One for the Family
15 April 2024
First off, this movie is for the family. There's tons to laugh in the second half. Nivin Pauly just steals the whole thing with his acting and self troll. Real credit goes to Vineeth Sreenivasan. He's a genius craftsman. He knows exactly how to make the film click with the general audience. Coming to the film. There's nothing new about the storyline. We can very well predict the course. Dhyan has done well. Pranav struggles. Story begins cheerfully and lags as it inches towards the halftime mark. From then on, it's a rollercoaster of laughs. It's more funny when 100s of people laugh with you. So may not be that good when it comes to OTT. But definitely a one time enjoyable film, that has its ups and downs.

Like a wet towel

Warning: Spoilers
The movie is pretty bad at many levels. The plot, the plot development, narration, sub plots, characters, villains and even BGM. Mammootty had no reason to be part of this movie. The hype created was totally bogus. Jayaram doesn't do a good job as it felt he was trying too much. The story is unoriginal and is similar to many movies from the past. It heavily reminded me of ee thanutha veluppan kalath. The director has failed massively in making this movie a thriller which wa show it was advertised. This type of revenge killing movies makes no sense anymore and bringing the serial killer angle does not help it's cause either.

PS: Why was lead character written as someone who was insomniac and schizophrenic with hallucinations?

Gripping show that loses its Grip
31 March 2024
I must say that the show started off really well, especially with the backdrop of an eerie forest and village near it .Even the opening scene was pretty dope. Inspite of few cliches like the troubled past of the lead detective, the subordinate not approving with the senior. We might start guessing the story plot somewhere by the 4th episode, but you'd watch it still for the good narration. However the show drags on unnecessarily and is maybe a couple of episodes too long. Some of the side storylines were too cliched and could have been made better. Overall a decent show that has different yet not unique plotline, great camera, decent acting by the characters, and is definitely watchable.

Unexpected
28 December 2023
In one word, this movie is good. It falls short of amazing or extraordinary, but it really is up there. I started watching in the expectation that it is going to be another cheesy horror film. However, it is a well made, well scripted movie. The plot is pretty basic, but the making, the BGM and acting of the lead female character makes this a gripping thriller. Not to mention the climax and maybe even the last 15 minutes. The medical condition of the lead character is portrayed pretty well, as it is a difficult subject to tread into. Overall a pretty good film that requires much more appreciation.

An "ADI" for the viewers
26 December 2023
Where to start. The movie is more or less like a cheap imitation of Dulquer starrer KALI. But with less substance in the screenplay. Shine Tom's character is a joke and so are the antagonists. There's not a single department where this movie can be given credit to. Believe me I tried hard. Almost acting of all characters were below par, except for Ahana. She is a sore to the eyes. Her acting is so bad that a scene where she talks is shot mostly from behind her. Her dialogue delivery, expressions are all so very painful to listen and watch. The villains are even bigger jokes. Why on earth are such movies made, is beyond me.

Hidden Gem

A decently crafted movie. The fact that a man with honest intentions is always isolated and mocked by society is well portrayed in this movie. Vinay fort has done his part pretty neatly. Supporting cast has also performed to their best. The movie has a social message which the society is aware of but has conveniently chosen to forget.

The movie is overall a feel good film that though predictable has been well made. It's a decent watch and carries no burden of what large scale movies carry.

In fact inspite of a typical cliched story path, the movie doesn't bore you or doesn't feel lagged at any point.

Slow and steady won't always win the race

Another movie that reiterates the fact that Story is everything. This movie has such a weak storyline and screenplay that a decent making couldn't salvage it. The slow pace, dragged out scenes, random characters that isn't required, all makes this movie a snooze feat. BGM is nothing unique, I guess they've used folk songs (how original). Overall just another movie to forget about.

The plot is nothing new and cannot be justified as a political thriller. Leaving aside the fact that central characters belong to a political party and they do deeds that they believe are for the party is like treading on think ice. It barely makes the cut to qualify as a political thriller.

Only plus side is it's we'll cinematographed. That's it.

And the argument that its a theatric experience movie is juvenile as a good cinema has to be good anywhere, be it in theatres or on TVs.

Not Perfect. Not Trash Either

The flaw is in the story and script. They had to have a better storyline before making such films. The actors did their part. The VFX were great. The ending was predictable, clichéd and below par.

