Network (1976)
it's every single one of you out there that's finished!
Who runs the world? The New World order?....Yes, According to Howard Beale a TV News anchor come prophet.Beale played by Albert Finney one of the greatest actors of all time, brings us through his mid life crisis and his awakening to the truth, after years of bringing the news to millions he suddenly flips live on TV captivating his audience announcing he will blow his head off on the news tomorrow night,he has lost control...why? he has realised that in the search for higher news ratings 'bullshit' is more important than real news, and this is the way it is as spelt out by the nemesis and illuminati mason boss and financier Arthur Jensen.
Giù la testa (1971)
"One revolution was enough for me"
This is simply a masterpiece! why? because it contains some of the finest acting I have seen and the finest score for a movie I have ever heard. It may be long...actually it is very long but that is also it's charm and Leone's charm. The film tells the story of revolution in Mexico and the lawlessness which unfolds as a result.Steiger who plays Mexican juan is a greedy bandit taking advantage of the revolution for his own self interest but his ways are changed gradually throughout the movie with the help of former Irish Revolutionary Coburn aka Sean.Steiger's performance is brilliant the best I have ever seen him,the close up shots and facial reactions are hilarious and combined with Morricone's greatest film score ever and I mean ever (better than the Mission) make the film what it is...a Masterpiece!
Sicko (2007)
Excellent movie
This was Michael Moore's best film/Docu to date and in my opinion should be nominated for an Oscar it was truly excellent. The film underlines the definition of the term 'healthcare' with the word 'Care' being seriously absent from the U.S. system. Morally, as a human being, I cannot believe or comprehend that such a greedy self centered system would inflict such pain and hardship on it's own people and their attempts to live just a normal life.I felt very saddened for those American's and the traumatic stories they have, it underlined the 'Profit before people' syndrome which is at the heart of the American society since the election of Nixon and it was not surprising that it was he who gave the thumbs up to this system, something I didn't know.If such a system was attempted here in Ireland their would be uproar, even though our system isn't perfect it's nothing like that of the U.S. Well done Mr.Moore you are doing your country a Brave service.Keep up the good work.
Martial Law 9/11: Rise of the Police State (2005)
Good
I really enjoyed this Docu/movie, from start to finish it kept me captivated and also gave me an insight into the general Public's opinions in the U.S on 911 and it's aftermath...something which most of the outside world don't hear (now the US is beginning to sound like China) I'd say something to do with Rupert Murdoch's ability to control the majority of the world's media...demonstrations all over the states in response to the U.S. truth commissions findings and the alleged cover up of 911...very interesting! albeit a little bombast in his approach Alex Jones does an affective job and presents the public with a lot of Un-answered questions. Why he attacks Michael Moore is baffling and this actually takes away from the film.
