Late Night with the Devil (2023)
A neat package of high strangeness and conspiracy
I'm not one to review a lot of movies on this website and there are very few "horror" movies that give me the chills, but this one did.
Had moments of terror, confusion, intrigue and awe. The medium is nicely done and nothing that I've really seen before. It did remind me of that horror movie that was set on an online exorcism show, where things go wrong, can't for the life of me remember the name.
The story moves between comedy, shock, desperation and a little bit of gore.
A must see for horror fans. Something that won't keep you up at night but a second watch may add more to depth of this story.
The Real Housewives of Melbourne (2014)
Easily the best "Real Housewives" series out there!
The Real Housewives of Melbourne is the best. I have watched many of the other shows from the franchise - Beverley Hills, Aukland, Sydney, South Africa, Cheshire and Salt Lake to name but a few.
It has a lot of heart and a lot of heat, in spades. The delusional attitudes of some, the shocking behaviour of others. The over the top parties, the "girls trips abroad" and dinner parties are simply fantastic reality TV gold!
You can watch it once and be on one person side, and watch it a year later and have a completely different opinion. Re-watchability value? 10/10.
It has some of the best one liners, put downs and camp silliness.
Trust me.
The Babadook (2014)
Surprisingly disturbing
This is my first review on IMDB and had the urge to take a shot at giving my opinion.
I've been binge watching horror movies currently and this one really stuck out. It is incredibly well acted by the two main actors.
The scene setting and imagery I really enjoyed, makes me want to decorate my house in dark greys and blacks.
There is a fine line between "what is real?" In movies like this and The Babadook does a fantastic job of gently tip-toeing that pathway.
If you like Twin Peaks screams and mystery, a strong underlying reference to grief, mental health and insomnia - then you'll love it.