A tale of two halves
11 April 2021
A good movie which is a bit slow paced for my liking. However, it is a good story (for the most part). A few, like me, might have wondered how the story would end, and that is where, i felt the movie fell flat. A gripping and enticing story till the interval and thereafter it struggles as it tries to reach the end. All characters were well cast. I feel the making was not up to par and the fact that the thread of the story could not be well developed are the downsides of the film. Overall its a decent thriller movie that could have been a great thriller.

Terrible would be an understatement

Firstly, I am disappointed at VP. Secondly, I wonder how Kajal Aggarwal survived all these years in film industry. Her acting throughout the show is cringe worthy. Poorly written, mediocre direction and acting; Other than Vaibhav Reddy, nobody even makes an attempt to do their part.

Potential destroyed
15 December 2018
In simple terms, this movie could have been masterclass. However poor directorial skills of the debut director and over hype created prior to the release ruined it for most of them. Myths and folklore are tricky subjects but if executed well can yield great results. I say this with confidence because of the movie "Njan Gandharvan". The legendary Padmarajan crafted a masterpiece there. So with the current technologies available in film making field, an average director could have made Odiyan a great film. Hope this director quits directing movies and go back to making mediocre ADs. It is a one time theater watch. Mohanlal has done justice to his role, my next pick amongst the cast would be Sana Altaf. She portrayed her character in the best possible manner. Apart from them, others were just average. Prakash Raj without his original voice was very unsettling to watch.

Assassin's Creed: Origins (2017 Video Game)

Revolution in AC franchise
29 March 2018
After Ezio series; AC 2, Brotherhood (the best) and Revelations ( a perfect ending) the ones that followed were pretty mediocre. Black flag was good. This Game blows away the idea of open world game. Origins has a massive world.Maybe bigger than GTA V and Red Dead Redemption. Factors that puts AC: Origins ahead (some might frown) over GTA V and RDR is the immersive game play. Hunting, Climbing, Interaction with envt, weapons, Combat, Enemies, Soundtrack are to name a few.

Combat is pretty challenging. I suggest play in HARD mode. Every enemy has a difficulty level. If they are 1 or two levels above you, then combat is tough, if further above, you'll be killed like a mosquito. One death per hour is more or less certain. Even the same goes with animals.

You can climb pretty much anything. Yes!! Anything. Now you don't need to take a long route to reach atop of a mountain. Simply can climb vertically.

SENU the Eagle is what we always wanted in Assassins Creed. In origins we do not have eagle vision, bur actual EAGLE's Vision. Use Senu to track, follow, set markers, even fast travel (if senu is within 300mts)

A.I is absolutely amazing, for instance: In a side quest when an NPC is asked to go home after the quest, the NPC actually runs home, rather than just disappear. You can follow the character with SENU (the EAGLE) and can even listen to his post quest conversation with another character.

Bayek is always on running mode. No need to press any other keys (AC fans will notice the difference).

How to play: Ideally play all the side quests, explore areas, loot transporting, hunt and reach higher levels.

I reached level 8 before leaving the first area (SIWA). Even at level 8 there are two places in SIWA that you cannot approach. Enemies have SKULL over them (Too high for Bayek)

I played almost 8 hours (in detail, solving puzzles, upgrading,dying- a lot) before "Leaving SIWA".

This game is Massive. Awesome. Challenging. Accurate to a great extent (even the interiors of Pyramid of GIZA

To use DELUXE CODE-> In game, go to store and enter the code and you get 1. A Legendary Sword, Spear and a Shield, Desert Cobra outfit and A bad ass horse. A Naval Mission

I can go on writing, but i suggest buy it to experience it. ************************************************************* After 103 hours, i have earned all trophies. This is the first game for which i have put in so much time to earn all trophies. Totally worth it !!

A Man.. A Phenomenon.. A GOD
28 May 2017
I saw this "emotion" today.. Its not a movie..or a cinema or a film.. It was re-living my childhood all over again.. The 17 or so years of my life.. It made me realize how much this PHENOMENON had influenced all our life.. I could remember all those cut scenes (of the matches) as if it was yesterday.. I remember where i was on that day when the match was played... I recollected the people who were in the same room when i watched it..

It truly is an emotion... Something that cannot be said , written or explained.. but only felt.

And as he walked out of the ground for the very last time... it was the end of an era... A Man, A Phenomenon, A GOD that carried the game of cricket for his nation... For 24 years.... Many would say otherwise... But for Me and for millions He Defined the Beautiful Game of Cricket...

A must watch.. It brings back memories... Well Made.. Perfectly balanced screenplay. A good perfect documentary.

Three Generations... One Hero.

The Number 10.. Forever.... Sachin Tendulkar
