Russian Bride (2007)
Loved this movie
I knew a guy who went through the "Russian Bride" adventure. First, I was wondering why would he do such a thing, and afterwards I couldn't understand why they didn't get married. The girl seemed to be pretty, polite, educated and quite young. But she wasn't the one who quit. Now, after watching this movie I have some clue. I could sympathize with Tanya the girl is very sweet and lovely, trying to be a companion, a life partner for Blake. She came with the wedding dress, obviously being committed to marrying the guy. But he just got scared. Different cultures. He didn't understand how isolated and lonely she felt staying in his small apartment. And she didn't understand his obsession with work. Surviving in a foreign country must be difficult. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone.
Forbidden Foot (2007)
Excellent
"Forbidden Foot" is great. The main character is a bit freaky but I could feel his loneliness. Whatever you can do to break the solitude, do it.
This movie surprised me. I thought there would be more feet in "Forbidden Foot", but I loved it anyway. In the end we're all looking for love, aren't we?
I could definitely identify with Dave (the main character of "Forbidden Foot"), with his loneliness and isolation, appreciation of nature's beauty and search for love and meaning of it all. I liked the atmosphere of the film melancholy and meditative, and mildly erotic.
I watched this film, loved it and then ordered "Russian Bride" (which relates to "Forbidden Foot") and loved it too.
