Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
Alright
I had a few qualms with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Mostly, i thought, it was too disconnected and choppy. They just keep throwing everything at you. Second, is there are a few things they did not put enough emphesis on. For example, how much Snape really hates Harry and Sirius. I also though the film was a bit hard to follow (if you haven't read the books). Despite all the misdirections the movie took, I thought it was very entertaining and well made. It went through at a fast pace, had great acting, and beautiful scenery. I thought Gary Oldman's performance was especially well done. As compared to the previous Harry Potter films, it is very different, but in a good way.
I would give the film an 8/10
The Mists of Avalon (2001)
Good
It seems that everyone is really down on this movie because it wasn't like or as good as the book. Personally i can't think of more than one or two movies that were as good as the book they were based on. Also, of course The Mists of Avalon would not be exactly like the *900* page book. Harry Potter was only about 300 pages and they had to cut a bunch of stuff out. Although I didn't read the whole book (I thought it got too tedious...I was also only 12) i thought the movie was good. I would not say I was great, but most of the characters were well cast and well acted. I would give it a 7 out of 10.
Hearts in Atlantis (2001)
9/10
This is one of those great movies that make you think. Anthony Hopkins does great job playing a wise and mysterious man who has an extraordinary power. As he teaches Bobby you will learn too and really think about life.
The Patriot (2000)
2.5 Thumbs up
This is a great movie. OK, it was rather bloody and violent, but that is how wars are. I thought this was a really powerful movie, about the Revolutionary War and the way it affected families. This is one of the few movies that I almost cried while watching. I gave it a 9/10.
Cujo (1983)
Not scary
Although "Cujo" can be a bit startling at time, as with most good horror movies, I didn't think it was scary or even creepy in the slightest. The movie was okay but its not the best horror movie, although I wouldn't advise it for little kid, because otherwise they might never come near a dog again.
The Time Machine (2002)
I absolutely loved it!
I thought this was a great movie. The special effects were just plain incredible and the acting superb. I'd say it was even better than the original, but I can not compare either to the book I haven't read. I gave it a nine out of ten.
Minority Report (2002)
Very Entertaining
I really enjoyed Minority Report,it was entertaining, well done, and had great effects. Okay, there were a few details I didn't like, but they were pretty much the reason it was rated "R" and no movies are perfect. I gave it an 8; its not my favorite movie, but its pretty darn good. Even my mom liked it and Minority Report is not even really her type of movie.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
It's Ok
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was okay but not what I'd say to be a great movie. Although I really enjoyed the books, the movie seemed a bit corny to me, though it was actually above my expectations. I would have given it a 7.5 but I had to have a round number.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
Even more fun than a barrel of monkeys
I believe Monty Python and the Holy Grail is one of the most hilarious movies ever. It has you laughing even during the credits. I'd recommend it to almost anyone, any time, any where ( except if they had no sense of humor). I gave it a 10/10.
The Ninth Gate (1999)
i gave it a 6
I personally didn't think it was that great, but it was interesting. The cast was good and it did keep me watching. I didn't really like the end and think it made me wonder if there was going to be a sequal. Yet, it wasn't the best or worst movie i've ever seen.
