100% amazed
16 November 2023
An incredible story about our life. So many problems are described here, so many topics are raised that are still relevant in our time. I finally saw a good conflict between a parent and a child, I was so moved by the development of their relationship that I worried from the very first seconds. The theme of war is raised, it is so merciless to everyone, military propaganda is shown and how they do not like those who go against the system. Guilherme del Toro did a great job and for this I personally say THANK YOU to him, because nowadays you don't see many cartoons like this. And I'd like to separately note the work of the entire film crew, so much effort was invested in this creation that I'm ready to give them a standing ovation. This film is definitely worth watching not only for children, but also for adults.

Logic has left this movie
13 November 2023
Of the good. Good acting, they did not infuriate, they were charismatic and filled with passion. The work of the editor and cameraman is excellent; special praise goes to them. The costumes were well chosen and it was a pleasure to look at them. Of the minuses: incredibly long dialogues that make you fall asleep. Boring and, in my opinion, 1.40 hours is still too much for such a film. You see, I'm not against films that drag on slowly, but when it's interesting to watch it (as an example, I can give "Gone with the Wind" or "Killers of the Flower Moon"). There is also no logic in some moments (for example, I can't imagine how anyone else lives like this in the 21st century, especially in such a developed country as the USA; it seems my worldview has not yet reached such an acceptance). Another point is that they are ordinary villagers who work every day. Look after the children. How can they think like philosophers? Even children think like this, at the level of an experienced philosopher, it is beyond the comprehension of the mind and this is a big minus.

It's hard to even call it a movie
13 November 2023
I watched this film purely because it received an Oscar and decided to watch all the films that received an Oscar this year, if not for this fact, I am sure I would never have watched this creation. Let's start with the positives: the costumes are really well chosen, the picture is not bad (but realizing that most of the film is drawn on a computer, this wealth is lost). Of the minuses: crappy acting (not all of them, but at least the main character of this film), it was so unrealistic and artificial that I understand that a child would have acted better. Sometimes the visuals suffered during action scenes. The plot is extremely uninteresting and boring.

As a result, I do not recommend viewing this "creation", believe me, wasting your time on this crap is not respecting yourself.

One of my biggest disappointments in cinema
10 November 2023
Unfortunately, I was not impressed by this film. I thought this was Aronofsky's film and was definitely sure that this creation would be dramatic, heartbreaking and make me ask questions about life. But how wrong I was. After an hour of watching it in full, I already started to rewind a little, it was boring. The picture format is square, for square TVs that are older than my grandmother, it's not clear why I chose this format. The filming and atmosphere of the film was more reminiscent of an amateur film than a professional one. I was not pierced by any of the characters in the film, I was not able to empathize with anyone, although it is important for the screenwriter to make this moment (the most interesting thing is that I only empathized with the actor Brandon Fraser himself, I can imagine how hard it was for him to wear everything and eat like not everyone). Charlie, the main character, didn't grab me at all, I treated him neutrally, as if he simply existed, I'm silent about the other characters, most of them infuriated me. As for me, some of the dialogues were written terribly, and those that were interesting, by the middle of the conversation it was simply boring to listen to them. As a result, such a low rating and dislike for Aronofsky for this work.

This is definitely not the film of the year!
10 November 2023
Apparently the entire film crew did a lot of work on this film. The actors were chosen with high quality and they all played with equal dignity, I can't single out anyone for the worst or best performance, they looked harmonious. In this creation I liked some philosophical messages, raising topics: how insignificant we are in this world, about discovering our abilities, studying ourselves as individuals. The film's main conflict between mother and daughter completely shows from bad relationships to good, it's all good. Also raising the topic, or you can say in the phrase of Ray Bradbury: "Don't judge a book by its cover," only in our case, a person. I didn't like the modern agenda, which infuriates everyone, including me, now it's not surprising how he received an Oscar for the best film of the year. I can both praise and criticize the camera work. Cool transitions, interesting shots, but the picture itself is infuriating, there is no aesthetics, it's like a rainbow that makes you want to puke. The Oscar was, in my opinion, not deserved, because there is a much more brilliant film by Chazelle's Babylon.

