Batman Begins (2005)
Amazing!
25 July 2008
This is the first Batman film i've ever saw. I heard that it was meant to be good so i took time out to watch it on Sky Movies the other night, i'm glad i did it was amazing!

I'm not really into superhero films but this film has got me right into them now! I've seen two superhero films this year and enjoyed two superhero films this year, they would be The Incredible Hulk and this one.

Batman Begins tried to make a superhero movie realistic, and does a good job of it. It's not cheesy, it's dark and not made for young children.

It also has some humour in it too. Alfred often reminded me of Q from the 007 films, witty and funny. The humour in this film saves it from being 100% dark and dry.

I'll hopefully be going to the cinema to see "The Dark Knight" soon, it looks amazing too and it's supposed to be even better than this one! Need i say more.

Hancock (2008)
Not bad for £3.80!
20 July 2008
It's great being thirteen, cinema tickets don't cost as much! lol. Anyway i had no real plans to see this movie until i was asked to go on Saturday night, i decided to go as i thought it would be a good laugh, plenty of giggles to be had!

It's about a much disliked superhero Hancock, who is costing the city millions in damages due to his wreckless behaviour, and after saving the life of a business man, that man has a plan to win Hancock back his respect! I'll leave the rest for you to discover.

Some parts of the film wern't funny, mainly because of the fact i'd seen the joke about a million times already on TV! I also disliked the fact that the plot had a sudden change half-way through, from being about Hancock redeeming himself to a stupid plot involving a superwoman who is much stronger than Hancock! Those are my only real complaints, the rest of the film is fine.

A disappointing end to an otherwise fantastic trilogy
17 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't have high expectations for The Godfather Part III. After hearing that it "wrecked" the trilogy and the many jokes aimed at it through TV shows. But i'm still disappointed with this film, it's a real poor effort to capitalise on the success of the first two godfather films, it doesn't really fit in well with the rest of the trilogy. It's a real let down to be honest.

Francias Ford Coppola really should've toned down on the amount of talking in this film. There's way too much of it, seriously. I found myself loosing concentration and letting my mind drift away and think about other things.

Another criticism about this film is it's length. I probably would've rated this film higher if it was about an hour shorter. And it's not only The Godfather Part III that was too long, the whole trilogy is too long in my opinion! They should've made these films shorter in my opinion.

I don't want a Godfather Part IV, three is enough and it would be hard to continue the saga without Michael Corleone...

This films delivers like Royal Mail Special Delivery!!!
17 July 2008
Some of you may notice that this is my second review of "The Bourne Ultimatum". The first time i wasn't impressed at all, i thought it was disappointing, dull, boring, slow paced etc, etc. But then it was showing on Sky Movies Premiere, the TV guide gave it 5 stars, i was outraged. Then last night, with very little to do, i decided to watch it. I'm glad i did watch it as i found it pulse-pounding, adrenaline rushing, heart pounding excitement from start to finish, i'm so glad that i took time out to watch it, it was awesome!!!

The plot continues on from "The Bourne Supremacy" with Jason Bourne still in Russia, on the run from the CIA and trying to find out his real identity. I'll leave you to discover the rest of the plot.

I'm actually thinking on repurchasing the first two Bourne films, give them another try. How can i love this instalment while hating the first two?

Deja Vu (2006)
Decent, brain busting film
12 July 2008
This is actually my second viewing of Deja Vu. The first time i wasn't that impressed, i found it boring at times and not very thrilling. I would've gave it a 6/10 at the time. But i decided to by the DVD the other day and, well i was impressed!

It's basically about Agent Doug Carlin, who investigates an explosion on a ferry, with the help of this team of people who have found out a way to look 4 days into the past.

I'll leave it to you to find out what happens in the end, but i warn you, it's not the sort of film that you should watch whenever your feeling tired! You need to be wide awake to understand the time travelling aspects.

So overall, it's a decent, solid film.

As good as the original!
9 July 2008
I remember saying in my review of "The Godfather" that i was going to review this film a week later, that was more than one week ago that's for sure. I did actually start watching "The Godfather Part II" the next Friday, though i stopped watching after an hour because i wasn't really in the mood for it! So i decided that today, with nothing else to do, i'd give it another try and i wasn't disappointed! It was a great film, lots of talking but it's still great fun to watch.

