Power of Grayskull: The Definitive History of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2017)
I would have rated much higher...
But the underlying bass is AWFUL! It actually drowns out the interviews and makes them difficult to hear. The information is interesting enough but the distorted bass just makes it painful to watch. Whoever came up with that idea for the film, and whoever signed off on it, need to seriously go away and think about what they've done. At about 48 minutes in you get a quite part that has no music and it's SO MUCH better for it. But then less than a minute later the terrible soundtrack appears and it just becomes unwatchable again. I'm afraid I gave up in the end.
Grace and Frankie: The Home (2018)
Complete cop out and unimaginative season finale
This was an amazing series about two strong, independent, mature women showing just how life can be even when you reach your 70s. But this episode is completely out of context with the rest of the series. It doesn't even come close to the brilliance of the previoes seasons and episodes. Rather than find ways to take the ladies from strength to strength the writers take the unimaginative route of turning them into a cliché. The shame is, this one episode has now completely put me off watching the next season altogether. Yes, we all know it's all about them getting their regular lives back. But I simply can't be bothered to sit through a predictable string of episodes that we all know where it's going. I thought this show had more creativity than this drivel.
Star Trek: Voyager: Renaissance Man (2001)
Dreadful episode
While I'm a fan of Voyager there are times when Star Trek really does make laughable story choices. This is absolutely one of those times. The poor writing and total lack of continuity in character development is a classic example of just how bad writing can get. The total nonsense of the storyline, that doesn't have a complete conclusion with there being no repercussions for the Doctor, makes for very painful, watching. As almost the last episode it's astounding that they thought this was worthy of the end of a run. In a word: dire.
Stargate SG-1: Politics (1998)
Absolutely Pointless
Let me say that I am a huge Stargate SG-1 fan but episodes like this make me want to throw in the fan towel. When will writers and production companies learn that these type of episodes are beyond ridiculous - statement not question. To be engaged and drawn into an episode there has to be a great story to tell at its heart. One that could lead to you wonder what the eventual outcome might be or how it might shape a future thread. Unfortunately these politically driven 'oh look the Stargate programme might be shut down' pieces of drivel are worthless airtime as we all know the outcome before they even begin. Therefore we watch them once simply for the point of completeness of knowing we have watched the entire series but we'd never watch them again.
That's the case in point with this episode. If you're new to Stargate (and there are people who still haven't watched it) then just skip this garbage as you won't miss a single thing from the overall story. The only you'll realise from watching it is that it's a painful way to spend 44 minutes.