An unremarkable documentary
6 November 2023
As for me, the film turned out to be lackluster; in real life, I would compare it to late autumn. Stanislavsky, a great man, thought that in this documentary I would see something more and something that was unknown, but he was completely no different from the usual videos on YouTube about him. I also noticed that at first it is about Stanislavsky and suddenly it turns somewhere into the wilds and you can no longer hear about the main character of the documentary. Bottom line, a lot of unnecessary material was added to this creation, and as for me, you can safely reduce the film's time to 30 minutes and not lose anything, not even the aesthetics itself.

The aesthetics of the film are top notch
6 November 2023
A film with a beautiful aristocratic aesthetic. The design, scenery, clothes are what immediately catches the viewer's eye, here the producers and the director tried their best, for this they have great honor and praise. If I were making this film, I definitely would not make it in the musical genre, because that it did not look harmonious. The acting was good, but Audrey Hepburn is just fantastic. Of the films that I watched with her participation, as for me this is her best role and performance, she immediately stuck in my mind. And yet, in the end I thought that everything would end on a sad note, but then suddenly a beautiful Hollywood ending happens.

Film = philosophical lesson
5 November 2023
A wonderfully compelling film. To keep you interested and curious for a whole 3 hours deserves special praise from director Martin Brest. Anthony Hopkins performed at his best as he knows how, Brad Pitt opened up for me in a new dramatic role, and got into the role quite well. Even insensitive death came to our planet and felt what it was like to live in this amazingly beautiful world, that it brought tears of happiness. The film also shows human values well and raises the question: what is happiness for a person? There are still many moments that I did not understand in the film, or rather meanings, and I am on the way to searching for answers, because the film itself forces you to ask yourself questions, although simple and perhaps stupid for some, but endowed with philosophical meaning.

A wonderful story about loneliness, friendship, drama, romance, time, dreams, persistence, kindness
3 November 2023
It was interesting to see the changes in the characters of Tom Hanks and Stanley Tucci. In the first, the hero begins with the status of an unknown person, no different from other emigrants to America, to a local hero, a favorite of the public and not only the people in the film, but also captures the hearts of the audience watching this film. Tucci's character moves from the phase of a good person (one who defends the rights of America) to a villain who crosses the path of the main character for his cause, one might say his whole life. The film itself, in my opinion, is a prototype of Forrest Gump, if not 100%, then definitely 50%. The director of the film has a lot of respect for the work done, because the film turned out to be atmospheric, interesting, holds your attention for a whole 2 hours, and this is not so easy, and this person was Steven Spielberg, it's not surprising why the film turned out great. And I want to choose a phrase that fits the film: "Everything has its time."

Documentary film for those interested in psychology and philosophy
6 October 2023
Not a bad documentary about people. The film shows that all people are different and each unique individual. It also reveals the problems that humanity faces. It was interesting to watch people's reasoning, because they were all different and depended on their place of residence, their childhood, and how they perceived the world. From the point of view of psychology and philosophy it was interesting. If you don't think about this, the film will seem very boring to you, but this documentary is designed for a group of people who are ready for a burst of thought during and after viewing.

I gave such a low rating because I'm not a fan of documentaries, only certain topics and even then they don't always work. But as an analysis of personalities from different parts of the planet, this film is a masterpiece.

There was potential, but not in this film
6 October 2023
As for me, the film does not fully reveal the idea of attraction or it is too veiled under other ideas. Although the only thing that moved me to watch the entire film was just the idea of attraction, and everything else did not impress me. The acting was at a low level, I wanted more expressions of emotion, and the film took place in a fairly calm atmosphere. In my opinion, there was little conflict in the film and because of this it seemed boring. The camera work was ordinary and unremarkable. I think there are problems with the dialogue, it was flat and not interesting. This idea has potential, but it was practically not explored in this film, which was disappointing.
