I know the creators of the UK original version of this show were involved in the production of this US version, but it is very sad... I actually think/hope the UK version is still being produced so I am not really sure why this sub-par copycat is being made. All I can think is that the UK folks thought Americans needed a dumbed down version because the acting is so juvenile and all the jokes are hand-fed to the audience, in a condescending way. You cant mimic Mary she's one of a kind!!! And don't even get me started on the US version of Lolly's character, just sad.

I'm on the 7th episode now, the most recent one. This has been one of the only shows that I begrudgingly forced myself to watch in the hopes that this amazing cast would suddenly turn this into something worth watching. This is a hugely depressing, narcissistic piece of crap and I genuinely hope JGL is blacklisted from making a show after this....

Now that Netflix isn't the only streaming service with skin in the game and its budget is pitted against the likes of HBO and Disney it feels to me like the seams are coming apart and whats left is pretty cheap... props to this show for the first 3 seasons though because Fox was able to elegantly pull off a comical day-time-soap-opera style law and order show with what i assume would be a largely heretical plot for most of the Christian people out there, lol. Tbh I'm bitter because i found the Azreal/ghost & Ella storyline to be extremely compelling and could not believe something that was so obviously meant to be picked up the following season was replaced by some corny Eve bs. And now this dual Tom Ellis thing...? Ya, nothing says budget cut more obviously than filling the roles of the main protagonist and antagonist with the same actor. Also who the f coached him on that dialect?
