Disappointing
31 March 2004
This is the movie that turned me off from power rangers. I really dont like how the kid, justin, is the blue ranger. it needs to be a teenager. however i did like the Cameo of Kimberly (pink ranger number 1) and Jason (red ranger number 1)thought it to be really cool that they still acknowledged that they were a part of this story. Needs to be a reunion Special or something of the Classic Power Rangers. it would so make me Happy. but other than that there are several problem i have with the movie Justin is just not a convincible power ranger. The Villians arent the greatest either. Ivan Ooze was so much more villianous in Power Rangers the movie. Of the 2 power ranger movies, this one comes in second. if Justin wasnt the blue ranger maybe id change my mind

enjoyable

Ok i admit it i was into the power ranger thing back in the day. This is a fairly decent big screen adaptation of the TV series. dont get me wrong but at the time Power Rangers was the Biggest thing in Childrens Entertainment. I went and saw this movie. i enjoyed it. nothing negative that i can say about it, i think its a Quirky film appealing to the tween market. This movie is better than the series when they get their Ninja Powers. but that was about it. BTW the new series is looking like it is back in stride with the originals. It nice looking back on this film as what childhood meant to me. Turbo, isnt that nice of a movie by all means. out of the two Power Ranger Feature Films pick Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. Cast is from the TV series. enjoyable adaptation

unique movie worth a watch
27 February 2004
One of the most unique movies of all times, the first talking picture and all. I saw this movie for the first time a year ago. although it was for school, i actually enjoyed this movie, doing a unit in film studies on Black cinema immeditally following, put things into prespective. in 1927 black face was commonplace and it was in 1929 as well when Show Boat came out. both have black face in it and watching it now really doesnt belittle the blacks at all, its just that the style of music that they sing in both while Jakie and Magnolia are in black face are song that you might have seen them, the blacks, preform in real life. everyone who dislikes it should really watch this film for its historical signifigance. great movie, funny dialogue, love it it gets a 10

A Chorus Line (1985)

not something special
1 February 2004
When i first heard about this musical i though it was the best thing ever. Even last year i was in a production of A Chorus Line it was a memorable experience. its been a year since i was in it and decided to finally watch this movie. and its not the best hollywood musical out there. this is not a great movie musical if it was shot totally from the house it would have been a whole lot better, this was once the longest running musical on broadway and has since then been replaced by cats, its the fourth longest running musical ever as of today 1/Feb/04 I wouldnt waste my time watching this movie again. If anyone would is thinking about remaking this movie, keep it as close to the script as you can and make it enoyable

Show Boat (1936)

The First True Musical
27 January 2004
America's First True Musical on Film, this is a film for the history buffs out there wanting to trace the American musical. Although i havent seen the 1950's version of Show Boat I really dont want to see it. This movie surpasses some movies made today. this was Whale's Favorite movie that he made. It has the one and only Joe (Paul Robeson) no one else could sing Ol' Man River like him. Even though some of the acting isnt that great keep in mind that this was made in 1936 not even 10 years after dialogue was added. This is the only version of Show Boat that matters. Usually when people remake movies they turn out bad, examples, Planet of the Apes (2001), King Kong (1976). That all you really got to know, this movie for being made at the time it was has some bright spots that outweigh any bad things in the film. But it needs to come out on DVD

Is this For Real?
19 December 2003
WOW! What a terrible movie, but with the "great stars" it has in it does nothing to help this movie. this is about the funniest christmas movie ive seen recently, its the funniest thing ever, drew and keanu before they hit it big. its nice to see that everyone has at least one horrible movie. A highlight for me was the songs that they sing. there isnt anything else to make this movie any good besides the songs. a note to all dont see this movie unless you want a night of laughter, at just about every part of this movie
