Run (2020)
9 Stars Deduction For Wasting My Time
Let me start by saying this, the acting was top draw - both the leads absolutely nailed it. However I hate watching movies where right after the ending the whole thing just seems pointless. You know the feeling when you saying to yourself 'ok so I just wasted my time then' thats exactly what this felt like. I mean why ever bother making barely mediocre content in general? You can surely do far better things in life with disposable income I guess.
Another issue was my gf kept asking "is that Adele (English singer), sure she is" everytime Sarah Paulson came on screen. I must admit she did look just like Adele, well slightly older version of hers.
Balaa (2018)
Amazingly Intense Definitely Not For Fainthearted!
I asked my husband about this tv series who sometimes watches Pakistani dramas. He is extremely picky when it comes to food & entertainment! He binge watched all 40 episodes of Balaa within like 8 days. Seriously, for a guy who hardly ever watches any Indian soaps it actually was a big deal seeing him glued to our tv (smart tv youtube) spending all his spare time binge watching all the episodes in a matter of days.
Thats when it finally caught my attention, I had to ask him the all important questions: why, what, how could you, is it really that good etc. Believe me I've never seen him praise anything like this since Gangs of Wasseypur (best of bollywood) & Breaking Bad (best of hollywood). He ultimately warned me that its extremely intense, realistic, dark, saddening & also has some dark comedy, yes he said this powerful series contains fragments of dark comedy which will sometimes make you laugh out loud.
I am from Delhi, dentist by profession & have watched many Indian serials/movies over the past few years but honestly nothing as powerful as this. I must admit even though its a beautifully crafted series - it certainly isn't for fainthearted. This drama will indeed leave you emotionally very very drained. It will show you an extremely nasty side of humans which will ultimately hit you hard.
Marvellous direction, incredible script, powerful performances especially by Balaa! I kept saying to myself she actually is a Balaa who will spare no one, not even her supposedly loved ones.
I hope Balaa got all the recognition & praise it truly deserves. This is literally unlike anything I've ever seen!
Amazingly intense definitely not for a faint of heart!
Leila (2019)
Not sure if low raters actually watched this show or a completely different series
Take my word for it, believe me you will absolutely enjoy every single second every moment spent watching this incredible show. Start to finish its absolutely amazingly well made. What I enjoyed the most was the quality direction & story.
Solid 10/10 for creativity entertainment cinematography just pure brilliance on every level!
Regardless of what genre you like watch this series trust me you will absolutely love this!
Makes me wonder how could anybody give low ratings for this incredibly entertaining series. I mean seriously have they even seen this or just wrote reviews to make it look bad......
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Literally don't see whats all the fuss about it is ok certainly nothing special though
Firstly just to be fair I am going to praise whats good about this film. It holds your attention with excellent music & good cinematography. As for gore lovers theres plenty of scenes depicting the true horrors of war. Well thats that along with some good character development which certainly is vital in order to hold it all together.
Moving onto whats not so good! personally I don't like movies which ultimately feel mediocre. Let me explain this: so here we have this film which needs no intro one every Spielberg fan absolutely loves. For most part it is a wonderful watch however towards the end I was thinking it is quite a pointless film. I mean thats exactly what it felt like, pointless. Mediocre & Pointless is probably the best way to describe it. Furthermore I absolutely hate movies which get all the appreciation because of the director or lead actors. Saving Private Ryan does just that & also heavily relies on potentially fake reviews. If it weren't for Spielberg & good actors it would've been rated 5/10 at best.
If you haven't seen it I'd say give it a miss. And if you have seen it already watch again with an open mind ignoring the fact who directed it or who's in it.
Ranjha Ranjha Kardi (2018)
An amazing drama serial! A powerful saga! Absolutely a MUST SEE!!!
Let me start by saying this: this tv series deserves higher than 10/10
What a joy its been I just finished watching this extremely well made drama.
If you enjoy good productions this is definitely for you. Trust me there won't be a single full moment.
Oscar material right here, a huge round of applause for this masterpiece absolutely loved it!
An amazing drama serial! A powerful saga! Absolutely a MUST SEE!!!
Breaking Bad (2008)
Sorry Heisenberg for the delay
I have always been a just & fair guy in all my dealings.
I am a really soft spoken person who handles aggrevating situations with a massive smile on my face. London time 8:15am I just realized I haven't left a review for the only show truly worthy of being called a masterpiece.
