Ray Donovan: Time Takes a Cigarette (2017)
Season 5, Episode 12
10/10
Perfect Ending
23 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A few spoilers ahead.. I think this was indeed the perfect ending to the series and if anything else is to be added to the story of these people n their lives, it should be a whole new show/series, branched (pun just because they exist) from Ray Donovan.

Any of the other Donovans would do, but let Ray sleep now, anything more to his story would dishonor who he has been made out to be. Spoiler alert: The counselors summary of Ray, and his traumatized mind before the final scene was a perfect lead up to end the series, he made sure everyone was sorted and followed his heart, how more complete can it get? I doubt it can.. The other reviewer has said it all, and I agree.

Loved this show, had me in tears a few times, the family was solid despite the many issues. I was glad the last season explained the lead up to Abbys death and how it all unfolded, we needed that last season to be exactly how it was, to properly conclude the series..

I do hope that this series is over, I doubt I will watch anything more if released, the end was too perfect, don't drag it further than it should be dragged, branch if its vital to tell more story, revamp, rename and carry on, but let Ray sleep.

Best ending I have seen in a while.

I was not sure what to expect, I cant read reviews that look like essays, I don't mind a few words of thought but I do prefer to experience a film without too much bias in any which way.

In saying that, this was really well acted, it was raw and beautiful. The leads are so believable, as was a leads best friend, stunning work indeed.

I bet the book is pretty captivating, as the film is not lacking in that area, unless you have any attention disorder; some moments might make you want to check your phone, but this is in my opinion, in the psychological thriller genre and with that comes unfolding.

As I stated in summary, such a good ending, I kept waiting for a let down, but it did not come, I was left feeling very satisfied, and I can not find the discuss option to blurt my enjoyment of the ending out to the world, so I have made a quick review.

It is really well done, I am glad I watched it, only one question I had, what was up with the attire at the end?.. Titillating.

Way better than I expected.

A bit slow to start with and not overly captivating until short exposures into what is to come, flash, they keep you interested and the last half an hour is horribly good.. This film went from what seemed like it might be a monotone drab, expectedly boring film to a thriller/horror with a few rather disturbing scenes, that old man is probably going to be in my worst nightmares, I do feel disturbed for life after watching this, and psychological thrillers are my favourite genre, so.... A satisfying end, exposing how vastly different Jill was, to who she was when they first moved in with the older couple. The old man is an actor I would like to see more of, IF I can get past the hauntings of this film, he is a great actor. The main girl Jill, is really good too, she is very believable, the rest just do their jobs.

This has the squirm factor that may trigger some people, not for a family sit down!

Gripping

This film moved me. Powerful silence, actions and way of telling this story. It unfolds perfectly, like in a real life event, not some Hollywood garbage that is fed to people, creating this whole fake generation. I am not a person that knows the review speak, so ten lines is a stretch for me, I don't read reviews that are longer than about the same amount of lines, I want to watch and experience a film for myself, not read a book about how another person perceived every detail.

A basic outline is enough. This film is like a snowball, ending in the most unexpected way, yet throughout the film, there were glimmers of indication, if one is perceptive to such things of course. I really enjoyed the journey, there is a melancholic feel to this, that is the closest to a spoiler you will get from me.

Dark Web (2016)
Cheese
23 March 2016
So bad it is almost good, so cheesy it could almost make a grilled sammich. few cool twists along the way, once you have accepted it is cheese that is. A name used towards the end is one of the funniest things I have seen in a film lately. The film has real potential, it is not an unusual concept but a few contributing factors could have made it deserve a few more stars.

I cant rate it at the moment, I am not sure why not, but if I could I would go with a 4. I am not sure if it was all lip synced but I am sure that some peoples voices do not match their lips as they move, which evidently makes it pretty humorous, I am sure Action Man was hiding in someones skin!

Good for a bad laugh, bad for a good laugh.

terribly bad but captivating none the less
20 March 2016
The storyline had potential, but the acting was possibly the worst I have ever seen, yet it still managed to captivate me, if not for anything else, to see just how bad it would get.

It didn't make a whole lot of sense with how it concluded, but that wasn't unexpected considering the embarrassing acting.

I would like to see this concept base remade, with better actors and way better roles/lines/script.

Potentially has potential, just not how it is exposed in this take. This could be a very successful film if it had a complete over haul.

Worth the watch if you are in a patient mood, with nothing else to do.. so many cringe moments you might end up with your shoulders around your ears and deep forehead frowny lines, as though an earthquake struck you. By the end, just let it go, don't try working it all out.. wait for a decent director to pick it up and remake it!

Refreshing.

Really enjoyed the message this conveys...

Worth a watch for everyone, especially people that don't have a problem drinking and driving.

A unique way of helping one come to realize the true impact of consequences.

Also the power of forgiveness, both of self and of others, is presented in a particularly unique way, I found this to be very refreshing in presentation.

I think the acting of both main characters was very fitting, well done.

I would recommend this and I would watch it again.

(best not for under 13)

See are A pea.

Firstly, this is NOT for CHILDREN, there are copious amounts of blood squirting scenes from severed limbs within the first ten minutes and my six year old has nightmares now... from BEAUTY AND THE BEAST???

The acting in this film is third if not tenth rate, and since when did they have mini skirts back in the day they are trying to portray... There is no thing believable (except the squirting blood to children) about this film, there is no heart to it, no pull or grab, I would liken it to an extremely bad comedy, as its acting is so poor, its comical they even let it be produced!

I found this film to just be a complete waste of time, and it is really not suitable for children under the age of ten at least, and even then will probably require parental guidance, so as to make light/jokes of the disgusting blood squirting scenes. Very bad taste.
