvenile
'why are u so obsessed with the processing efficiency, if these criminals fail to catch up with us... our ultimate goal is to educate them, give them a chance to make amends...' although i have no idea which episode the line is from, it is really impressive on me. The lead female character has a invisible scar at the bottom of heart, which make her put up a strong front. She kill to prevent from any similar tragedy. She doesn't care the hierarchy of Justice, she puts the same much efforts to every case, although she make a mistake about the obstruction of justice, she still a model in this field.
Heartstopper (2022)
strong recommendation
This is the first time I strongly recommended LGBT drama to my friends. And I binge it several times. Charlie is really cute and can accept who he is, which attracts Nick. The relationship and friendship are super amazing. Charlie always has someone to company him to experience ups and downs, of course he deserves it.
It's said that the season two of heartstopper is approaching. I am looking forward to watching as soon as possible. Curious about where the romantic relationship go, hope it would be a happing end because our reality is full of various unexpected difficulties, we need sweeteners to recharge ourselves!
Naui Haebangilji (2022)
it's boring but full of magic
The drama captures a typical lifestyle of east asian young people, like can't have a good day. I really can feel this way because i'm currently among them.
This drama is really boring for me, but it's really magical to motivate me to watch it to the end.
I really like the performance of the female lead character: she looks so beautiful but it's nearly 100 percent possible to disappear in the crowd. But that can help us to build up confidence. Appearance is not the only factor make you shine, personality and other things also can make you shine and make you popular. I like the younger brother, he is a model i think for everyone who is working hard for a living.
The Menu (2022)
good but not enough
To be honest, i think the story is not complete when the film is over. And the skills of the director can't help him to express his core whole meaning. The only one layer of meaning i can understand is that chef wanna revenge. He wants to take everyone who ruin his life. I don't understand that why the chef let the female lead character escape, which doesn't line in with the words chef said: let her choose to join his team or keep being a guest. I watch this movie coz i really like Anya, her eyes are the only motivation to let me watch this movie to the end.
To sum up, this movie is a little bit disappointing, at least for me.
This Is Going to Hurt (2022)
feel hurt during watching
Just really really feel hurt when Shurti chose to commit suicide finally, which means a broken dream. I just can't image the real workplace where the NHS medical staffs stand. Seems like every country in the earth take it grant that the public hospitals staffs should work based on love and passion and faith. But they are fathers, mothers, sons, daughters or spouses. Don't let the working life ruin their private life like Adam. Not everyone has good luck like Adam, he find a reliable partner who always get his back. I really am jealous of that.
Lastly hope more investment and attention put in this.
