Stranger Things (2016)
What happened?
Started well with an interesting premise, good characters. Devolved into long & pointless diatribes, scenes & situations that make no sense, and there no longer being any sense of danger since no main character can die. All the characters are now the same. Guy & girl bosses that have a couple moments of emotional weakness.
Instead of making interesting storylines, the writers & directors are trying to make bigger ones. Then take those, and have a convoluted way to link these new character back to the original story & enemies. It's poor writing to try and capture the 'magic' of the original couple seasons.
American Battleship (2012)
Garbage
Carl Weathers is the only actor in this movie. The rest of the cast were found on Kijiji.
Aside from the garbage acting, the CGI looks like a video game from 1994, and the script was written by somebody that had won a contest from the local Starbucks. The costumes are nice, I guess. Seems the majority of the movie's budget was allocated there.
Roseanne (1988)
Ugh
The best scenes in the catastrophe of "comedy" are the ones that don't include Rosanne. The first 2-3 seasons were tolerable, but then you could tell nearly to the episode when Rosanne was given too much power and creative control. She already is on the line of most annoying and least funny female "comedian" with Kathy Griffin because of this.
The show continued to go downhill to the point where it went from a few chuckles here and there of blue collar comedy, to idiotic nonsensical Liberalism. Good job of destroying what could have been a half-decent concept. I'd rather stick to comedies that can hold their ground over time because of solid laughing moments aka Seinfeld.
Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010)
Very Surprised
I decided to see this title expecting maybe a laugh or 2 and not much more. It turned out that I laughed through most of it. Alan Tudyk & Tyler Labine do a great job as Tucker and Dale, playing the hillbilly "heroes" They work well together and this chemistry absolutely adds to the fun in this film. The beautiful Katrina Bowden who plays Allison had me laughing with her anti-climatic, level-headed character no matter how much horror and mayhem is going on around her. Lastly Jesse Moss who plays Chad had me giggling and simultaneously rolling my eyes at his over-acting as the self-proclaimed "leader" of the band of college kids. Corny, campy fun from beginning to end. I definitely would recommend this to people that are willing to not take anything about this movie seriously.
