I Can't Describe How This Movie Made Me Feel
20 December 2009
Since the first commercial of this movie, I knew it would be something that I wouldn't forget when I go to see it. Let's start off by saying I have an imagination that is intrigued with space. I dream about being on different planets and meeting Avatar type "aliens" there that are human type but with slight differences (also like Avatar, like the ears, nose, tail, etc.), and I love to make up new adventures of where I'm at and what will happen. Anyways I saw the movie the first night it came out where I was, and this movie made me feel feelings I couldn't describe. The way the Na'vi people were designed, the planet, creatures, story... all things I would dream up inside my head. So not only did I like this movie just because it was a great flick, I felt in touch with Jake and how he saw everything and what he did. Movies like this are what makes me want to keep coming back to see it again and again and again. The planet Pandora was spectacular! I saw this movie in IMAX and in 3-D and the planet looked spectacular! The way everything glowed at night, how different it was satisfied my imagination. There was something about the Na'vi people that made me feel in touch with them. The way they are designed, like a human but with different ears, nose, a tail, and big glassy yellow eyes. Their bodies were brilliantly crafted, with their blue skin, tattoo-ish designs over their entire body, and the way they had spots that glowed in the dark in a artistic fashion. They fascinated me, and the way they treated each other was someplace I wish I could be. They were all in harmony with each other and Eywa, (which is basically like mother earth, so how they treat the forest and creatures). As soon as I saw Neytiri, my feelings were overwhelming. They were taking my adventures in my head to my level! I have dreamt of meeting one of the "alien" type females and developing a relationship, not all about sex as most people would have it, but getting to know her and learn their ways, sharing emotions with each other. Some might call me weird for saying that, but thats just me. The story satisfied me as well. There was a lot of suspense, action, drama, romance and a little bit of humor thrown in there to keep me sitting on the edge of my seat or wishing this was true. James Cameron did an amazing job when he wrote the script for this film in 1994, and made the right decision to wait until technology caught up with his script so it would be amazing. Brilliantly done movie, 10/10, go see it!

Stanleys Stamp Of Approval: I Actually Enjoyed It
19 January 2009
Warning: Spoilers
When the commercial for this first came out, I thought, "Ugh, another attempt to make a dog movie, like Beethoven. Lame." And as my life went on, I kept seeing good reviews on this movie, and a friend of mine read the book and said it was really good. So I decided to go see if it was worth watching. I came into the theater, now torn by whether I thought it was going to be a good movie, or a lame one.

Let me start with the characters. I thought Owen Wilson was a great actor for this part. I don't know what it is about him, but even a normal line made me laugh. He was just funny, but thats not all about him. He played his part as a husband and father well. Jennifer Aniston was a good character as well for her part. She played a good wife and mother. The way they played their parts got me really in touch with them. And Marley was hilarious. I thought my dog was bad, but not as bad as him. Eating the drywall and the floor? Hilarious! I got as much in touch with the dog as I did with Owen and Jennifer.

Next, I'll do the storyline. It was wonderful. This movie made me laugh, feel stressed, and sad. I admit, I was really close to crying at the end, because like I said before, I got really in touch with the characters, so i felt I was right there with them. The beginning of the movie was funny, and i laughed at a lot of the jokes. Towards the middle, when they had their kids, I started to feel stressed. They have a bad dog, and three kids!? I think the part that made me feel the worst was when Jennifer finally gets a time to rest after she put the kids to bed, and Marley starts to bark and tear things up, making the kids cry and Jennifer upset. Owen comes into the scene and they get into a really big argument. The ending was the best part in my book. When Marley was sick, and Owen said that the vet could put him to sleep was played out so well. The way Owen was talking to Marley, and one of the kids was watching a movie with Marley was really emotional. Also, Its not everyday I cry in a movie. In fact, I don't remember the last time I cried in a movie, but this one got me close to it.

