The Dive (2023)

Fantastic movie

This was really a great movie, is it going to win any oscars? No. But it doesn't need to, it was exciting, tense, and original. Acting was goo, direction was good, it was above all entertaining.

This is proof you don't need special effects to make a good movie. Just a good idea.

Its a shame there's a lot of negative reviews, I really don't know what people expect, just superheroes and explosions maybe? Aren't people bored of those?

Just don't expect sharks or something like that, how many movies do we already have with sharks? This was something new, a breath of fresh air (pun intended).

Please make more movies like this.

Cobweb (2023)

A nice surprise

These days, only 1 in 5 movies I watch are actually good, and great movies are rare or almost nonexistent these days. That's why I was hugely surprised with this unknown gem.

Its not perfect but it was very good indeed, worth of an 8/10. I wish Hollywood would make more movies like this. This is proof you don't need a huge budget or A list actors to make an excellent movie.

There's good acting, good screenplay, good writing, and it has an original and imaginative story.

Best of all it keeps you guessing.

The only con I can think of is I wish it was a bit longer, the ending seemed a bit rushed.

The Little Mermaid (I) (2023)

Way better than expected

After the harsh reviews and backlash I was not expecting much, I am surprised at how enjoyable this movie was.

I have watched around 5000 movies in my life and this is definitely top 200.

Do not trust any reviews below a 4, those are just some angry people or people who haven't actually watched the movie. There is no way this could be under a 6, let alone these ones and twos. Ridiculous.

The acting was very good, Halle bailey has a good voice, she sings well, the overall visuals were stunning, the soundtrack was excellent, it matched the movie perfectly. The characters were fantastic including the witch and the father.

Story was also great, a feel good family movie.

The only things not so great were a couple songs, I would actually prefer if these movies were not musicals at all, just the story, that's the only reason I didn't rate it a 10.

This movie was epic.

The Out-Laws (2023)

Enjoyable comedy

This movie was definitely not the best of 2023, not close to the best comedies out there, but it was enjoyable. This is a perfect family movie. No nudity or anything like that.

A good movie these days is a rare thing, especially comedies.

Its obviously low budget but that's why I rated it only a 6. A lot of room for improvement here and a bit goofy. But it kept me entertained all the way through, and that's what matters.

There's just one issue which I don't get it, maybe a plot hole towards the end, I don't want to give spoilers but that didn't make sense. Otherwise very good comedy. But I guess sometimes you just have to realize its a movie, just to have fun, and not think so seriously about it.

Acting was alright, pace was fantastic, never a dull moment.

Magellan (2017)

4 for some good visuals

What a terrible movie. The acting from 1-10 is definitely a 3. Horrible and cringe to say the least. Most if not all tv series these days have better acting.

Some good visuals in places but you can really tell it's budget. You could have filmed this movie on an iPhone. Probably it was.

Who are these people giving this an 8? Either part of the crew or they have never watched stuff like the Martian, interstellar, gravity, moon, event horizon and many more.

Good thing I didn't pay for the movie and good thing I didn't watch more than 15 minutes. I skipped forward to see if it would become good but no still terrible acting.

Any movie that can't hold my attention until the end is maximum 3 stars of I think they tried at least.

Lola (2022)

Absolutely terrible

I've watched over 5000 movies in my life. This is one of the worst. The only good thing was the idea of it. It could have been good.

First of all why is this filmed like this in poor bleach and white? There is no reason for it.

Second. Why do the girls speak and behave as it this was 2023?

Also, why are they so annoying? What's with the constant drinking wine?

They had this machine and they had no plans to help winning the war. Just to help a bunch of people here and there.

The first ever camera with sound recording, how did the military guy even ask if it was recording sound if that was unheard of?

Yah first time I ever saw a woman peeing standing. True art.

I saw this for free and left at 30min. What a waste of 30 min.
