I kinda just wrote a review on the movie/weird pilot that comes before this series but I have a few words for this as well. The writing is disgustingly bland and shallow, littered with butchered characterizations of returning personalities, childishly basic one-liners and puns, and extremely awful tropes and cliches. It has extremely stiff animation, which is somewhat expected from a cheaper budget, but given that this is DREAMWORKS, they could have done sooooo much better for this and other tv series. Some of the other reviewers (which might be, in all honesty, bots or paid actors) say that it is enjoyable for kids and adults alike, when the show is obviously written like its just meant to be a form of stimulant for toddlers. Which is awful in comparison to the original movie, with great action and comedy for kids and a unexpectedly well written story for adults.

Consider the series mutilated.

The movie didn't even need a sequel in my opinion and yet it got one in the worst way possible. Its obvious they didn't care with this at all when they put the production in the hands of their cheaper studio made for TV SERIES with a cheaper budget, which also explains why this is also a weird pilot to the awful series as well. Apparently the original writers helped with this mess and it makes me think there was no way they weren't put on a massive crunch, cause the writing is extremely bland and lazy, with several weird plotholes and inconsistencies with the original movie's story. They also awfully butchered the personalities of the returning characters, making them bland husks of themselves. This is not at all a good sequel, it is a straight-to-streaming-service indicator of Dreamwork's long running issue of volatile fluctuations in the quality of their movies, given that we had The Last Wish from them last year, and the several movies of awfully varying success released before so.