I only have one criticism, the length. It was extremely long, about 3 and a half hours! But that's my only criticism, everything else was spot on! Hopefully i'll be watching "The Godfather Part III" soon and as soon as i do, i'll post my opinion right here!

So overall, "The Godfather Part II" is just as good as the original Godfather If you haven't seen this film yet, watch it now!

Not very funny but the story makes this film a decent watch!
3 July 2008
I'll be honest with you, i didn't laugh out loud at any part of this film, i giggles and laughed at this film, it wasn't very funny but what made this film was the story, it was entertaining to see how Gerry and the crew would succeed in making and producing their own remakes (they're not all bad people!)

Well, i've basically told you the plot in that first paragraph, this guy Gerry, Mike and the head of the shop, after Gerry erases all their tapes, they have to create their all remakes of well known films like "Ghostbusters" and "Rush Hour 2"!

So overall, it's an entertaining film, not very funny, but it's the story that made this film. I'm not sure if it was worth my money but i still got some decent entertainment out of it!

NYC: Tornado Terror (2008 TV Movie)
Poor New York City is hit again!
3 July 2008
I caught this on Sky Movies Premiere today, it's a very wet, dull day and there was nothing else on TV so i thought i'd watch this (it got **/***** so i thought it wouldn't be too bad)

Okay, it's cheesy, the special effects are bad, and the Science in the film might be inaccurate but it tells the story in a way that people may believe. If your into big budgets, amazing special effects and big name actors, this is not for you!

It's about a series of tornado's that are set to destroy, guess where.....New York (that city has been through some rough times) and it's up to Cassie and her husband to save the day! I won't spoil the ending like i do in a lot of my reviews, i thought i'd let you (the reader) find out for yourself!

So overall, it's a decent film, nothing special but it's fun none the less.

Not l.o.l. but still pretty funny
1 July 2008
I used to think Futurama was in the shadow of The Simpsons, but now that i've seen so many of the Simpson's episodes about 20 times, Futurama is more fresh and just as much fun.

It's good to see Futurama back with four movies coming out over the next year, it's hard to bring a show from the small screen to the big screen without it becoming a disaster! They normally don't fare well with critics but i like the ones i've saw! "Futurama: Benders Big Score" is a pretty decent movie, it's short so the jokes stay fresh and arn't overused, but just like "The Simpsons Movie" the plot is insane and wacky, but that's what you have to expect from shows like these!

So overall it's a pretty decent flick, it's not a laugh out loud film but it's still pretty funny and worth a watch!

Absolutaly Hilarious, So Much Fun!!!
1 July 2008
I remember i was at a friends house one Sunday afternoon and he decided to put on "Team America: World Police". I'd never heard of the film at the time, and i wasn't sure to watch it or not. I then decided to and i wasn't disappointed, a country mile from it!

I was laughing my head of all the way through it, from start to finish, it was so, so funny!!! I haven't saw this film in about two years so i can't remember all the jokes, all i remember is that they were hilarious!

I can't really remember the plot to this film, it has been a while, i'll have to buy the film myself someday and have another laughing session!

So overall......well, it's too funny for words!!!

Flubber (1997)
As good as i remember it!
29 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I remember one Christmas i wanted this film, it was 1998, i was 4 years old. I don't know what attracted me to this film, i don't even think there was a cinema near me when this film was out. It must've been an ad on TV or something, i can't remember but at least i got it in the end!

My mum says i watched it loads of times, that's probably true. Then i stopped watching it, don't know why i can't remember. Now, the video's lost, and for some reason i've never bothered to by the DVD.

Then, as i was reading the TV Guide, i realised it was on BBC1 on Sunday afternoon, of course not having seen it in years and years i decided to watch it, and it was still as enjoyable as it always was! Well okay, i probably enjoyed it a lot more when i was little but i still like it now! I definitely going to get my hands on that DVD someday.

