Criminal Minds: Burn (2014)
Penelope Garcia
The main story didn't catch my attention much on this one. And maybe that's because the subplot with Penelope stood above it head and shoulders. At first I was a little confused with why she felt so passionately about doing what she was doing against what everyone else thought but in the end that's who she is. She is the purest of heart and the best of humans. Not going to lie, the ending scene with Derek and the pure emotion she shows as she lets go made my heart absolutely break. If nothing else, this episode goes deep to showing who Penelope Garcia is.
Hypnotic (2021)
Not bad
First off I have to say I gave it a good rating because the execution of the actors was very nice... I have no complaints in that department at all. I do feel, however, that it was rushed and 88 minutes just wasn't enough to put in enough details and develop it as well as it could have been.
The Open House (2018)
Just.... No....
Read a quick blurb to see what it's about and then jump right in. No reviews, no spoilers, nada... maybe I shouldn't trust so blindly but usually it's fun... Today? Not so much. Usually I either get a pretty good movie or a bad movie... However, I don't know what the hell this was. Originally the tag line had me thinking this is more a supernatural thriller so I was a bit disappointed it was not. But, throughout the first 3/4 of the movie I was caught up. I wanted to know who it was. Each red herring got my mind turning and anticipating who the killer would turn out to be. Sadly, the ending was like the air being let out of a balloon and it flying away... There was no ending, no resolution, no whodunnit, no why, no tough as nails survivor who makes it to the end. NOTHING. I'm literally looking at the screen saying.Normally I don't review movies and I especially don't leave bad reviews because I usually like even some of the crappiest, campiest movies out there. But this? Just... no... I definitely would like to get that last hour and a half back. Thanks
Army Wives (2007)
Heartbreaking
Tonight was the season 2 premiere of our beloved Army Wives. I have to say I watched it twice and I balled like a baby thru the last ten minutes the first time and when it came on again every scene with Claudia Joy and Amanda made me cry again. First of all you think it's bad enough with Marilyn dying but we saw that coming at the end of last season. Joan being nice to Roland is, to me, a bunch of crap because she's not gonna chose him over her career. I know how Roxy felt. I was an army wife for a while and I know that not knowing is worse than knowing. Joan being a beotch like that kinda ticked me off though. Pamela is our glue right now her and Denise. They are holding it together no matter how bad it hurts. I feel sorry for Jeremy too. Losing Amanda is like losing a part of all of our hearts. I can't imagine a better way to open the season though even as I wish Amanda was still with us. And I'll be waiting every week to see more.
