The Beekeeper (2024)
We'll deal with corruption quietly in five minutes.
So, I was presented with a new action movie from a dubious director of a superhero and a legend of all the funny stuff that was in the action movies. Only a madman would dare to do such a thing, but I breathed more air and crossed the threshold of the cinema.
I wouldn't be surprised if I caught Heit on my neck, but I'd say I liked it. Yes, there were absurdities in it, but against the background of the general look looks good.
Statham traditionally makes noodles of bad uncles, who this time breed his good acquaintance and he goes back to his past to heat up and expose the corrupt system that has swept all the states and even the president, who, for the sake of her office, does not skimp on fraud and bribery.
Brutal men, conspiracies, intrigues and a strong fist of Clay, which will untie this «Gordian knot» will make the hearts beat more often. Yes, it is not a nominee for «Oscar» and «Golden Globe», but it is definitely worth a look, though the rating is frightening.
-If the beekeeper says you're going to die, you're going to die! (Bad but knowledgeable uncle from Jeremy Irons)
Les trois mousquetaires: D'Artagnan (2023)
It wasn't just brave
In 2023, everyone suddenly remembered the Musketeers. Someone makes failed experiments with black heroes, and someone decides to show an action movie that reflects the life and history of those times.
I liked that the Musketeers here look like people of their rank. In previous film adaptations, there was an unrealistic purity and glamour for soldiers, but there is no such thing here.
The cast is brilliant. The treacherous Milady, the thoughtful Athos, the hot Porthos. 100% hit in images.
Of course, at first I was confused by the line of Athos, who was condemned to death, but then everything fell into place. I was amused by Athos' brother Benjamin, a hero who is neither an antagonist nor a protagonist, something in between and inconspicuous. It is he who is the turning point in the plot.
After the pendants, the authors decide to tickle our nerves with the wedding of his brother Louis the 14th. Terrorists under the dome, quiet chants, peace and death, the trigger just above the king's head - a frenzied contrast.
I recommend it as a fascinating and rather daring film adaptation.
