Clickbait (2021)
Excellent social commentary
I found this series very engrossing. Mostly great acting. I certainly did not guess the perpetrator which is a plus for me. What I care about is the whole story - in that I hope and pray that teens and women will question these websites and realize how dangerous social media CAN be. I, for one, had no idea about all those "tricks" employed on the small screen. I salute the producers of this!
Madame Claude (2021)
Inept filming
I do not care about the nudity or sex BUT what offends me is the quality of this
film. Atrocious acting; bad dubbing; non-existant storyline. French movies are so good. Perhaps they should have had a French team on it and this sorry saga
would have been a success.
Fifty Shades Freed (2018)
A decent Chick Fick
The last reviewer - Mr ********* has obviously not seen many bad films!! That said, perhaps these films are not for men! Escapist, yes; sex scenes bland because it is
not pornography; nothing is fake and meaningless. The main surprise for me was just how good both leads were and especially Dakota Johnson. Had she not been cast as Ana I don't think I could have watched it.
La casa de papel (2017)
Masterpiece!
I came late to this show but wow! I have read some criticism of the show but really
would it not be boring to be executed perfectly? There are flaws, sure, but overall pretty damn good. A very clever script; excellent actors; some nail-biting stuff and great camaraderie amongst the thieves. Television is supposed to either educate or amuse. This certainly kept me entertained!
Million Dollar Arm (2014)
Perfect for the part of Don Draper
The jury seems to be out on whether Hamm can act or not. Just because one doesn't like his character surely that is no reason to say "he cannot act". I have yet to see a man cry convincingly in films. Hamm cried twice and convinced me. He can be tender - as with Anna - he can be confident and forceful when doing a presentation. He is super sexy with Sylvia etc. If his character were soft and sweet surely we would not all be mesmerised by the series of Mad Men? He is superb, as they all are in the cast, with very few exceptions.
I would take issue with the lady who says "all men are pigs". Such a naive and feminist statement . Would she prefer that all men steer clear of women - where would that get us? Not all the men in the show are "pigs" (as she calls them). How about Harry Crane; Henry Francis; Joan's husband; Cosgrove and possibly Lane Pryce. JFK was a womaniser and also a superb President - the like of which we shall never see again.
