A must see film
16 September 2006
Saw this film during the Mod & Rockers fest in August. I was so inspired and touched. Harry had an amazing life and one of the best and distinct voices ever recorded. For those of you who don't know about Harry Nilsson do a little research and you'll see that Harry has probably found his way into your life in one way or another - maybe it was his 70s special "The Point" or "Everybody's Talking" from Midnight Cowboy. For me it started with "people let me tell you bout my best friend" - the theme song from "The Courtship of Eddie's Father." Watching this film you can really feel the love and admiration from Harry's true friends and peers. Don't shed a tear for Harry - he had a ball...

A year in the life of crime (1989) HBO
13 March 2005
If you like "Laws of Gravity" you will definitely like "A year in the life of crime (1989)" from HBO. It followed a group of real losers around Jersey City for a year. A must see One of the best documentaries I've ever seen.

I would love to see a follow up to the original HBO version of this movie. It's been about 16 years and I would love to see if any of the original guys from the documentary are alive.

HBO needs to re-release "A year in the life of crime" or do the follow up. I'm sure this has been mentioned a million times in relation to this film so I will end my post here...

Down on Us (1984)
The truth is hard to hear!
14 June 2002
Many people think that drugs were the reason that three top rock stars in the early seventies all died of "Drug Overdoses" within a one year period. People are afraid to ask why. That is, everyone except Larry Buchanan. Larry is not afraid to put his ass on the line to tell the truth. As a famous rock journalist with over two decades in the trenches, I take my hat off to Larry for laying out a courageous and extremely plausible scenario! Watch this film and learn the truth. But remember, you might not like what you'll discover about your government!

The most influential rock band ever!
14 June 2002
Without KISS there would be no Alice Cooper - no David Bowie and no such thing as "Glam Rock!" This film is a small dose of what KISS is capable of. The acting isn't great - but don't blame KISS, blame the director. The director is solely responsible for every aspect of a film. Everyone else is lucky to be there. The director doesn't even need them - but unions force these poor guys to employ them. KISS deserves better. Watch the film, buy the albums and see why KISS rules!