The film it's self is about a professor in financial trouble who invents a strange rubber substance with a life of it's own in an attempt to solve his money problems. However, his plan takes an unexpected turn, leading to all sorts of crazy happenings!

So overall, this film is fun and suitable for the whole family.

Alright Comic Adventure!
20 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
While flicking through the TV Guide one day i realised that this film was showing on BBC One that afternoon, that was OK but then i realised that funny man Lloyd Bridges was starring in it. That's why i chose to watch it, if he wasn't in it i probably wouldn't have watch

Wayne is at it again. But instead of shrinking things, he tries to make a machine that can make things grow. As in the first one, his machine isn't quite accurate. But when he brings Nick & his toddler son Adam to see his invention, the machine unexpectedly starts working. And when Adam comes right up to the machine, he gets zapped along with his stuffed bunny. Now, whenever Adam comes near anything electrical, the electricity causes him to grow. Adam soon starts to grow to the height of 150 feet. And he is now walking through Las Vegas which he thinks is one big play land.

It wasn't a laugh out loud comedy, i wasn't rolling on the floor laughing with tears coming down my face, i was just chuckling at parts, its not very funny, just funny in parts.

So overall it's an alright film, i would've splash out on the DVD though, but if it's on on a boring Saturday afternoon i probably watch it again!

The Godfather (1972)
Atlast, i've seen The Godfather!
14 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I've been wanting to see this film for a while now, so i bought the new Godfather box set - The Coppola Restoration. I was worried that i wouldn't enjoy the film, because it is #1 here on IMDb and i had high expectations, i wasn't disappointed.

To be honest with you, i thought it took the film about 30 minutes to get into it's stride, after that it got really good and enjoyable. It was so good after that, i had to sleep on it whether to give it a 9/10 or a 10/10, it really was a hard choice, believe me.

The new Godfather Trilogy is rated for ages 15 and over, while previous trilogies have been rated for ages 18 and over. 15+ is a good rating, although there are some intense scenes (Sonny getting killed at the Tollbooth for example) it really doesn't deserve an 18 rating, i was expecting heads to have been blown apart and such but it's not that violent really.

Now i can finally say i've seen The Godfather, and i loved it. I'll hopefully bee watching "The Godfather Part II" next week and hope it's just as good, my thoughts will be posted here!

Better Than I Expected!
13 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
All be straight with you, i'm not a big fan of superhero films, i might try some in the future who knows but for now i'm staying away from them.

I only went to this film because some of our school was going to the cinema, and it was a choice between "Superhero Movie" or this and since i saw Superhero Movie the week before, this was my only real choice.

My favourite parts of the film were when Bruce Banner (a.k.a. The Hulk) gets chased by the government, they were really epic to watch, also the Hulk fight scenes were also good fun to watch.

Some parts of the film were boring at times but on the whole it was a decent film! The best thing was that it was free, my good old school payed for the whole thing, nice!

Elizabeth (1998)
Very dull, uninteresting movie...
6 June 2008
I saw this in History class about six months ago, i don't remember much about the film except for the fact that i was bored out of my mind watching it. It wasn't exciting, it wasn't interesting, it definitely wasn't fun and i definitely wouldn't recommend it!!!

It's about the life of Elizabeth I, and if her life was as boring as this movie, i feel for her, i really do :(

There's not much else to say, it was so bad that i couldn't really be bothered paying attention to it, it's not worth a rent for a Saturday night in, it could be your last.

Hopefully this review wasn't as much of a torture as the movie was.

As "exciting" as the first...
6 June 2008
...if you can't tell i'm being sarcastic.

I hated the first Elizabeth film, it was an uninteresting, boring film but enough about one bad film, let's go on to another, sadly...

Okay, this was better but not much, the ending was very impressive but the other parts of the film lacked in every category, it was not just the lack of quality, the film was too gory for my liking, there were times where i had to look away from the screen, that made it even worse.

It's basically about the Spanish Armada, that's all i picked up on the film, there's also some love story plot as well but i don't know what happened with it.

That's about it really, hope i've put you off purchasing or renting this film, you'll be glad i did.