Conclusion? A wonderful movie for the family. The best dog movie I've ever seen! Go see it for yourself! -$tanley

Stanleys Stamp Of Approval: This Game Is A Blast!
5 September 2008
I loved Mercenaries, and when i heard about the second one, I was pumped. A few days later I saw a commercial and I told all my friends about it. Then I played it, and I was hooked for hours. The first one was amazing. The second one is amazingly awesome. You can have the usual helicopters, trucks, tanks, cars, and including some new stuff, like motorcycles, sports cars, and yes, a moped. You are in Venesuela, so there is an obvious Venesuela setting, with a soundtrack to match it. The environment is destructible, for example, if your driving a tank, and you see a non-sturdy house you can plow right through it. So its a bit more destructive than the first. So it I were you, I would take the money you got, go out, and immediately buy it. Its a game you wont leave easily!!! -$tanley

Stanleys Stamp of Faliure: You Don't Want To SEE The Zohan
8 June 2008
I saw previews for this movie a couple times in theaters, like when I saw Iron Man and Indiana Jones. I thought it looked hilarious, and me and a couple of my buddies went to the theater to see it at 7:45. The beginning was absolutely hilarious. It was side splitting funny. I was thinking, 'this is going to be a great movie.' STOP!!! Hold on. when this movie got towards the middle, where he first gets a job at a low class hair salon, i felt sick beyond all reasons. Never have I seen a movie this revolting. The previews for this movie never even gave hints as to what I was seeing. Okay, Zohan has sex with a teenagers mom? and the comment after, "I don't think i can walk," made me sick. I can take sex jokes. But not with people this old. when he starts making a sex name for himself at the hair salon, old women start pouring in. I was just about to get up and walk out the theater with the other 25% of the other people when the movie cut to two old women in skimpy nurse outfits. Im not joking either, about 25% of the movie watchers walked out. Not to mention it shows the teenagers moms butt, Zohan bangs the elderly women in the back room when he's done with their hair and has the women limp out of the back room, so on and so forth. It looked like Adam had wrote the beginning to be funny, and some twisted insane person walked into his room and wrote the middle. The ending was more humorous relief. Basically, a good side-splitting movie at the beginning and end and no middle. And because of the middle of the movie, Adam and his other two fellow writers can thank each other because I'm not seeing this movie again.

In the end, don't see this movie. I regret seeing it.

Stanleys Stamp Of Approval: He's, Back, And I'm Likin Every Minute Of It!!!
23 May 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I have been an Indiana Jones fan ever since I was two years old. When I first saw the poster in the movie theater, I was speechless. Another Indiana Jones movie?!?! I could not wait.

So I ordered tickets on Fandango to avoid a sold-out movie, and saw it on the 22nd at 6:45. I sat anticipated in my seat while the theater played its commercials. Then it started, and I sat in my seat amazed.

What I liked about Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, is first off, it had the same filming look as it did with the original Indiana Jones movies. If you've ever seen Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, and how it was filmed with that old age look? Same goes with the newer King Kong. It kind of had that little faded look, which I loved.

I also liked the stunts. Okay, sure, where Mutt had one foot on one truck and the other foot on the second truck, that was probably a tad extreme. If the Russian driver wanted to, all he had to do was jerk the steering wheel, and there goes Mutt. But I loved the motorcycle chase that was toward the beginning. And when Indy was in the warehouse being chased be Russians, loved it.

The story was pretty well done. People said they didn't like the whole "Alien" part... Cry cry cry. Lets check the other Indiana Jones movies. Didn't they all have something that was supernatural or such? Peoples faces melting, ripping someones hear out and the guy lives (for so long ha ha) so on.

