Rent (2005)
9/10
To put it briefly, Rent is brilliant
23 November 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I am a theatre geek to the core, when I heard that RENT (the most influential play of the 90s) was becoming a movie starring some of the original cast I pretty much could not contain myself until Today's release. Let's just say I saw the first showing at my local theatre (8:45 am).

The songs were perfect, Rosario Dawson really impressed me as Mimi (I admit- I was cynical) and everyone had great chemistry and energy. I really felt like I was watching it on Broadway. People were applauding (because other people where there at 8:45 am)and I was bawling. *spoiler*

When Angel dies and the funeral scene begins the waterworks began for me but when Mimi comes back to life and talks about how Angel told her to hear the music and go back I lost it. I don't think I had ever been that moved by anything. movie. play. book... I was really surprised I like the movie so much because I had built it up so much in my head.

I highly recommend it- if you are a theatre lover or just a movie lover everyone should see RENT!!!

Troy (2004)
4/10
This was not a good movie!
16 May 2004
Wow, this was one of the worst versions of any Homer story ever. The plots was mixed up, characters were missing and added, and the acting alone was atrocious. The only high spots in this movie were Erica Bana's actual ability to act and Diane Kruger's about average portrayal of Helen. Unfortunatly got Diane her Helen did not find an adaquet match with Orlando Bloom's Paris. It was just BAD. Lastly, Brad Pitt. Why did they want Achilles be so nice (and straight?) it is not the way Achilles is written in history. Just because everyone loves Brad Pitt does not mean they should try and make Achilles so likeable. And sorry Brad, but that virgin priestess you deflowered did not exist in real history!! I gave it a 4- out of pity.

It could have been good- but it wasn't.
15 February 2004
50 First Dates had the potential to be a sweet romantic movie about a guy trying to help the woman of his dreams fall in love with him every day, however it delivered a stupid movie filled with stalking, illogical ideas and penis jokes. Maybe I have too logical of a mind for a movie like this, didn't think I did, but apparantly I can't appreciate Rob Schiender in booty shorts and belly button tees and Sean Astin (who I used to respect) lisping in mesh muscle tank tops... this movie owes us a couple stars -**s

I Love the '70s (2003– )
8/10
Not as good as "I Love the 80s"...
1 September 2003
Not as good as "I Love the 80s" but it was still pretty good. But they didn't mention the nixon thing or elvis dying... hmm still good though. I love Hal Spark, Michael Ian Black and all the comedians, it was funny. kinda funny that all the years (practically) mentioned porn... neways can't wait for "80s Strike Back"

How to Deal (2003)
8/10
Better then I expected...
19 July 2003
I went to the movie friday expecting to have some eye candy (trent ford) and a good time with friends. I was blown away with how good this movie was. I couldn't believe how many points in teenage life they hit on. it was well delivered and it was a nice change from the huge blockbusters. (Which I have seen and liked.)

I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Me and my friends cried even.

Gotta Kick It Up! (2002 TV Movie)
The Spanish Bring it On, Disney Style
27 July 2002
Aside from the horribly predictable plot line, and the annoying use of 1 Spanish word in a sentance to make it have a ghetto Latino feel it was too bad. Disney has tried to get out of its good two shoes feel and hopefully will eventually. The movie was good and sweet but what can you expect from Disney other then that?

State of Grace (2001–2004)
Sweet
25 July 2002
I love this show, it is slightly predictable but is a goodhearted show. Its hard to find shows like that and it is one of the few good shows ABC family has to offer. The characters and easy to like and laugh at. Good hearted comedy is needed more then ever in a society were television is made up of sex, swearing and death.

Monk: Mr. Monk and the Candidate (2002)
Season 1, Episode 1
8/10
Interesting and unique.
19 July 2002
It was a good show idea and very funny. But I didn't feel that suspense feeling I was hoping to get. The commercials are too long and ill placed. It takes away from the show if you can mop the kitchen floor during breaks. But the show is a good idea and has humor which is something series like Law and Order don't have as much as. So for its lack or suspense it makes up for in humor and uniqueness.