Zucker produces his best spoof in 14 years!!!
6 June 2008
I went to the cinema to see "Superhero Movie" this evening, i was expecting a Scary Movie 3/Scary Movie 4 sort of standard but i was surprised, it was even better than them, and that's saying something!!!

This is my favourite spoof since i saw the amazing (and a favourite) Naked Gun 33 1/3 a while ago, sure there were no Hollywood A-Listers like Tom Cruise (although he is spoofed in this movie, and spoofed well) but there's still my all time favourite actor Leslie Nielsen, and once again he delivers the same hilarious jokes he is known for!

If you want to know the plot, it's basically the same as Spiderman, only with a funny twist.

I'm disappointed that it has only made $47,000,000 worldwide so far, it's a great film and it's sad that it's not being recognised by the public, now the chances of a sequel are very low :(

Anyway, those guys who didn't go see it are missing out and it's their own fault, they don't know what there missing.

Not many spoofs coming out that interest me for a good while, well "Disaster Movie" is coming out in late August so it should be fun and i guess that's it for spoofs until "Scary Movie 5" comes out in late 2009, ah well.

Enjoyable film
3 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I saw the PG-Rated version of this film last night, i bought the video of eBay. I would like a DVD release soon though as the picture quality was pretty poor. Some of the night sequences were almost impossible to see and the audio was iffy at times but all things considered i enjoyed it still.

The film stars John Travolta as Tony Manero, who after six days of hard work at a local paint store, heads down to his local Disco and catches "Saturday Night Fever". Everything is not all ship-shape for tony though, he has to battle naggy parents, a relationship and some mad friends.

It annoys me that people criticise the sequel, it's great fun, okay the plot is weak but it's still enjoyable. And also how can one single film temporarily kill his career, weird.

So overall a good, fun film. I wish this version was out on DVD though, come on Paramount i need this DVD!!!

Goldfinger (1964)
Truly Fantastic Entertainment!!!
1 June 2008
After i watched "For Your Eyes Only" way back in January, i was put off Bond films, i hated it so, so much! It was that bad i couldn't finish it, that's how terrible it was!

The months went by with several Bond films on TV, i didn't care for them, then i got a feel for 007 again and decided to by the Ultimate Edition DVD of Goldfinger (i already has the VHS, but an upgrade was needed). I hadn't saw the film in ages and thought it would be good to see it again.

Oh, what a good choice it was, this film re-ignited my love for the 007 films, pure enjoyment from the first minute to the very last!

I'll defiantly be seeing more 007 films in a short time, no 4 month gap this time!!!

Why arn't i giving this a 10/10? Well, no film is perfect!

Scary Movie 3 (2003)
It's no Airplane! or Naked Gun but it's still pretty good!
16 May 2008
I have to admit i enjoyed Scary Movie 4 more than this, i found it a bit funnier than Scary Movie 3 but not much more funny, this film is still fun to watch though and is a good way to spend a night in.

I've forgotten what actually happens in Scary Movie 3 (i finished watching it about 10 minutes ago lol) all i can remember is that it's about a video that kills people and aliens invading the earth.

Couple of my favourite actors are in this film: Charlie Sheen (Tom) he was pretty funny and Leslie Nielsen (President Harris) he wasn't as funny in this as he was in Scary Movie 4 but still he was funny, as usual!

So all things considered it's a decent watch, no Oscar winner or anything like that but it's a good film that doesn't need you to think!

Scary Movie 4 (2006)
A quite funny, enjoyable spoof!
2 May 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I've been wanting to see Scary Movie 4 for a good while now, i got my copy of eBay for the tiny sum of £3.00, a wise purchase it was, Scary Movie 4 was worth every penny i invested into it!

Here is a summary of the plot from wikipedia.org.... Anna Faris and Regina Hall are back as the lovable, dim-witted Cindy Campbell and her self-serving, sex-crazed pal Brenda Meeks respectively. They are joined this time around by Craig Bierko as the cute, but utterly clueless, Tom Ryan. Together, they battle to save the world from a ruthless alien invasion. Cindy moves in next to Tom because she's taking care of an old lady. She later finds out the house is haunted by a little boy and goes on a quest to find out who killed him and why. Also, Alien "triPods" are invading the world and Cindy has to uncover the identity of the young boy's murderer in order to stop them.

