Mr. Robot: Hello, Elliot (2019)
Series couldn't have ended better
And the story comes full circle. First words were "Hello, friend" and the final words were "Hello, Elliot" almost as if Darlene is no longer Darlene but she is the audience and it's the first(and last) time we can speak with Elliot.
I was very confused the first 20 minutes because there was so much to explain and the show did nothing but confuse me even further how were they going to wrap this up but they did it masterfully. For someone who has DID I believe Elliot and his alters are very relatable even for normal people.
Now on a rewatch you can clearly see where the Mastermind took over and why Rami Malek played him so dead inside and without much emotion, why he forgot things like Darlene being his sister. Genius writing and the eye close-up resembling A Space Odyssey outdid in my opinion.
Sam Esmail, genius, thank you for the greatest tv show of all time.
Mr. Robot: eps3.7_dont-delete-me.ko (2017)
My favorite episode of Mr. Robot
Despite not moving the plot forward per se, this episode is a much needed recovery from the very intense 3 episode run that was before it.
In the cold open we learn how Mr. Alderson's demise happened and how Elliot hated his guts as a little boy. Us as the audience have no idea why and on a first watch you assume it's because of the window incident(foreshadowing at its finest).
Then after the opening credits we see an episode full of metaphors and parallels between computers and life and how Elliot has hit rock bottom and going to commit suicide, had it not been for an unexpected character to save him.
It's absolutely brilliant done and it hits way harder for people that were actually suicidal someday through their life. The ending with Elliot and Angela is a masterpiece too since Elliot snaps Angela back into reality and the soundtrack is perfect.
