The Continental: Loyalty to the Master (2023)
Season 1, Episode 2
2/10
This show ain't good... John Wick didn't need to become a franchise with spin offs. Just doesn't work without Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski
29 September 2023
We're now 2 episodes into this show now with 1 more to go. With each episode having nearly the same runtime as a John Wick film, it's clear that the magic formula of this franchise is Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski. The show doesn't even feel like it's part of the same world. The Continental Hotel doesn't even feel like the same one from the movies. There was no need for John Wick to have a spin off. Mission Impossible has never done a spin off, you know why? Because it wouldn't work without Tom Cruise. The same thing applies to John Wick, it just doesn't work without Keanu and Chad. I'll give the Ana De Armas film that's coming out soon a chance tho, as Keanu is actually going to appear in it.

The actor playing Winston has nowhere near the charisma and on screen presence of Ian McShane. Doesn't feel like the same character. The only good thing about this show is Mel Gibson, but other than that I ended up skipping through all the scenes. The episode runtime is too long. Don't waste your time and just rewatch the John Wick films again.

Dexter: New Blood: Sins of the Father (2022)
Season 1, Episode 10
1/10
Just watch seasons 1-4 and that's all
9 January 2022
As a huge Dexter fan it's honestly been heartbreaking to see the quality of the show decline rapidly after season 4. The S4 finale is where the show ends for me. Dexter never felt like the same character in the later seasons as well as in the revival. Just constantly making dumb decisions and mistakes that Dexter in seasons 1-4 would never do. I had some hope with Clyde Phillips coming back but unfortunately New Blood ended up being just another bad season of the show. And for this finale I don't even have anything to say. Exact same feeling I had when I watched the season 8 finale.

Dexter is going to be the only show ever in existence that had an original series finale that was hated by mostly everyone and then came back for a revival and did another ending that is also mostly hated by everyone. If this is what the writers intended then they definitely succeeded. Just really sad that this going to end up being the legacy of the show. Really wish Clyde Phillips watched season 5 of Breaking Bad before writing New Blood so could understand what a good final season should be like.

It just sucks because Clyde and MCH kept saying in the promotion before the season aried that they came back to right the wrongs of the original series finale and to give a fans a satisfying conclusion. Well they definitely failed. I wish they never came back for a revival because I made peace with the s8 finale and moved on from the show years ago. Now I'm just angry and pi**ed off again. Just wanna thank Michael C Hall for his hard work and dedication over all these years. He was the only good thing when the show went downhill. I look forward to rewatching seasons 1-4 in the years to come and always stopping at the S4 finale. That way I will always be satisfied with the conclusion of the show. I'd recommend you all do the same.