The main reason i got this film is because it had David Zucker & Leslie Nielsen involved in it, if the Wayans made this and there was no Leslie Nielsen, i wouldn't have bought this film.

David Zucker and Jim Abrahams show that they have lost none of the quality he showed over 20 years ago, now we just need Jerry Zucker for Scary Movie 5 to make it complete!

Leslie Nielsens performance in "Scary Movie 4" was by far the funniest in the film, he has also proved that he's lost none of the quality he showed over 20 years ago, almost everything he said made me laugh, that's just like him, keep up the good work Leslie!

So overall it's a funny, enjoyable film that, if you enjoy spoofs you should enjoy this as well!

Funny Stuff!!!
19 April 2008
Okay, lets get one thing straight, it's not the best spoof of all time, but it's still a fun and enjoyable comedy that most of the family can sit down and watch!

Llyod Bridges is in very good form in this film, very funny man he is (he's like Leslie Nielsen), and this film doesn't disappoint, plenty of funny lines and acting makes him the funniest guy in this film and series!

Chopper Harley is also quite funny in this film, plenty of great lines and acting from him as well!

If you like spoofs like Airplane! The Naked Gun etc you'll enjoy this!

Lighten Up People!!!
18 April 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I decided on Thursday afternoon that me and my mate would go see Meet The Spartans on Friday evening. I was really looking forward to it (i normally get excited when i go to the cinema!), but i wasn't expecting the sheer enjoyment i got from "Meet The Spartans", it was so funny, me and my mate were laughing are heads off, that's how funny it really was, seriously, use people need to lighten up!

I wasn't expecting many to be at this film, me and my mate were nearly the only ones in the cinema, these two other boys also came to see it as well, at least we had a good choice of seating anyway!

During the film, i kept saying "This is great" and my mate kept on clapping at the many hilarious jokes. We also questioned why this film got so many negative reviews, i answered "I don't know, i really don't know!"

Come on people, it's not meant to be taken seriously, if you did, well no comment is my answer, there were so many funny jokes in this film, can't wait to it comes out on DVD, really can't!

Also i can't wait for there next film, Goodie Two Shoes! It clearly shows that these guys have lost none of that skill they shown in Spy Hard! Keep it up guys, ignore the criticism, and keep making these sort of films!!!

Harvey (1996 TV Movie)
Not bad for a TV Movie
16 April 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Well, that ends the run of 8/10's. It was a good run while it lasted, many weeks of happiness but life goes on. WOAH! Don't jump to conclusions, this isn't a bad film, i still enjoyed it, though it wasn't as good as the last few films i've saw recently.

It's basically about Elwood P. Dowd, who has an imaginary friend, a 6ft 8.5 inch tall rabbit called Harvey, who spends his time with Harvey at Charlies Place, he buys theatre tickets for Harvey, a place is set for him at the dinner table, Harvey is Elwoods best friend, but is it time that Elwood woke up and smelt the coffee, that Harvey doesn't really exist?....

Leslie Nielsen stars in this film (if you didn't know, he's one of my favourite actors) i liked his performance, it was funny but i hated his dodgy French accent, he should've kept his usual, striking voice that he is remembered by! Other than that his performance was good.

So overall, a good, enjoyable film, it's not a classic, far from it but, there's nothing wrong with it.

The Day After Tomorrow Film Review
11 April 2008
This is my FOURTH 8/10 in a row now, this is getting a bit scary, i mean i really know how to pick a good film, and this is another example, i bought the 1 Disc-Edition in HMV for a mere £3 (forget the special editions, i buy DVD's for the film, not the special features) a real bargain for a cracker of a film!

Who cares if the film lacks logic, you don't watch films for facts, you watch them for pleasure. If you want facts, watch the history channel or something, Airport '79 also lacked logic but i still enjoyed it!

So, my overall opinion is that The Day After Tomorrow is a very good and enjoyable film, well worth the small £3 i paid for it! Which gives it my fourth....

8/10 in a row!
