This Is Us (2016)
Totally a political show
Used to be my favorite until season 4. Now it's hard to watch. Political correction, blm, covid 19 paranoia.
Sorry, I can't take it anymore.
Wild in the Country (1961)
Great,my favorite Elvis movie
Wild in the country was the third and last try for Elvis to became a real serious actor, after King Creole and Flaming Star.
There is no singing there, only one or two songs and the story isn't for family entertaining as in the typical Elvis movies.
Elvis as Glenn Tyler is an outsider young guy, with troubles with the law.The rest of the story is extreme for it's time(single moms, alcoholism e.g.) and although the movie was Great,it was a market failure,as King Creole and Flaming Star also was, probably because people needed to watch a feel-good movie with Elvis and not s/th heavy and dark.
Although Presley demonstrated that he was an Excellent actor, never tried to play drama again. His next movie,a typical musical, called Blue Hawaii stayed in the top of box-office for 18 weeks, who can blame him?
King Creole (1958)
Great Noir
This is not a typical Elvis movie.I believe that this is the first serious attempt of the King to became a real actor.
The film located in New Orleans reminds a lot the 50s Rebelion movies like "Rebel without a Cause" with James Dean or the "Wild One" with Marlon Brando.
Elvis in King Creole is not the good guy,but an outsider kid with problems to finish the school, who fights, steals, cheating girls, became a part of the underworld, only because he don't wont to be a working man with the head down, like his father.
The cast is superb, not only the King, but an excellent Walter Matthaou as the bad guy and Dean Jagger as the Father of Elvis.
King Creole was the favorite movie of Elvis and i believe one of his best together with "Wild In the Country" and "Flaming Star"
Elvis (2005)
Didn't liked it.
This particular movie, much more imagination to work can be seen, despite a thorough representation of the character of Elvis. Many incorrect regarding dates, lies as much with the relationship between the mythical high-profile with Tom Parker, since in fact, Elvis himself took the decisions concerning his career with the right and the mistakes and never been the subject of dismissal Parker
Eventually the project was nothing but a pile of mass circulation despite clichés and the malignant character of Elvis, despite a real look in his personality.
Also isn't finished, after Stands in 1968, without the most show no qualitative artistic and interesting personal journal of the King.
The selection of high-profile failed, more like a comedian seems, except as Elvis, especially when trying to capture the stage presence of the king.
Ftina tsigara (2000)
Greek Bohemian Life
What a Movie! It isn't about the story, but for the feelings that creates to the viewer.
A guy round 30, lives free in the city of Athens, don't want to work, don't want to be like everyone else,he loves to relax in bars smoking and listening other peoples stories, when he talks,he talks poetic.
"The only job that i am able to do,is God's job" is the answer to the question about his job.
See also the Great Performance of Iatropoulos as "Manolis".
A true must see. Masterpiece 10/10
JCVD (2008)
Terrible.
I never thought that Van Damme gonna play a real movie.I thought he was an "actor" that makes movies only for people with low IQ or for someone who wants just to relax. After i read all the good reviews here, i thought hey maybe that guy made a really good film.
I was wrong, the film is terrible. You can say that is joke. Really low budget,no story at all, acting worst than a cow. His really worst movie ever, because isn't even a typical action movie.
I think that JCVD tried to fool people.
Don't
Watch
It
The Godfather Part III (1990)
They made a crime
Hm, they made a crime not because Al Pacino or Andy Garcia are not good actors, they made a crime because they shot the legend of the strong character of Michael Corleone (the Godfather). How they dare to make the fearless man of the two first Godfathers,to a spiritually weak old man we watched in the third Godfather?
Why they done that after 16 years? I think only for money! And is sad to watch the creators of a masterpiece you loved and inspired, not to respect their selfs, you and their creation. Al Pacino said that:Godfather 3 was a big mistake. As an honest man he told the truth!
I wish never watched that film.If you are a fun of the Godfather don't watch that film or even you do just tell your self that the real end was Godfather 2.
