just a bad movie, its that simple, BAD
25 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
there are so many things wrong with this movie, but the 2 main things that made me hate it most was keanu reeves's acting. I know that he is always awful, and can't act for his life, everyone knows that. but he keeps getting these dramatic roles and he can't pull it off. he needs to stick with goofy like bill and Ted. and the other reason i hate this movie so much is because there were so many cameos that i had a hard time getting into the movie. when i watch a movie i want to feel like i am in there with the characters, but when all of the characters are huge stars like the game, Cedric, Hugh Laurie Chris Evans, jay mohr, common, terry crewes. I mean they woulda been just fine with just keanu and forest. but yea, its just hard for me to get into the movie because there is no depth in the characters, when Chris Evans died i could've cared less. same goes with terry crews and Cedric the entertainer. The only one i felt bad for was forest Whitaker because he was the only good actor in this movie, and maybe common but just because he's one of my favorite music artists. and i also thought the script didn't do a good job explaining the full concept of the events taking place in the movie. i didn't realize what the movie was really about till 3 quarters into it. so yea, its just a bad movie.

now i'm going to list the things i like about it. 1. action/fighting scenes were decent. 2. forest Whitaker is always good 3. had a good dark and urban feel to it 4. keanu reeves's attempt at drama always entertains me 5. Cedric the entertainer surprised me by not just being the comic relief, he actually played an important part and played it alright

it was good but not "THAT" good
21 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I was a little bit hesitant about Ledger being the joker, but he pulled through, and far better than I expected. You've probably heard it before, and you'll hear it more about Ledgers terrific performance. At first I thought it was just a tribute to his death (or should I say, "his life) and to promote the movie, but his performance was one of the best I've seen in a long time.

As much as I loved "Batman Begins," I must admit this movie was better. But the first had some aspects that could've made this movie greater such as more detail and focus on Bruce Wayne's personal and history that made you love him and root for the hero, not just looking forward to see the villain. My friends and I found ourselves waiting for The scenes with the joker because those were the best and most interesting parts. I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, but as I think about it I realize who the hero of the movie was and who the movie is supposed to really be about. Christian Bale is a terrific actor and the best choice to play Batman, but he didn't get a chance to shine in this movie because the movie stopped being about him and his life, but about saving Gotham (and of course the joker and twoface). Also, Alfred and Fox had a deeper depth in the original, in this movie the just seemed like they were there because they had to be or the story wouldn't be right. Basically what I'm saying is that the characters that mattered in the first movie lost that importance in this movie. But the depth of the joker, Harvey Dent (Twoface), and Gordon was there %100.

The acting in this movie was outstanding, and the one that stood out the most, BESIDES HEATH LEDGER, was Aaron Eckhart. He did a great job as the good guy and the bad guy. When he was Harvey Dent he made you believe that he could really change the city and was a great guy who was willing to sacrifice for what he believed in. Then once Rachel dies, his whole attitude, train of thought, and beliefs change completely. This is when he becomes "Twoface," and convinces you that he really changed. It was great because it felt bad to see him change because he was so believable and likable as the good guy, you hate to see him let the joker win and turn over to the bad side of the city.

And now the reason for the title of my comment.

This movie (at the moment) is rated a 9.6 and is #1 on the top 250 list. This is wrong in so may ways. It's hard for me to believe that ppl actually consider this movie better than "Shawshank Redemption," "Usual Suspects," "Pulp Fiction," "Fight Club," and "Goodfellas." I don't think so. Which brings me to the title, IT WAS GOOD, "BUT NOT THAT GOOD."

Wow They Got Lazy
4 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was possibly the most disappointing movie I've ever seen. It actually wasn't "that" bad of a movie, but you'd just expect more from them. Almost every action movie has plot holes and random things that aren't explained, but your forgive it anyway because it's just an action movie, but there were many things in this movie that I couldn't forgive. For instance, the whole alien plot was ridiculous, Marion almost immediately fell back in love with Indi, and a lot more that I just can't remember at the moment. But there was one thing in this movie I can never in a million years forgive, and that was Mutt getting tangled in the vines with the monkeys, and all of the sudden he knows how to swing on the vines like Tarzan. It was stupid, irrelevant, and incredibly non-realistic. I know it's a movie that's not meant to be believable, but movies are supposed to have the feeling that if you were in that situation that's what would happen. And one more thing I didn't like was Mutt ending up as Indi's son. It gave a different, more boring feel to their relationship. Before they knew they were father and son, it seemed fun and entertaining, kind of like two friends having an adventure. Then when they discovered they were father and son their relationship got boring and plain.