The characters. Okay, so why were people complaining about how old Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones) is? When he first came onto the screen he looked absolutely fine to me. Sure, his hair was a little whiter. So? His trusty hat covered that up. When Karen Allen (Marion) came on screen, I was like, "woah, where did she come from?" She was a little bit older, but I loved her character. I must agree with a few people on Cate Blanchett (Irina) as an enemy. She didn't look like a good enemy. I wouldn't have been afraid to go up against her. Later on in the movie, during the sword fight, I had second thoughts on going up against her. Shia LaBeouf (Mutt) wasn't as bad as I thought he would be. He did a pretty good job for his part. He seemed to fit right in with that day-and-age. And what in the world was up with Ray Winstone (Mac)? That guy kept pissing me off! "Im your friend" "Now I work with the Russians because of the pay" "Im in trouble, I'm on your side!" I would've stopped trusting him as soon as he gave me up... TO RUSSIANS!!! John Hurt (Professor Oxley) was a good character for his part. Although the way he kept clutching to the skull made him look a little like a mentally challenged kid, but once he recovered i liked him.

How good did it do? Its my second favorite. Sure, it want like the originals, but the action, characters, and story made up for that.

I loved this movie. It was very well done, and it was well worth the wait. Its another great Indiana Jones movie I shall be adding to my collection, and definitely deserved all 10 stars I gave it. GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!! -$tanley

Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005 Video Game)
Stanleys Stamp of Approval: Fast Paced Action Fun!!!
22 April 2008
Oh man, as soon as I saw this game was available, I HAD to buy it. And I was NOT disappointed. I enjoyed the map, the cop chases, the customizations (though there could've been more parts, but it was satisfying for me) and the fourth generation Mitsubishi Eclipse. This is a great game. The music was pretty good, it got me hooked on some new artists (thats usually what happens on the Need for Speed games for me), and I liked the mix of music genre. The graphics were really great on the Xbox360. This is another great Need for Speed games that I really recommend buying. If your a fan of cars, speed chases, and customization, buy this game!!!

Stanleys Stamp Of Approval: One Of The Greatest Action Movies Of All Time!!!
31 December 2007
I was a kid when i first saw this movie. I was just in it for the action, and not really the story. But I still loved it. Now that I am older, I have the DVD box set, and I love every frame of these three movies. George Lucas and Steven Spielberg knocked themselves out on this movie. With the DVD box set, I could definitely tell the difference in the lighting, color, surround sound, etc. It is all excellent. Good job George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, for making a film I enjoyed as a kid, I enjoy as a teen, and will enjoy as an adult. Go buy the DVD Box Set if you want something good to watch.

Stanleys Stamp Of Approval: Excellent, Smart, The Best Zombie Movie I Have Ever Seen
31 December 2007
I saw 28 Days Later, and I loved it. It was scary, bloody, and a job well done. Then I saw a commercial for 28 Weeks Later, and I felt my pulse quicken. I saw it in theaters, and I was NOT disappointed. I walked out of the theater with a smile on my face. It was the absolute coolest zombie film I have ever seen. The helicopter scene, where a helicopters blades take out a field of zombies, kept running through my mind. It was extremely well done. The whole movie was well done. I would have loved to help film this movie. If your a fan of horror/zombie films, your hands may be shaking right now. You have good reason to! Go out and rent the movie! Im not going to tell you any more, because I want you to enjoy this movie at its fullest. Are you still sitting here!?

Stanleys Stamp Of Approval: Olaf= Ecxellent, Violet= Beautiful, Writing=Stupendous
31 December 2007
This was a great movie. I have read a recent review that this was not like the books, and its true. I did read the books first, and by that time, the movie came out, and I loved it. But the writing of the movie was stupendous. If you read the books, and then watched the movie, you'll see how much they are different from each other. But I liked how the first three books were mixed up, and it was great. Now, Count Olaf/ Jim Carry, was an excellent character for this movie. I could not see any other actor as good as Jim in this movie. He was full of sarcasm and funny lines. Violet and Klaus were good characters for this movie. Violet was beautiful, and Klaus was just like the Klaus in the book. Sunny was okay. When she said, "oookay" when the three kids were with Aunt Josephine, made me laugh, but the rest, eh, okay. The music, was wonderful. Other movies usually use the same music on a movie, but this was a series of music that gave you the feeling that you would actually hear it if you were there. Overall: outstanding movie. -$tanley

