Shutter Island (2010)
Really Overrated
I'm glad I got in free when I saw this movie opening day. Seriously, this movie was overrated. I went into the theater and was expecting to be amazed, but I was disappointed. A lot of people keep saying that the ending "twist" was mind-blowing, or that they didn't see it coming at all. Just from watching the trailer, it's obvious that LdC was the 67th prisoner. No surprise whatsoever.
The acting was good, the plot development was decent, but it was very predictable, even cliché. I didn't hate the movie, but at the same time, I didn't love it. Overall I think that this movie probably wouldn't be worth a second look, but of course, to all their own. If you enjoy good acting with cheap, easy, and cliché endings then by all means, this is the movie for you. If you want something with a better payoff, then I suggest you look elsewhere.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)
Great potential, but failed delivery.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was fun to watch when I was young, but now that I've seen it again, I must say this is the worst Indiana Jones movie. The film had great potential (murderous cults, eating bugs&brains, mineshaft chase scenes), but there were two things that killed it.
First there's Short Round. Spielberg takes some random orphan and injects him into the story. His dramatic lines with Harrison Ford did nothing but cause an awkward bout of laughing.
Then there's Willie Scott. She doesn't contribute a thing to the survival of the characters (at least Short Round helped Indie snap out of the hypnotism). All she does for the whole damn movie is scream and whine. The 2 hours of hours of hearing "indieeeeeeeee" was a difficult thing to sit through.
1/10 because of the annoying and unnecessary characters.
Starship Troopers 3: Marauder (2008)
Laughed really hard
Yes, I laughed really hard at how crappy this movie was. There were a lot of things that made this movie suck. The special effects for the bugs was OK, but the robot suits and planet explosions were terrible! Hahaha. The nude scene was not necessary at all. The acting was sub-par. The dialog is retarded. This movie was so hilariously stupid that I may watch it again just for laughs.
All the Christian crap in this movie also contributed to the overall retardation of the plot. A headstrong soldier succumbs to the power of suggestion when the idiot blonde girl starts praying for fire from the sky to kill a giant bug... HAHAHAHA!
The Curse of King Tut's Tomb (2006)
Wow
Too bad there's no negative stars rating... I was appalled by everything about this movie, including the chick's fake French accent, the terrible Indiana Jones/the Mummy ripoff, and the awful editing. I have honestly seen better acting in adult films. The few hours I spent watching this movie seemed like an eternity. The historical inaccuracies are so numerous that I found myself shouting "wtf" throughout the entire film. I have no idea how Russell Mulcahy's name ended up anywhere near this abomination. It shouldn't even be called a film. This "thing" is a pathetic attempt to combine the 'Indiana Jones' and 'Mummy' franchises.
