NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Chained (2004)
Dramatic and Silly
I really enjoyed this one, I like Tony a lot and when he was basically flirting with Frank Whaley's character, I really liked it. The bonding and the look into Tony's character we get is really enlightening, and the quips and jokes he makes in this episode are really funny. I liked how they referenced that Tommy Tutone song, whether or not it was on purpose. McGee's whole arc in this episode is also really exciting as well, talking about the items that were stolen. I also really like whenever Walmart is mentioned, and without getting too much into the episode, they talk about Walmart, so you know it's gonna be a banger.
Paternity Leave (2015)
Very good
While yes, it admittedly was contrived in all of the things that just happened to come together almost as if by magic, this is a really cute movie. Rom-coms today are pretty much expected to be kind of contrived and bad, and this is better than almost any other recent rom-com I've seen. The characters seemed fleshed out pretty well, and the way the emotions were portrayed felt really realistic. This is also the best movie featuring male pregnancy that I could find. The rest always end up being dreams, or are just really unserious. Also, for some reason, a lot of the time, they'll give birth to something like a fish or a duck instead of an actual human child. All things considered, I really enjoyed this movie.
Fruit Punch Killer (2023)
pretty good
I'm kit walker, the writer, editor, director, and actor playing about eighty percent of the characters as well as filming a bunch of the scenes. I think that I did a pretty decent job on making it and it turned out pretty good for something that came together in about three weeks. I like the part where I edited in the Wilhelm scream the best. Pretty good stuff.
Some interesting things about the making of this movie is that we didn't really have a script. We had an idea of each scene and just ran with it. We hardly ever did more than one take (maybe you can tell). Overall, turned out pretty good :D.
Mamaboy (2016)
lots of wasted potential
Acting wasn't very good at all, with the "emotional" scenes seeming sarcastic at best. If you know anything at all about pregnancy and childbirth it is infuriating to watch, and it ends up being pretty Christian. It could be a really cute movie, but there's no showing of bonding between characters at pretty much any point. Lots of plot holes and untied loose ends, and a lot of the things characters do don't make any sense in the storyline, and the arcs aren't told well at all. The writing seemed amateur, the acting as well. To some extent the child actors can be excused but still pretty shoddy even with the adults. Really creepy nurse that was supposed to be "funny", I guess? She just came off as pedophilic and was the worst character, even in the sea of poorly developed characters. Fun to watch with friends and make fun of.
