Update: Doesn't meet expectations (6 to 8)
No, it's not the language barrier. I have watched too many Thai films and TV shows from the past. The actors are great. I think my struggle is with its story writing. Some scenes felt rushed and doesn't make any sense. Like episode 2-3 or 3-4 not sure.
I rewatched them but i just moved on to the following episodes. In general it's good. But if you're looking for something with substance. This is not for you. Episode 7 felt rushed. And it seemed uncharacteristically for Sun to act the way she was portrayed. Which annoys me. Same with Ongsa. Its like they just wanted this episode to turn them to girlfriends and set the most childish way to do it. I guess i was just expecting too much from this series since its from a well known company.
I will still watch it for the sake of Sun. Her smile is everything but if im being honest. If another actor plays this, I wouldn't bother watching it after seeing episode 3.
Update:
Okay, so the past few episodes i like the fact that they are addressing somethings that others are afraid to take a dip into.
1 of that is the brooding affection between the trans teachers. I like it as love knows no gender nor gender preference.
2nd is with Sun and Ongsa situation. I like the gact that Sun stood up for herself. She's already out there risking it all and ready for what lies ahead but here comes Ongsa who's too afraid to come into terms with herself.
I'm saying with herself because:
1. She's the one that started it. She liked Sun, even to the point of deceiving her. And when sun asked for time, Ongsa acted like a baby and her friends manipulated Sun to jealousy. (It's all cutesy but look into it as your own relationship, you will understand why Sun acted that way.) I like that they're showing us all these now. But I still fell the same towards the those other episodes.
Long Live Love! (2023)
When the laughs... the Ahhh's and Ohhhh's turn to a silent cry
Long Live Love
When the laughs... the Ahhh's and Ohhhh's turn to a silent cry and some sense of somehow... Belongingness.
Don't we all Loved and Lost despite hoping that it would last?
The movie hit some sensitive spot in my being.
TBH if I knew ahead of time I would've prepare myself.
So, Trigger Warning to those who experienced/witnessed their parents drifting apart etc. ( I don't wanna elaborate too much but prepare a lot of tissue and remember to breathe, so if you're the type of person that can be easily affected by what they're watching.. please have a friend with you.) The movie will take you to a journey!
I love how the story unfold and how in a short screen-time, the director was able to show us, or let us experience rather! To be the one's wearing their shoes. Impeccable acting from all characters. Sunny and Araya, no doubt are on of the best Thai Actors out there, but let me introduce Becky Armstrong. This kid has a chill way of acting that it's so natural that you'd just find yourself feeling her disgust, her pain, her sadness! I just found myself laughing and crying on her scenes.
I've been a fan on how Thai movies can show nostalgia in this captivating melancholic, cinematic way! And Long Live Love took me to this amazing ride. (I'll keep myself from saying too much on this, i would love for you to experience that on your own)
So, please go and check out this movie if it's available in your area!
Long Live Love to me is a movie that you'd want to always go back to from time to time.
Much more a christmas movie! Or one of those movie we watch for comfort.
I think it's a really good family movie, or even if your at a stage where you're about to start one.
