Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is a cinematic masterpiece!
I truly wonder why this movie got such a low rating... It's a swashbuckling return to the beloved franchise filled with new characters and an amazing plot. Absolutely the best PotC movie.
Top five reasons this movie is awesome:
1. Johnny Depp is devilishly good as Captain Jack (again)
2. Penelope Cruz is absolutely mesmerizing
3. Ian McShane delivers an incredibly haunting performance as
Blackbeard
4. The locations guys!
5. Amazing CG and all that epic music by Hans Zimmer
Overall, this movie is an incredibly enjoyable watch for any fans of PotC and Disney in general. Still can't understand the negative reviews!!
Black Adam (2022)
I want to like Black Adam, but...
Black Adam had me pretty excited from the trailer, it all looked good. A depressing letdown when I actually watched it! It's pretty bad from the start. The opening sequence has some horrible scripting and even worse sets. There's not enough backstory at all and it feels like the whole film revolves around things that we never know! I'll be completely honest, if The Rock wasn't in it, I wouldn't be able to stand it! The entire thing feels very disjointed and the second half was generic, even down to the bad cg. The writers of Black Adam clearly didn't have enough time and that's ultimately what sent this movie downhill.
National Treasure: Edge of History (2022)
Surprisingly Enjoyable
I was surprisingly impressed based on all the negative reviews! It's certainly not the cleanest or most well written show out there (the script made me cringe several times) but it was still a really enjoyable watch. The reason for all the hate is because everyone is comparing it to the movies when they shouldn't be! Sure there was no Nicolas Cage and I'm saddened by that but it still had a similar feeling to the films throughout. The first episodes were slow at times, but it kept getting better and better by the episode. My advice is just to ignore the haters, watch it for yourself, and come up with your own opinion.