Stanleys Stamp Of Approval: Hands Down One Of The Best Action Movies
30 December 2007
I was a late bloomer, watching Bourne Identity and then Bourne Supremacy. They were great, and left me guessing. Then later, the Bourne Ultimatum rolls around, and it looked like a great piece of movie making. So I decided to go see it in theaters and was blown away. I love movie making, and I was as much in depth about how they did the making of the movie, like the stunts and all, rather than the movie itself. I saw it again, and I loved it just as much as the first time. I always laughed when, Roberts, I believe, was outsmarted by Bourne. Now, what I really like about Bourne, isn't like James Bond, who pulls out his granade launching watch (dramatization) and blows everyone away. Bourne uses his fighting skills, environment, and his head. For example, where he and Desh were fighting in the house, Bourne used a towel to defend himself against Deshs' razor. Bourne is a quick thinker, who knows what to do as soon as it happens. When Bourne was leading the reporter around the Waterloo Station, my friend and I were joking that Bourne had Google Earth all in his head. But overall, an incredible film. Bravo to all who made this film happen. -$tanley

Stanleys Stamp Of Failure: What Is Happening To Our World!?
26 October 2007
I don't remember when I first saw this show, but i absolutely HATED it! Hated!!! Does everyone who hasn't seen this retarded show, like to know? Bad acting, stupid retarded jokes, crappy writing, mentally retarded directing, f****d production... I CANT STAND IT!!! I don't normally cuss online, but this is so frustrating that people actually watch and make money off of this crap is above me. Obviously when people fall, their dummies, a bird flies by, its obvious CGI, and it can be horribly out of proportion... Just do humanity a favor... Please, I'm begging you with all my heart, don't watch it. I watched it, I'm scarred forever with these stupid kids making money off of bad acting. The only funny one in this is the black manager. Which is an okay actor, but the rest is baloney. -$tanley

Stanleys Stamp of Failure: They Make Money On This!?
26 October 2007
This is absolutely one of the WORST shows, ever. Period. I have no idea, how ANYONE can watch this! Its one of those shows thats so stupid, you fell like crying, but you cant stop watching it! The acting is Horrible!!! Absolutely Horrible!!! Hannah Montanas' accent is totally fake. She cant sound country for her own sake! Otherwise, she wouldn't be making these retarded shows. The show is not funny, what so ever! My sister watches it all the time, and I CANT STAND IT!!! I cant believe people are actually making money off of this. Another thing that makes me really mad, is what she talks about. Shes saying, that 'I'm better than you all, and you know it. You will never be as (so called) good as me.' I cant believe that I'm finally telling all who are reading this about how i feel. Please, for your sake and mine... Don't WATCH IT!!! -$tanley

Stanleys Stamp Of Approval: I Cried Laughing So Hard
26 October 2007
My friend introduced me to this show, and I laughed so hard at these Asians doing stupid things, I actually cried. The only other time I cried while watching some comedy movie was Super Troopers. But this show has great dubbing, hilarious cracks and jokes, and funny spills and crashes. I honestly don't know how someone could even get back up on some of the falls that happened. I remember watching one where one guy tried to do a back flip, but in midair, his head smashed into the dirt. He got back up, and continue running, but fell over again. This show is painful, but hilarious to watch. Also, listen to these words of advice: DON'T WATCH THIS SHOW ON MUTE!!! It takes the fun out of it, and you wont laugh as hard. -$tanley

Stanleys Stamp Of Approval: An Action Packed Funny Adventure!
24 October 2007
I saw this movie in theaters, and I loved it. The fighting scenes were excellent, a lot of the lines made me laugh, and the story line was great. I definitely liked how the writer connected two plots together, and i liked the music they added into the movie. As soon as it was out on DVD, i had to buy it. I had watched it over and over again (especially the boat scene). The actors were sensational. I fell in love with Penelope Cruz when I first saw her. Steve Zahn was hysterical, and an excellent actor. Metthew McConaughey was the perfect actor for his part. Like I said, run out to your nearest video store and buy/rent this movie. I was glad I did.
