Testament: The Story of Moses (2024)
A documentary? Definitely not.
This show has made me wonder what Netflix thinks a historical documentary is. This show is the biblical story of Moses plus some folk stories. Which is fine, there are alot of fictional shows on netlfix and other platforms. But to categorize this as a historical documentary and bring some scholars and academics to present it as such is just appalling. As obvious this might sound but the Hebrew Bible itself is not archaeological evidence. There are no Egyptian records whatsoever mention slaves that known as Hebrews. Nothing was mentioned about israelite presence in Egypt or their enslavement nor subsequently their exodus. Ramses the 2nd the pharaoh lived until he was 90 and died of dental abscesses and his mummy still exists in a national museum in cairo and his mummy occasionally makes tours around the world.
Beef (2023)
This show is everything!
I started watching beef randomly on netflix and im really glad I did. This show is impressively written, funny, witty, deep (without preaching or pretentiousness) and extremely real. The characters are well formed and very real, even the most random characters on the show. The acting is phenomenonal you relate to them as human beings struggling with the same stuff we all are even though there might be nothing in common between you and any of them. This show has everything a TV show can offer from entertainment to depth to thrill , it makes you contemplate your views and makes you laugh alot. Highly recommended!
Workin' Moms (2017)
Best working moms show ever!
One of the best shows I have watched in a long time. Its funny and realistic. As a working mom myself, I know the struggle between wanting to be the best at what you do and also the best mom and how this equation is always stressful and seems at times impossible. I love how the show shows this daily struggle, the criticism, the self hate, the guilt the, the humour, the acceptance, the success and the fluctuating levels of self confidence. What I also really love about it is how it points out the importance of friendship, the support women need from each other and how it is different from the support you get from spouses or family. Your girlfriends know exactly what you are going through as moms and as women and this solidarity can really make a difference in a moms life. I'm very grateful for this show and how authentic it is. Keep up the good work!
