2 Broke Girls (2011–2017)
Disappointing
22 September 2017
This show is very disappointing to me.

I don't hate the two main characters/actors and that is the only reason I will give this show a 2 out of 10 instead of a 1 out of 10 (the lowest rating).

The jokes and writing are lame, all of the actors seem pained to be delivering these lines, as if they know how bad the show is or they just can't be bothered to actually learn the lines but instead read them off of cue cards.

I hate seeing Jennifer Coolidge in this because I think she is a great actor too, very funny in everything else I've seen her in. Her character is so shallow and pointless that not even she can make it work.

The "foreign guy" at the diner is especially terrible and one dimensional, but all of the characters have zero depth and are all just about the jokes on the surface.

In short, I don't care about any of these awful characters, the writing stinks, the jokes are all predictable/terrible and the writing is about the worst you'll see in a sitcom. The show simply has no point at all.

Schitt's Creek (2015–2020)
Schitt is Crap
17 January 2015
This show is crap.

I hated every second of watching it and wonder why I tried in the first place.

Two back to back episodes and in that entire hour I don't think I laughed even just one time. In 60 minutes they told all those jokes and all of them were bad. How could they have so many jokes and not even be funny once? Not even one time? Put a random person on TV and tell them to make up jokes they'll at least get lucky one time in a full hour won't they?

The characters are the worst especially the kids in the family. No offence to the SCTV stars in this who are awesome in their old shows but it seems like they are just in this to collect some easy money for showing up and reading lines. This is not a good show so why else would they be in it?

Whoever wrote this show needs to watch more TV or go to comedy school to learn what real people actually think is funny, because this is awful.

It takes a lot to get me off my ass to do the work of actually writing a review to say how bad a show is and after last night this show made that list. Awful awful show.

Calvary (2014)
Very Good Movie, Incredible Performance
17 January 2015
I wouldn't knock any of the best actor nominations for the Academy Awards this year (it is 2015 at the time of writing this review by the way!) because of the ones I have seen they also did an amazing job, and the other two I haven't seen yet so I'm not qualified to judge (yet) - but I will say that Brendan Gleeson really did a fantastic job in this movie and he easily could have been nominated himself, I would not have been surprised in the least if he was. Actually I would go so far as to say that if this movie were made in Hollywood and was better known in the U.S. he probably would have gotten a nomination, or at least more consideration and praise.

He's a great actor in everything I've seen him in so far and I hope he does a lot more movies in the future!

In this one he plays a Catholic priest with a good heart who ends up caught up with the wrong people and trying to do the right thing for everyone concerned. It's a pretty simple story but thanks to his great acting and the characters involved it's very compelling and you really feel for him and others.

Mr. D (2012–2018)
Meh
9 March 2014
This show is not very funny. Maybe what I expected of it was way too high going in to watching it just now for the first time because my friend and his wife both said it was good but I don't think so, I just don't think I find this show or this kind of humor very funny. I don't like the guy who plays Mr. D either he comes off like he is trying way too hard to channel Steve Carell from the Office and trying way too hard to be funny with the lines he has.

I think my friends mostly like it because they are both teachers. I assume there is stuff in this show that teachers can see that the rest of us can not because the guy playing Mr. D apparently based this show on being a teacher because he used to be one. Any how I just don't think it is very funny. I like the kids though they are pretty good considering their age.

Boring, Unfunny Mess
2 December 2008
This show is boring and not funny. The idea behind it of taking Shakespeare's most famous plays and then modernizing them as half hour TV episodes is a good one but the execution was poor. The jokes are bad, the acting is usually terrible and the writing was even worse. I guess when you try to shrink down a Shakespeare play to half an hour, modernize it (in the case of this show modernizing it means to make it dirty and add in swear words) and try to cram in as many obvious jokes as you can in a desperate attempt to make it funny, it loses everything that made the story good in the first place. I have to write two more lines so I will just say this.... Shakespeare Comedy Show is one of the least funny shows I have ever seen.

The Jane Show (2004–2007)
A Bad Show
25 August 2007
The main actress isn't bad but the character isn't that good and the show is not very funny. Even though I have now watched several episodes I just can't get into the characters or the stories but the worst thing about the show is the complete lack of laughs which is a big problem for a 'comedy' which this show claims to be. I hope this show gets canceled soon because there are no laughs and nothing special about it. I am always a fan of a new show that has a main character that is a female but please next time come up with something better, with more depth and especially (if it is a comedy) something that has at least one laugh in it.

Crap Unlimited

This show is horrible. The main character is so annoying I just want to strangle him but not annoying in the funny way they are intending I'm sure. He is always trying some get rich quick scheme or trying to get with a beautiful and/or rich woman while being a chauvinist pig/thief and failing miserably. Why this TV channel thought we needed a show like this is beyond me. There are already enough bad shows with unlikeable characters. I can't believe this stayed on the air, it has even somehow lasted more than one season. I think it is off the air now though so that's good. Anyway I wouldn't even recommend the reruns this show is/was just pitiful.

Good but not great...
25 August 2007
Mr. Bean's Holiday hasn't gotten very good reviews here with people mostly saying it is simply not funny, is the same old same old, blah blah blah, milking the franchise for all it's worth... I for one really enjoyed the old episodes of the Mr. Bean TV show but hated the first Mr. Bean film (where he went to LA). This movie lies somewhere in the middle. Not nearly as funny as the show with the same kind of humour just not as funny, but also much better and more funny than the first Bean movie. Also worth noting that it's the same humour as the TV series but I've seen all the episodes and thankfully none of the gags are simply recycled. It really is at least ten times better than its 1997 predecessor (which has nothing to do with this film thank goodness). I would recommend it as a rental or to see on TV, but if you are having a family movie night this would be a great choice, it's better than most movies and won't offend any families (of course not, it's Mr. Bean!) It's a feel-good movie that is not so sappy it would make you puke which is rare, I think. Willem Dafoe was funny and Rown Atkinson was FANTASTIC, he did not mail this in at all, and if I may say he does not seem much older than he ever did as this character. Well worth checking out if your expectations aren't too high.
