Silver Bullet (1985)
Still scary after all these years
Corey Haim gets a bad rap these days but I still think he's a great actor. What can I say? The dude can act. I love everything about this movie. I love the pace and the building apprehension. It's not a gore fest or action packed but Silver Bullet still stands the test of time. There are no beautiful naked women but that's okay. Also, Gary Busey is superb in this as well as the dude who played the reverend. You may laugh because this is a werewolf movie but it's the best one of its kind. Putting Corey Haim in a wheelchair was a great idea because you not only feel for the kid but it makes it more scary that he is helpless and vulnerable. The special effects were pretty decent back in the day.
Little Erin Merryweather (2003)
The Librarian From Hell
I've seen plenty of nanny from hell flicks but this movie is sort of the librarian from hell. I couldn't figure out if I wanted to sleep with her or take a bat and bludgeon her to death. The actress that played Erin really got under my skin. Although I would have liked to seen her naked or someone in the film take their clothes off, but it is what it is. The scene where she really freaks me out is where she's looking out a window or something, looking all insane and spaced out. The dude who played the cop was a bit over the top but the rest of the lead actors were actually pretty damn good. The other thing that I thought was freaky was the little kid's nursery rhymes and as the movie goes on, you realize that these have double meanings for all the murders which is pretty cool. I also liked how they filmed everything with the color red. Low budget and flawed but really dig the style.
Pacific Heights (1990)
Always a fun ride
If you like Melanie Griffith like me(I'd marry her)you'll like this one.I happen to think she is a fine looking woman.I just watched this again and it's better than I remember. Not that it's that old of a film but the movie has aged well since it was made.I wish Griffith could be taken more seriously because despite her sex appeal she can act.But there is no chemistry in this film between her and Modine. Michael Keaton or should I say "Carter Hayes"still to this day freaks me out in this. The last 30 minutes or so of this film work perfectly and every time I see it,it keeps me engaged.Every time I hear Melanie's voice no matter what movie it is,it exudes sex. I guess I am a little obsessed with her.