I know I've done a lot of complaining about this movie, so I'm going to tell you what I did like about this movie so I don't seem like a whiny b*tch. This movie had terrific action scenes, which made this movie a terrific thrill ride. Cate Blanchett did a great job as Irina Spalko, she was beautiful, and a great choice for the part. Ray Winstone did a good job as well, because in the movie, he kept helping the bad guys and f*cking Indi over, he made you frustrated. Harrison Ford was of course great as usual, as was Karen Allen. But the true star of the movie, the character that all the little kids want to be when they play Indiana Jones with their little friends, Shia LeBouf. He does great in every movie he is in, but in this movie he does even better. He is funny, entertaining, and is believable as the slightly soft kid pretending to be tough. The whole alien plot was a bit much, but had a great moral at the end, the true treasure was knowledge, I thought that was great. Over all I give this movie a 6 because besides all of the flaws, the movie did it's job by entertaining us with action scenes and special effects. But even doing that, it should've been better. But hey, it beats watching "Sex and the City."

best show ever, made for everyone
9 September 2007
this is the best show on television, no wait, the best show ever, there is absolutely nothing to hate bout dis show, when its supposed to be funny, its hilarious, when its meant to be dramatic, you'll cry, this show is perfect, john c. mcginly is the best actor on the show, i think almost everyone will agree with me on that, a great part of the show is the soundtrack, it really sets off the dramatic or life reflection scenes, for example, overkill by lazlo bane in my overkill, and how to save a life by the fray in my lunch. bill lawrence is a genius and a god for creating this show, no homo, i must recommend 2 episodes in particular, my lunch, and my screwup, both episodes are tearjerkers, both are heart breaking, and both are funny, if you are living, and conscious, i recommend this show to you, i guarantee you'll love every episode

Dead Silence (2007)

whats wrong with you people
2 September 2007
i don't know why this movie has such a low rating, there was absolutely nothing wrong with this movie except a little clichés in the beginning, thats it, the directing was fantastic, as was the visual effects, the acting and script was decent, but the plot and the ending were astonishing, this is one of the greatest movie twists i've ever seen, in order of all the movie twists this is 6th

1. fight club 2. usual suspects 3. primal fear 4. memento 5. dead silence

your jaw will be open and no one can say they saw it coming, i don't know why people don't like this movie, i'm sure some of the rating has something to do with people who rated this film before seeing it. this movie is great, especially james wan, for such a young director, he is very artistic and stylish

The Lookout (2007)

good but my expectations were really high so i was disappointed
1 September 2007
when this movie went out in theaters and i saw the commercials, there were so many guns, it looked like an action crime drama with a good plot and a good twist, i expected it to be epic, but it turned out to be just a crime drama with a good plot and no twist, they really made a big marketing error with the DVD cover because on the back, some critic sais it has a twist you never see coming, so when i saw this with my friend for the first time, we expected to be amazed and shocked, but don't make the same mistake i did, there is no twist, the very little action there was was good, the ending was good, the way the phrases from the beginning and middle make the good ending, like, start from the end and go to the beginning, and whoever has the money has the power, but its not the movie i expected, this movie is good but it has many many flaws, the script was a bit sloppy because i wasn't really sure what the effects of his condition were because in some parts he remembers people and somethings, but then it sais he has memory loss, so i don't know what he has, at first i thought it was the thing that drew barrymore had in 50 first dates, but i'm still not sure, but the good performances and strong parts of the script made up for its flaws, so i recommend this to you but don't expect the movie you saw in the trailer

these are my favorite kind of movies
30 August 2007
these are my favorite kind of movies, movies that have no real moral to it, no romance, no drama, just pure entertainment and thrills, its movies like this which make me remember why movies were made, ENTERTAINMENT, i'm tired of stupid boring overrated movies like moulin rouge, and dream girls and gone with the wind and the lives of others and even the godfather, godfather was a decent movie, but 1st on the top 240, my ass, it was 4 hours of talking and the occasional shooting, i rated it a 6, but I'm not saying movies like snakes on a plane aren't good, i like a lot of them, like the departed, zodiac, seven samurai, red badge of courage, Amelie and much more, but these are my drug, i almost died when grind house came out, not really, but for those that love these films, the grind house, fight club, hills have eyes, anything that Quentin Tarantino made, will love this movie

