On a Clear Day You Can See Forever (1970)
This is a prime example of what "Entertainment" should be.
I'm a sucker for Romantic Comedy Fantasy movies and even more so when Musical is also included in the classification. This is not a movie for intellectuals, but it is hugely entertaining to anyone who likes this kind of movie. Yves Montand is a bit wooden throughout, but Barbra Streisand is at her bubbling best and I love the title song. Strangely enough, this movie does not exist in France with French subtitles, so I only have a copy of the English version. I cannot wait for the day when it is available on DVD with French subtitles.
The Savage Innocents (1960)
A Stunning movie
This is an extremely powerful and stunning movie portraying Innuit Eskimos and the way their living habits clash with our sensitive Western "civilisation". It is extremely annoying not to be able to find it in either VHS or DVD format. Hopefully this will be put right soon. A must for Anthony Quinn fans!
That Lady in Ermine (1948)
One of the better Betty Grable movies!
I really enjoyed this Lubitsch movie with Betty Grable. It made quite a change from her usual "musicals", and I cannot again understand why there have been no videos or DVDs made of it. Younger viewers who don't even know who Betty Grable is will surely appreciate this Lubitsch movie. Here's hoping!
The Wild North (1952)
One of Stewart Granger's best movies - DVD needed!!!
I am surprised that no videos or DVDs have been made of this movie. Certainly one of the best Stewart Granger movies I have ever seen (second only to Scaramouche).