Let me assure you I am a really hard to please guy so much so it took over 7 years for family & friends to convince me to finally give Breaking Bad a go. When I got to season 5 I turned it off & decided to make some phone calls. I called four friends & two relatives. I told them off big time! Yes thats exactly what happened I said 'whats wrong with you people you said BB was good'. Upon which 3 of them replied 'ye...ya....ye'es?! AND?!' Then they heard the near impossible excitement in my voice. All I said was you guys kept saying its good but you should have used wordings like: best ever, incredible, a masterpiece, life changing, one of a kind, 100/10* etc etc
This show is so good there should be another list here for shows like these. Problem is this will be the only show in that special list as nothing even remotely comes close. And nothing ever will. Start to finish its simply extraordinary. A masterpiece. A stunning work of art.
Everyone should watch it regardless of the genre preference. Trust me you'll be doing yourselves a favour
Perfection on every level. Its madness because I literally struggle to watch many other shows. They just seem to lack what BB had. Perfection
Its not just a tv show its an opportunity. An opportunity to witness the greatest show ever crafted. Absolutely a must see!
Suno Chanda (2018)
Brilliant entertainment I absolutely loved it! Really sad its finished. NO! NO! NO!
Absolutely brilliant drama series much better than any series I have recently watched, honestly! And I mean including Hollywood!
There wasn't a single moment where I felt it dragged even a tiny bit. I must admit I don't usually watch dramas however this was highly recommended by my friends. The leads had excellent onscreen chemistry which is vital & all the other actors/actresses played their parts beautifully.
I highly recommended it if you haven't seen it already. Rest assured it doesn't have any vulgarity & can be seen with family & children of all ages.
And Iqra Aziz, who plays the lead in this serial is so beautiful. I mean she is just stunning. I repeat she is absolutely gorgeous! Sizzling & breathtaking beauty! I'd never even heard of her before but again I don't usually watch Pakistani series. Mostly Hollywood. But my o my she is just incredibly gorgeous!
Freud (2020)
Amazingly well made brilliantly put together series solid 10/10
I will keep my review short & to the point if you really want to enjoy extremely well made horror + suspense + crime + supernatural styled very dark series you will absolutely love this
Ignore any bad reviews here makes me wonder whether they watched the same show to be honest
Please please please hurry with the next season
Solid 10/10 entertainer!
Mrs. Serial Killer (2020)
Watch it with an open mind it is a hugely misunderstood entertainer
Its a movie intended for a broader audience & not purely for an average Indian who are used to seeing every day rom coms or over the top one man army type of cinema
Don't get me wrong it is no way film of the year but again it doesn't try & be. People giving bad reviews specially referring to acting have totally & utterly missed the point altogether. It was never intended for teenagers to be honest its a creepy take on a psychopath especially portraying what goes on in their head
Go watch if you enjoy creepy & above average thrillers. Ignore bad reviews
Inside Edge (2017)
Vivek Oberoi a brilliant artist good to see him perform. Stupid Salman Khan must be angry!
Vivek Oberoi a brilliant artist good to see him perform. Stupid Salman Khan must be angry!
What an idiot Salman Khan is thinks too much of himself.
Guys its a really good series absolutely brilliant
10/10 !!
Apharan (2018)
Watched it 4 times I guess it must be good!
If you are here trying to figure out whether or not to watch this incredibly entertaining series just stop doing what you are doing go watch it straightaway. I mean seriously are you still reading reviews. You will be mesmerised to say the least, with the sheer intense entertainment.
It is witty action-packed funny hugely entertaining with the right amount of hotness, believe me this will keep you entertained like no other series!
I loved it so so much that I have seen it 4 times already. And trust me I am a very very hard to please guy.
Solid 10/10 for mega entertainment!
War (2019)
Give this pure filth a miss watch a superhero movie instead 1/10 is generous. Trust me!
Anupriya Goenka is absolutely stunning gosh she is so hot unbelievably beautiful! Ok I am just going to stop. I mean who is she? I've never heard of her or seen her in anything else prior to this garbage called War.
Yes you heard me honestly do yourself a favour give this hyped up shroff circus a miss. Why does he have to come across as a one man army in every movie is beyond me.
Solid 1/10 just for the hottie in this disastrous filth. Only thing good about this film was Anupriya, I repeat.