the art of surprise
29 August 2007
Warning: Spoilers
this is one of my favorite movies, and in my opinion, Scorsese's best. this has to be one of the greatest scrips ever, every Oscar it won and was nominated for was accurate except for mark wahlburg's nomination, I'm not saying he wasn't good, I'm just saying their were plenty more supporting actors in this movie that deserved it more, like jack Nicholson and Matt Damon. and i also think that instead of blood diamond, Leonardo DiCaprio should've been nominated and won for this movie, he is one of the most believable actors, you feel scared for him and at the end, your heart sinks for him when he gets killed after he caught Matt Damon and almost won that little war they had going on, and also, that scene from the rooftop and to the elevator where he is killed is great, that moment where he got shot, everyone in the theater was in shock, and so was i, i show this to my friends and family just to see the reaction on their faces, this movie is the sh*it, and if you read this without seeing the movie, well that sucks for you

6.4 my ass
26 August 2007
i don't understand why people don't like this movie, this movie is one of my favorites with a phenomenal performance from denzel washington as usual, but oh my god, the great thing about this movie is the fact that its true what they say about the health care system, the corruption and unjustness, and the measures a father would go or his son, when i have a son, i would do the same thing, i would do something drastic, i would do what john q did and hold the hostpital hostage, and my second choice would be to give my life for my son, just as john q was about to do, and this movie had one of the most intense sequences i've seen in a movie, so for those of you reading this and haven't seen the movie, f*ck the rating, watch this movie, its good trust me

wow, this movie was great, you people suck
25 August 2007
when this movie came out i thought it was just a rip off of you got served witch was one of the worst movies I've ever seen, so i thought this would be too, but i was wrong, this movie was good, i don't see what was so bad about it, there was good acting, good dancing, good directing, decent script, and maybe a little bit of cliché's and predictability thrown in but the good out weigh the bad, if i controlled this rating i would give it a 7. something, but a 3.1, thats just stupid, i'm sure there were pleanty of people who rated this movie without seeing it, so please see the movie first, because this movie deserves a lot of credit for its genre, and may i add the fact that meagan good is one of the sexiest movies alive to the list of good things about this movie, and my favorite part of the movie, which was the soundtrack, especially walk it out, and that scene with the song, so please see this movie and don't trust bad advertising at stupid people rating when they don't know sh*t about what there rating

the shaky camera was genius
19 August 2007
people complain bout da shaky camera, but that was what captured the intensity and kickass of the movie, this was without a doubt the best bourne movie of the 3, this trilogy is now one of my favorite trilogies, and this is one of the best movies out right now, i think the only movie thats better is superbad, but this movie is still phenomenal, and also has a good twist, this movie is mainly a guy movie but somehow, i think girls will enjoy it just as much, action movie with no romance or drama, i don't know why, but girls like it, and i don't blame them, and one last thing, matt damon is the sh*t, this movie gets me so amp'd, especially the scene with matt damon on the motorcycle, and one of the greatest lines in a movie, "if you were in your office we'd be having this conversation face to face"

Warning: Spoilers
(NOT AN IMPORTANT SPOILER, JUST SOME THINGS THAT HAPPENED BUT IM NOT GIVING ANYTHING AWAY) i couldn't stop laughing, people complain that every other word was (idk if i can say it but u know, the f word) but they don't realize that thats what teenagers do, knowing that because i am one. this is one of the most true to life movies I've seen, with realistic characters, the plot, maybe not THAT realistic, but if me or any of my friends were in that same situation, we would react the same way, from blackmailing a guy that hit us with a car, to running from the cops, from freaking out over a minor thing like a condom and "lube", to crying that the girl we like wouldn't get drunk and do us, so basically the actors and script make this movie good, and one more important thing that makes this movie great, is that it has a lot of heart, so don't mistake it for a pointless, morally challenged story, anyone who doesn't like this movie has a blunt sense of humor, no offense to haters.
