Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Subspace Rhapsody (2023)
Very clever writing, very talented cast
I absolutely loved this episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, no matter whatever the critics are gonna say! It is charming and silly, but that fit the cosmic phenomenon they were in. Spock's mathematical soul-pouring was very cleverly written. The special guests (trying not to have any spoilers here) over the viewscreen actually made me snort out loud. I loved every actor's singing and acting. I'm sure that could not have been easy! It's like a short full Broadway musical. It sort of reminded me of Disney musicals. Here's something I never thought I'd say: it was like "Star Trek" meets "The Lion King," and I'm here for it! Lol. It's also nice to have a lighter episode. I thought it was a lot of fun to watch and I know I'll rewatch it again already! Well done, all of the talented cast and writers and crew! Etc. This episode cheered me up, I guess I needed that.
Swan Song (2021)
What's with the low scores?
I thought this movie was beautiful and emotionally deep. Ok if you were expecting an action film, you might not love this, emotionally moving sci-fi/fantasy film. I loved it. It gives you a lot to think about. I love the subtle futuristic tech they have (like "double clicking" their thumbs to open their computer). It almost goes unnoticed how things in this future have improved. It's very fluid. I loved the art. The acting is amazing.

***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***
Imagine literally sitting down and having a chat with yourself. Imagine getting a terminal diagnosis...and then you're given this opportunity.
His love is so deep for his family that he'll die all alone, to save them the grieving.
Meanwhile...the same actor is playing "Jack" but has to do scenes alone in deep conversations with himself. It must have been quite a challenging role! He did it very believably and beautifully. The just-under-the-surface anger was great. And the fact that Jack forgave him(self) too. "Do what you gotta do."
Raised by Wolves (2020)
One of the better sci-fi shows currently "on the air"...EVERYTHING was well done.
This is one of the better sci-fi shows currently "on the air". I love the characters, plot, cinematography, art, acting.... EVERYTHING was well done. Even smallest of details are astounding me on my second watch. Like the Mother's hair. I love the goodness you can see in people, despite the bad. I hope there will be many more seasons of this great show. It's visually amazing. I'm very impressed.
Community: Introduction to Teaching (2014)
The NICHOLAS CAGE EPISODE!
The NICHOLAS CAGE EPISODE! I love this episode, and for all the years after it first aired, my sister and I periodically watch Nick Cage movies and discuss this Greendale class. I totally love Mr. Cage and think he's a talented actor. And this idea as a college course is hilarious. Poor Abed is drawn into the deep mystery....it's irresistible and weird, yet sweetly relatable. It warps my mind sometimes, too. lol
3%: Capítulo 06: Garrafas (2018)
"3%" Season 2, Ep. 6. "Bottles/Garrafas" : Amazing Musical Performance, WAS IT RECORDED LIVE?! "Preciso Me Encontrar," Liniker Barros
I love the music during the party/parade scenes. It seems like a live performance. I couldn't find the song with Siri or on Apple music by this artist. Finally found it on YouTube. "Preciso Me Encontrar" Liniker Barros.
It's really impressive, very emotional, especially during this part of the story. It sounds happy and deeply sad at the same time Which fits this show. I've heard little pieces of this song in the show, subtly, instrumental. It's beautiful and haunting. (To be clear, I'm not talking about the show's theme song.)
TV show: "3%". Season 2, Episode 6. "Bottles" aka "Garrafas"
(Note: I don't know the language In this show. I'm not even sure, but I think it's Portuguese. All but this song has been captioned and dubbed to English for me. It doesn't matter at all...I'm really enjoying this show on Netfix! This musical scene blew me away!)
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018)
I love it, but I never saw earlier versions or read the comics!
Note: I've never seen the earlier versions of this show, or read any of the comics. It could be how I'm able to totally love this show, I don't know.
As a total newcomer to this story and characters, I find the show to be great fun. It's got a cool balance of very dark and very light, reminding me fondly of how it felt watching "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" back in the 90s. Hip, youthful, honest. It feels both modern and ancient, all at once. It deals with evil further than most shows ever do, yet somehow always keeps good morals, and good, heroic, and kindly actions of the brave teens. (Even mean Auntie Zelda grows on you and I think she's got a good heart inside, lol.). I love that there are 3 main characters who are strong single women in their 40s or 50s.... I'm just gonna say it, I love that they can be stunning and/or sexy WITHOUT any really obvious plastic surgery. I hope more and more films will show the world what it looks like to age well, FINALLY FOR WOMEN TOO! I like REAL faces.
I enjoy the cousin that lives there, Ambrose...usually quite funny. Most of the main actors are great!
I don't really care for the boyfriend, Harvey. He's so weak and uninteresting and shows little reason for Sabrina's deep love and devotion. I think the problem is sort of a reverse-sexist one...the women are strong and smart, while the men are stupid and weak. It seems like that is going backwards! ...come on writers of the world, can't a super hero's boyfriend be strong and smart too? (Lois Lane was!)Slowly tv/movieshave let female assistants show their strengths. Don't make men go backwards.
I like Susie's confusion about her sexuality, and I hope she keeps on learning that femininity has its strength too. She's interesting. I bet most people relate well to this character... sometimes you may feel more feminine, sometimes more masculine. I like that for the most part, sexuality in general isn't a big deal in this show. And when it is, its to show bullies and how to stop them!!.
One of my favorite characters is Ms. Wardswell. That actress is amazing! I just adore this crazy, awesome, wild looking woman. I know and love the actress from Doctor Who (Missy). She's perfect in this show. (They should try getting the actor that played The Master in Doctor Who too!!). She can steal a scene with just a facial expression. She's great!
I don't mind it because my faith is strong and I love sci-fi and horror stories, but I will say this show goes very dark sometimes with the evil, hailing satan, cannibalism, etc, but that's part of the point I guess. It is a horror show!
Overall I really enjoy this show. I hope in the future there can be some males who are strong too without cruelty. It wouldn't take anything away from the kickass women of the show to have a few men like that too. Harvey's brother almost was (very brave and strong and kind). No spoilers though!
I wouldn't recommend this show for kids or teens, it's very adult even though most of the characters aren't.