And you have been warned!
The Family Man (2019)
Desperately waiting for season 2 absolutely sensational piece of art
One of the best series I've ever seen!
Desperately waiting for season 2 absolutely sensational piece of art
Portraying the shortfalls of military politicians intelligence & police etc. Cleverly conveys the message how sometimes matters are brushed under the carpet to cover-up
A must see if you enjoy really well made series or productions in general
Amazing performances by all keep up the great work guys!
She (2020)
Realistic & raw portrayal of drugs business prostitution poverty wealth & power
Watched the complete first season in just three days, enough said. I must admit it was a total random series that came up when I was flicking through & am glad I hadn't read the reviews beforehand!
SHE definitely is intended for mature/adult audiences as it does have lots of groping & skimpy outfits. There is even a scene where theres a guy rubbing a woman's private part. Seriously! And yes I am referring to that reproductory part of a woman's body!
Realistic & raw portrayal of drugs business prostitution poverty wealth & power.
All the performances were superb with good character development. It really is a very well made series. A solid 10/10 from me. A lot of Londoners have seen it on my recommendation & have absolutely loved it. Go watch with an open mind. Thank me later.
Please please hurry up can't wait for season 2
Gandii Baat (2018)
Absolutely solid 10 all the way! Balaji lot especially Ekta Kapoor are an asset to the industry!
Let me start by saying this & with due respect I believe 'some' Indian people are simply not ready for something like this. Fair enough gandi baat does have a lot of sex scenes as well as partial nudity which might be too much for some viewers. However for a lot of the people including me we knew exactly what was coming. Ekta Kapoor is an asset to the industry & let me assure everyone at Balaji you have a massive humongous following & big fanbase here in UK!!!
Most of my friends absolutely love your work. Gandi baat was so entertaining really funny & somewhat tense at the same time. People who gave bad ratings I guess have missed the point altogether. I mean seriously guys what were you expecting? Do you not see that it was meant to be extremely entertaining with lots of nudity along with really good stories set in rural India, of course with some added silliness on purpose.
It never was meant to be taken serious. Guys can't you see it was meant to be entertaining, sizzling, scorching hot & a fun ride!
A solid 10/10 from me. For people who haven't seen it as yet I suggest watch it first thing asap rest assured you won't be disappointed. Ignore bad reviews, however watch it with an open mind I you will have fun guaranteed.
Definitely much more entertaining & extreme fun ride compared to other bollywood junk.
Keep up the good work Balaji
A big thank you from UK!
No Country for Old Men (2007)
Film of the Millennium!
Let me put it this way: Hollywood, all the writers, Directors, Performers etc. given 1000 years to prove their worthiness & ability to make film, all of their expertise combined together would not be able to come-up with anything better than No Country For Old Men! BRAVO! Its absolutely excellent & gripping.
This movie is as Raw as fresh meat! Actually they should have another genre for No Country.........RAW!
Though, rightly mentioned elsewhere, it is not for all audiences i.e the people who are (only) into Tom & Jerry or Simpsons, by the way I love animation too!
As for the people who have seen it & could not fully understand the incidents in it, or questioned the logic of some sequences: Heres some rather helpful that may change your perspective at looking at it. Do we not, very often come across news articles about unexplained or unresolved cases or massacres without any apparent reason? All the serial killers who are now behind bars were once amongst ordinary people like us........Thats how you should look at J Bardem's character.
I have seen all. All the greats from The Godfather1,2,3 to Sin City, Usual Suspects to ever fresh the Shawshank Redemption. But this gem stands out from the crowd
While Javier B is creepier than Linda Blair in Exorcist Kelly McDonald portrays innocence. And I personally loved the ending which leaves you guessing & wanting more. Javier Bardem's Anton Chigurh the terrifying, floppy-haired murder machine of "No Country for Old Men" isn't particularly chatty or seductive, but the intensity of his performance, If you're judging it as an actors' showcase, the film offers one great performance after another, from Javier Bardem's chilling contract killer to Josh Brolin's corruptible Everyman to Tommy Lee Jones' world-weary sheriff.
Even the smaller roles are filled by exceptional character actors like Beth Grant (of "Donnie Darko" and "Sordid Lives," among many others) and Stephen Root ("Office Space").
So if you would like to experience cinema at its best go see it. It is haunting, excellent & breathtaking 9.5/10
